Hello, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to give a feedback on my recent draft.

I guess we'll have to wait until Diabate starts playing his first professional games (at least) in order to review the page again, right?

Help

Hello, i have been working for practice on the the Draft:Davide Lo Surdo and i suppose now it’s acceptable. I followed also the notability criteria of the award winning since he was awarded at Sanremo Music Awards. Can you tell me if i did right?

Thank you, God bless you and happy new year 91.80.1.156 (talk) 16:14, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi, sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. I have checked and Draft:Davide Lo Surdo is submitted correctly so will be reviewed in due time. Although the backlog is high at the moment there is currently a mini backlog drive on so hopefully it will reduce a lot in the next two weeks. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:13, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello, thank you for your reply sir.
So the page does meet the notability criteria?
Thanks in advance for your reply
God bless you 91.80.1.164 (talk) 13:25, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
  • To determine if "the page does meet the notability criteria?" would need a review - see previous answer. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:38, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

The technical term for what Wikipedia calls edit conflict is race condition. In our case, it wasn't exactly a conflict, and you declined it at the same time as I tagged it for G11. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:07, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

The draft needed declining and deleting, and the user needed blocking. All done. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:16, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Sources

Hi, I’m new yo Wikipedia and this is my first submission.

I’ve referenced encyclopedias, journals and multiple news sources. Why are these not verifiable sources? Cikada has had its own page on Norwegian Wikipedia for 10+ years.

  • Hi Bønna1000 and welcome, I assume you mean Draft:Cikada Ensemble. You may have meant to reference "encyclopedias, journals and multiple news sources" but that is not what you actually submitted. you can see from this edit where I removed the reference tag with no actually sources contained. you just had {{cite book}}, {{cite web}}, {{cite news}} etc. See Help:Referencing for beginners, and it the cite templates are too confusing just start with raw details in the in the ref tags such as <ref>Book Title, Author, Date, page(s)</ref> or <ref>https://somewebsite/area/page1234</ref> Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:28, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
Aha…well, it did seem a bit too easy. I will work on it and make sure to reference correctly.
    Thanks!

GrowJust India Article Improve

Hello, can u please help me improve this article. This is my first article on wikipedia and i want it to get on namespace. please help Akiinaam (talk) 11:32, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Akiinaam what you need to do is establish if the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). If you can find 3+ such sources then just use them to write the content and re-submit. If the sources do not exist then the subject is not yet notable enough for Wikipedia. Hiya, I noticed your updates on Fabriogenia, I think you are referring to the wrong banks. it was described by Nathan Banks in 1941 see : Volume 16(10). 1941. As for your information, I have created this article for the arguments of parallel universes existence so there must be existed opinions. Unplugged (Third Eye Blind album) submission help

Dear KylieTastic,

Sorry my article composition didn't meet standards.
You mentioned that the submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject...
I don’t want to be rude but all three sources I provide have the album’s name is in the title (and not just passing mentions):
Melodic Net Review Third Eye Blind - Unplugged
Third Eye Blind - Unplugged - Amazon.com Music
Third Eye Blind – Unplugged Vol. 1 (2022, CD) – Discogs
Are there other, higher quality references that are more reputable for Wikipedia’s’ standards. I’d be happy to do research on those sites.
A little guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-LandyWikipedia LandyWikipedia (talk) 20:30, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi LandyWikipedia for an album see WP:NALBUMS for the notability criteria reviewers (and then new page patrollers) will use. Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. Notability is more than just existence. Your first source is just an Amazon link only showing it exists; The second source appears to be OK; the third is just a discogs listing and as user-generated content is classed as generally unreliable (see WP:RSDISCOGS), and also is just a listing with no significant coverage so again just shows existence not notability. Recent page submission

Hi KylieTastic

Thanks for reviewing my submission for a page for the album “Number 8” by Sam Brown

I’ve looked at the information stating “Declining submission: v - Submission is improperly sourced and music - Submission is about a musician or musical work not yet shown to meet notability guidelines”

Due to this I have added two new citations, which I hope are OK? They look to be as relevant and genuine as those for Sam’s album “ReBoot”, so fingers crossed!

Also, not sure how the musician or musical work is not yet shown to meet notability guidelines? Sam Brown clearly is, as she has a Wikipedia page, and her albums also do. “Number 8” has just been released (due on 20th January officially – but those buying from her website have them already) so has not had a chance to show on any charts, and admittedly probably won’t, but it does exist.

Not sure how to progress, so looking forward to further advice

Regards Dave DaveSamFan (talk) 23:05, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi DaveSamFan, as you say Sam Brown (singer) is notable and their is a good chance this album will be notable. However Wikipedia is an encyclopedia for already notable subjects not for new for future events. For an album see WP:NALBUMS for the criteria reviewers (and then new page patrollers) will use. The easiest way for most albums is probably to have 3+ good reviews and some chart position is a bonus. Unfortunately all three sources are a large amount of quotes, so not independent and thus would be treated as promotion (as all artists do). Often copies are also given for review ahead of time so I would expect reviews to appear anytime. So my advice is wait for more independent reviews come out, add those and re-submit. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:21, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for this extra information KylieTastic. As you are clearly aware, I am very new to this, and thus not completely au fait with the protocols involved!
The album is officially released in two days time. At present, a number of people do have a copy, but guessing only fans who have purchased from Sam Brown’s website. Once it’s out “properly” then I expect there will be many more references, and reviews, which will be more acceptable. In the meantime, I can assure you that I am not the legendary Sam Brown (daughter of the equally legendary Joe Brown), rather that I am a fan who just wants to see her profile raised as much as it deserves to be. I felt honoured to have met Sam about 15 years ago, and also that she actually replied to a post I’d made on Facebook! Yes, I am a saddo! ;)
I’ll hang fire and try again at a later date!
    Regards
Dave DaveSamFan (talk) 13:44, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Hey DaveSamFan, we were all new here once and there are so many guidelines and policies I'm still coming across new ones (or discovering ones where changes years ago). I was going to suggest while waiting for more reviews to land you could look to see if their are enough reviews for "Of the Moment" to have an article since that's the other album of hers with none. Although, I admit with a quick look I came up with very little (just [10]). Odd that so little appears to exist (at least online, I didn't so a newspaper/book search). Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:17, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
    Nice idea, thanks!
Thing is, with the reviews, articles etc, as a Sam Brown fan, I tend to assume she's very mainstream, but it's only when you try to find stuff that you realise perhaps not. Up until 2007 she was on everything that Jools Holland did on TV, as well as touring with him, but since her voice problems, has more or less vanished :(
Cheers, Dave DaveSamFan (talk) 15:29, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi Kylie,

After you made some edits to this page it was rejected by another editor (MarcGarver). I have been an editor for just on 10 years now and I feel that the article was well written. I have left a message on the talk page of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:MarcGarver and as yet I don't have a reply. I am really at a loss to understand this rejection. I have contributed to or created several pages about male entrepreneurs and their companies with no trouble at all. First time I write about a 'female first' company and its founder, the article is rejected. The rejection was on the basis of 'advertising' and the article is mainly about the achievements of somebody in the 1990's (who is now deceased). Can you please take a look? PinkAechFas (talk) 06:20, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi PinkAechFas MarcGarver only reviewed it yesterday @ 13:05, 18 January 2023 and made no other edits so they probably have not yet been online again to answer your message yet, give them time - a lot of people only edit for small periods in a day sue to family, work and having a life. I think that the chance that the founders sex/gender has any issue is extremely small and the current bias on Wikipedia is pro more articles about women. There is still a bias based on available sources but this affects historical women more. If there are independent sources to replace the dijones.com.au ones that would possibly help, especially in the "Innovation" section. Lots of companies claim they are innovative, Wikipedia only cares if other people do. I'm just back to work after being off sick so to busy to look and organisations are not my area, so I suggest first give MarcGarver time to respond while trying to improve independent sourcing, and after that use the help links on the decline notice to the AfC Help Desk/live help or ask at a more open help venue like the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Request on 20:21:26, 23 January 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by Ed gers

Hello Could you please let me know more specifically what I did wrong this time? This is a plain Article I want to add in Wikipedia about our Band but it seems I'm getting something wrong but so far I haven't got any specific indication in how I can do this complying with the rules that you have in place, so far, every answer I got from you has been indiscernible. Please kindly advice more specifically in how I can do this properly. Thank you very much

Ed gers (talk) 20:21, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Ed gers as you said "our Band" first I need to point you to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and note the WP:DISCLOSE section. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also in this case see WP:MUSICBIO for more specifics for bands. You currently have zero sources, let alone any that show nobility as Wikipedia requires. Hope that explains things KylieTastic (talk) 20:27, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Hi Kylie
Ok, I need sources, references, I think I got you but correct me if I'm wrong, do you mean that because of the Conflict of interests? I can't create an Article of "Our Band"? and someone else has to create it instead?
Thanks again Ed gers (talk) 20:34, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi Ed gers per WP:COI "COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia" however it is allowed as long as it is disclosed per WP:DISCLOSE. The first thing you should do is look at WP:MUSICBIO to see if the band meets the criteria. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:48, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Kylie, I understand, I done this as neutral as possible, free from bias.
I have added the references. Please let me know if I need to change something.
Thank you! I'm learning a lot about Wikipedia while creating this Article :) Ed gers (talk) 21:08, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi Ed gers I see it's been moved to Draft:Erotic Devices and is submitted so someone will review at some point. I'm doing less reviewing for a while due to real-life issues but there are lots af reviewers. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:58, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Request on 15:29:12, 26 January 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by BestNamesRGone

BestNamesRGone (talk) 15:29, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Hello! I reviewed the result of the not acceptance of the Athena OS article draft. I don't understand why the references are not compliant with Wikipedia policies. Several published OS articles uses very similar references, and some of them use many not independent references despite they have been published. Could you please help me to understand which are the problematic references and how can I improve them? Could you also refer please to other similar published OS articles where some articles used as references come from the project team (so not independent) and the org website itself? In the draft article I didn't insert references to org website, but only third party blogs/website (famous industry bloggers, famous third-party projects).

  • Hi BestNamesRGone new submissions are validated against current polices and guidelines - yes their are still many article created before the use of Drafts and AfC reviews that need either improvement or deletion. If you find other articles that do not meet the nobility polices please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for how to propose deletion. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). As for Draft:Athena OS your sources are: [1] it's own github so not independent; [2] a small mention on the website, but possible decent source in the actual article; [3] a passing mention; [4] medium.com is a blog and very rarely considered a reliable source; [5] a list of tools. So apart from [2] no significant coverage in independent reliable sources. Hope that explains things. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 15:46, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

My article rejection

Hi, hope you are doing well! I want to ask you what was wrong in my Article that my article did not published? I have used all references (genuine), and put links(genuine) where necessary! Please see it again, I also saw it to my editor, he said it is completely correct and should be submitted! please review this! Lifestory2000 (talk) 20:31, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Lifestory2000 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You have the subjects website and a couple of tiktok channels for him and his wife - so not independent reliable sources. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:49, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Dear @KylieTastic,

Thank you for reviewing my previous submission. I have resubmitted the draft article adding external citations. I believe the article qualifies in terms of notability, considering it consolidates (and replaces) two portals that already exist as articles on Wikipedia (European Data Portal and EU Open Data Portal), not to mention the thousands of users and data scientists that use it on a weekly basis. If, however, additional demonstration of Notability is requested, I would be happy to receive any tip from your side. Thanks OP-Hag (talk) 11:30, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi OP-Hag thanks for improving and re-submitting, that is the purpose of the process. EU Open Data Portal is a terrible example as un-sourced, unfortunately there are still many existing main-space articles that need improvement or deletion. I'm doing less on Wikipedia for a while but hopefully someone will review soon. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:58, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

A couple of years ago you accepted this in good faith. I suspect you'll be surprised that it is at AfD as a hoax today. It would have fooled everyone except a specialist. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 14:45, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Timtrent I just accepted the redirect as it was listed as a synonym on an already accepted article - I didn't re-verify the article itself - as you say just good faith. As for the article I disagree with the "would have fooled everyone except a specialist", the sources do not list the subject - no one should have accepted as presented. I have rejected multiple attempts to invent species like this (some in good faith, others no so much). Clearly no actual checking of the sources was done. Yes an expert, may be needed to 'prove' it does not exist, but with those sources it should not have been accepted and treated with extreme scepticism. KylieTastic (talk) 14:58, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

User talk:Learned Logician

I saw you engaged the user--they made typical nonsense edits to get autoconfirmed, and the account likely hails from a gigantic sockfarm range. It's worthwhile checking back in to see if they edit Simon Ekpa, in which case they can be blocked, CU confirmed, as related to User:Anyinchukwu (and for funsies, to User talk:Tomzzz212004). Thx. Drmies (talk) 18:41, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Drmies yes I was suspicious enough that I have them on watch for a while. However if trying to get autoconfirmed you would think not drawing attention by introducing errors and generally bad edits on every single edit would be more sensible! Thanks for the heads-up on who may be the sock master. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:16, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
    • Good, thanks--well, here's the thing: many of those editors running sock farms are just bad, bad editors. Poor writing skills, poor formatting skills, they're amateurs. So a series of a dozen lousy "copy edits", followed by a few days of inactivity, is sometimes a giveaway. You do a lot of AfC stuff, you see a lot of really poor submissions: well, there you go. These people are not professionals, haha. If their customers were smart, they'd pay me. Or you! Drmies (talk) 00:26, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Improper

The edit that I made to Improper follows WP:INTDAB - all intentional links to a disambiguation page should go through a title that includes '(disambiguation)', even if that link is a redirect. I didn't want to start a silly edit war, so thought I'd bring it here. Leschnei (talk) 13:29, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Leschnei, I've reverted again - 9 years on and still finding basic guidelines I didn't know! Although to be honest as it only had two entries I was wondering if the correct thing would be to list both directly? Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:33, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Actually I would leave it as it is. If we wanted to be incredibly picky, the entries could all be considered partial title matches (another disambiguation page no-no). Adding the film names would make it worse - it's hard to argue that Improper Conduct (1984 film) is an ambiguous title. Leschnei (talk) 13:38, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

  • 1977Brazilian you need sources to show how that meet WP:MUSICBIO or WP:BASIC. Also you need sources for the other claims, as noted twice Discogs is not a reliable source as it is user generated see WP:RSDISCOGS - it's fine as an external link but not as a source. Also blogs (such as blogspot.com) are also not reliable sources. [11] and [12] are good sources and appears to have much of the discography so use those. Other source could be [13], [14]. Every day of the week, I go through most of the drafts that are expiring and it's amazing how many of them have been reviewed by you. You were very busy on August 22, 2022! Some how you approach each draft with a fresh frame of mind even though at this point, you must have reviewed hundreds, or even thousands, of drafts. Yet, I frequently see you not only give a fair evaluation of the draft but often leave a personal note in addition to the standard template. I know doing this, and responding to editors' question on your talk page, can be time-consuming. But I think it makes a big difference for new editors so thank you for being so generous with your time and attention. It's appreciated! Liz Read! Talk! 21:39, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Thank you

Just realized that you created my talk page when welcoming me to Wikipedia. I'm sure that you've done the same for many other new editors and appreciate what you do to welcome new editors. Hope you have a good week and enjoy it. — Ixtal ( T / C ) Non nobis solum. 18:49, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Ixtal, thanks! I do try to welcome new users when I do reviews to give them a bit of encouragement and some hopefully helpful links. I think it's especially important when the first feedback someone has got for a new article submission is a decline. Glad to see you stuck around. About the draft...

You said that my draft "Nonsense1" is primarily designed to threaten, disparage or attack its subject.

You also said it is a biography of a living person that is unreferenced and entirely negative in tone.

That's a mistake! 2600:4040:2DC9:9E00:9CD6:F538:A0AC:D6D (talk) 14:50, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Draft : Fredy LOA

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Fredy_Loa

Hello @KylieTastic

'Fredy'Loa is a young dynamic Ivorian businessman,

he is a new icon of Ivorian entrepreneurship,

We have therefore decided to draw this portrait of him on Wikipedia with his agreement, even though he does not make a public appearance but it will be on his agenda now. We have written this article so that we can add to it as we go along by modifying it with new information. . We ask you to accept our inclusion in this platform as prestigious as Wikipedia for the honor of our entrepreneur. THANKS

link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Fredy_Loa 160.154.23.3 (talk) 19:25, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia not a place for promotion, The reason Wikipedia is seen as "prestigious" is because it does not just allow anyone to promote. So many not notable people call themselves an entrepreneur the word has little meaning anymore. The article is not in English and has no sources so is not even close to acceptance. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). • Drmies yup, its becoming very tiresome. Endless promo spam :/ KylieTastic (talk) 15:06, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
    • A bit of Googling revealed what's going on here--at least it's not another iteration of this one. Hey, thanks for all your work in that draft area. Without people like you it would be a huge mess, instead of a minor one. Drmies (talk) 15:09, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
      • Aaaaand they just resubmitted it, I saw. Thanks for turning it down. For the life of me I don't understand, in all these years, why none of these PR people (she's the head) don't email me to offer me a couple thousand bucks for writing up their outfits. Drmies (talk) 15:41, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
        • Drmies, next we'll probably see a new account magically turn up and submit it. I don't understand why people don't understand the concept of 'Encyclopedia' and seem to think this is just another social media platform. I wish we could force submitters to do a training session and quiz they have to pass first to show they understand the basics of notability, referencing and neutrality. Evangelina Petrakis

Hello, madam.

I'm hoping you might be able to help me out a bit, as I'm very new to this.

I am working on the Evangelina Petrakis article. You rejected it stating that it does not demonstrate that she has not received significant coverage. I'm sure it's my fault for not doing it right. She is a legitimate figure, though. As I tried to show in the citations, she has been covered by New York Newsday - a very large and award-winning publication in the US - and not just in passing - an article entirely devoted to her. She also was covered by Haute Living (in the reference section as well). Also, she has hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and TikTok and over 73,000 YouTube subscribers. She's also been recognized for her business success by a Long Island Chamber of Commerce (they're working on a write-up about her as well). If you google her, you will see that she has extensive coverage. And the business she runs, EP Jewels, is worth millions, even though she's only 19.

As I said, I'm sure the failing is mine. Is there any way I can better demonstrate that she is worthy of a Wikipedia page? Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. FatDada1 (talk) 17:37, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi FatDada1, firstly it was declined not rejected - declined mean that you can continue to improve the article if sources exist and re-submit, reject is more final. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also note that Wikipedias notability standards do not care how many followers/subscribers/views people have on social media. The hauteliving.com source reads like promotion full of puff words and so I was not surprised to see "Written in partnership with Enclave & Key" at the bottom, an "Influencer Marketing" company. The newsday.com source is better but as it has many quotes is not fully independent. The article also has dubious claims such as "frequently generate millions (and sometimes tens of millions) of views" that I do not see in the source and on youtube a quick check shows the highest on EvangelinaPetrakis channel was 236K, and on TikTok I only saw one in "tens of millions". Although I admire any teenager achieving what she has, nothing at the moment shows any indication of notability for an Encyclopedia and as stated on your user page they have paid for this it would appear as just another "Influencer" trying to use Wikipedia to promote themselves. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 21:08, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
Thank you, Kylie, for your prompt response. I will take your suggestions and make adjustments. She's an up-and-coming business/social media celeb, so I'm sure there will be more sources in the future. I very much appreciate your guidance. FatDada1 (talk) 18:33, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

Legend of the White Dragon moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Legend of the White Dragon. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and it does not meet WP:GNG.. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 09:22, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi, you declined Draft:The Matthew Brown Companies a few days ago. Three days later, the same user recreated it in mainspace at Matthew Brown Companies, which has now been draftified at Draft:Matthew Brown Companies. The user has also been adding "The Matthew Brown Companies" text to,several articles, so we may be dealing with COI/PE here. Thanks.

  • Hey BilCat, yup clearly some COI/PE - I looked and found another 4 unsourced spam additions for "Matthew Brown Companies" and "Matthew R Brown" and removed. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:46, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Planet DOB

do you have any tips for making a better article with such little sources? I feel like it is important enough to get a wikipedia page and stuff but there's just not a whole lot of documentation I can access easily to make an article of on a school-deployed chromebook and it's even harder to dig through stuff on the web archive (where all of the biggest sources are + I can't read japanese)

would it be better to make a page for the whole band and just mention the game on that page? Wik1234569 (talk) 00:36, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Wik1234569 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). It can be hard to find enough sources for such subjects, especially with the language issue, although do note they are still valid sources here, try to find some reviews. There does not even appear to be a Japanese Wikipedia version so it may be sources just don't exist. As for the band, I'm not sure how notable they are as the Japanese version jp:デイト・オブ・バース is unsourced - note that each language Wikipedia has there own guidelines and polices. this is one extra source but I couldn't find any others. hi Kylie,

Thank you so much for you prompt response and warm welcomes.

i understand the facts and reasons and i agree with the desicion that the draft got declined, although it would have been super cool to have my own page, hehe

As you mentioned, this is one of my first pages i created. small in size yes, but do you have any critique or feedback that migh help me improve my page creation skill? What mistakes did i make, or if there is something i should have done differnetly

Thank you so much! Ronikastoun (talk) 18:45, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Ronikastoun the primary thing to remember when creating new articles, or actually before starting one is that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Apart from a few special cases you should first look for 3+ independent reliable sources that have significant coverage of the subject. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:02, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi, Thank you for reviewing the Cumnor House School wikipedia pages. As both schools are small they have limited secondary sources to use. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on getting an article accepted if they have very limited secondary sources, and how the school https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glendower_Preparatory_School got accepted with only 1 reference? We have added additional sources to Cumnor House School for Girls however these are the only sources they have.

YoBoy Pizza

Is there a way I can get the YoBoy Pizza article accepted? Manny Manatee (talk) 22:34, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Manny Manatee all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Having the sources to show notability and all content being sourced is what you need to get an article accepted. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 22:40, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
So do I just add more references. Manny Manatee (talk) 22:41, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
  • Manny Manatee yes and no - you need to add more independent reliable sources and at least 3 with significant coverage (not just passing mentions). Regards 22:46, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
Thank you, when you have a chance, do you think you can check it? It is perfectly acceptable if you don’t. Manny Manatee (talk) 02:11, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
  • Manny Manatee, sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random - however I see another reviewer has already got to it. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:42, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
I am just wondering, how do you become an article reviewer? Manny Manatee (talk) 15:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
  • Manny Manatee, basically get experience and then apply. Being familiar with general editing and the notability guidelines is the first step and then participation at WP:AFD helps get understanding of how notability is actually applied. The actual minimal requirements is listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Participants, however often those with the minimal level can get into issues because there are a lot of policies and guidelines that apply. Personally I had been working in article improvement and anti-vandalism for about two years before I started. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:47, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi SpottedCheetah there is Wikipedia:Requested articles but I'm not sure how many get written from these requests. Unfortunately many who write articles have there own lists of subjects to write about. Also note that being "popular" is not a criteria for article creation. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). In this case the first of your sources is just a passing mention so is not helpful for notability, so you would need to find more sources and not all just from reporting of here death. If you can find a few more good sources as the first Indian Woman to climb Everest you may find someone in an associated WikiProject interested in helping: Such as Wikipedia:WikiProject India, Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red or Wikipedia:WikiProject Climbing. RTTealer, IMDB links are considered OK in the external links section just not as a source in almost all cases (per WP:IMDB). RTTealer, such as reviews. I searched for "Demo Trials" and "RÆTV" and found nothing to suggest this is anything real. KylieTastic (talk) 15:23, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
But on IMDb and google it's real. RTTealer (talk) 15:30, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
RTTealer anyone can put pretty much anything on IMDB these days - it's frequently used to produce fake sources and as I said I found nothing on google to show its real. KylieTastic (talk) 15:42, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Actually... There isn't any IMDb, AV Club, or any website that has user reviews. Not everything has reviews.
What about The Tiny Chef Show? It had less reviews. Even The Suite Life of Hudson & James. It only had one review, and it looked bad because it was a ripoff. RTTealer (talk) 15:48, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

Review

Please review Rachael Thomas edit by Patar knight. They restored a version of the site that removed accurate additions, specifically to the inclusivity of women in politics, with two accurate sources. This removal has happened multiple times in the history, first with a rationale of the information being irrelevant and now accusing others of vandalism - not even a relevant comment on the nature of the edits. You had a source to a school district not about the subject; A basic listing as a council member; and a source that did not mention them. Working as a low level politician such as a city council member is not generally notable. KylieTastic (talk) 21:32, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello KylieTastic,

I made sure to add other citations from secondary sources that clearly defined the roles as mentioned to be true and having an impact on the region. Draft "Under My Skin" Review added

Hello, I have added a reliable review source to the article, fixed the link to ISFDB and removed the picture source. The book is very new, I will add more reviews as I find them. The article is an equivalent to "The Father of Lies" page, also a short story collection by the same author, K.J. Parker. I have copied the formatting from there.

I would like to add the cover picture under the fair use licence, as the cover can be easily found on Google. Though I haven't figured out how to do that exactly, yet. Regards, Hstracker90 (talk) 09:57, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Hstracker90 please see Wikipedia:Notability (books) for what is required for the notability of books. Just existence is not enough even if the author is notable. So you'll need to find another good review. I didn't even realise K. J. Parker was tom Holt! I read the The Engineer trilogy - really good. As for the image, yes a cover picture under the fair use licence is fine but that is not valid in draft so add if/when accepted. I seen something under the name Draft:Joseph L. Roberts Jr. I tried messaging the creator of Draft:Joseph L. Roberts Jr. But their account is four days old. I seen something that said {{cite web}}: Missing or empty |title= (help) May I please try to help. Please give yourself some time to think. Now I vanish! CouchPotato0209 (talk) 12:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi CouchPotato0209 I've fixed those cite errors they were just missing title= parameters. I've also left the creator a welcome message. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:25, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Gabrielhussein503

It seems that your post on 9 May was largely ignored. As we now know, this was an elaborate hoax, which is what you said it appeared to be. I wonder why your report was ignored. Phase of the moon? Snow in Tierra del Fuego? Robert McClenon (talk) 17:14, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Robert McClenon yup I was surprised. It seemed like the clearest case of hoax/fiction guff, a couple of kids making stuff up for fun. It's one reason why I generally stay away from ANI, my own fault for trying to do things the quick way, rather than just commenting and tagging each as G3. As usual though we got there in the end. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 17:22, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
    • Yes. I thought of just tagging them as G3, but I realized that an explanation of why each of them was a hoax would be needed. That is, there would have to be a report explaining what the falsehood was. At least they are deleted now, and the originator is blocked. But the activity was sort of continuing for three unnecessary days. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:30, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

Some guidance

I'd love some more guidance on how to get the Sportsnaut submission approved. It's clearly legit, been in business for years, has made some news, etc. Are we doing something wrong? RJCarr72 (talk) 15:12, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi RJCarr72 the criteria for being a valid topic for an article is not being real or legit but being 'notable'. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Currently your sources do not show notability: [1] is just the website itself, [2] is PR, [3] medium.com is general not a reliable source and it's an interview so not independent, [4] is just a listing, [5] is a dead link and [6] is just a passing mention. 2023 Michigan State soccer

Hey can you help me with the 2023 Michigan State soccer page I work so hard. It took me forever to make it. How can I keep it on Wikipedia? Kevinthomas20 (talk) 02:28, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi, KylieTastic to meet you. May I ask why you refused the publication of Salvatore Ruocco's page? I think it has all the references to be on wikipedia and publish the page. thanking you in advance Cinefilm (talk) 19:33, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Dear KylieTastic I will try to improve. I'm not that good, but I'll learn I thank you

  • Hi Cinefilm everybody has to learn and everyone makes mistakes, as long as someone has good intentions that's all we care about - that's why we have the guideline Wikipedia:Assume good faith. Hello

Please help with getting my article apporoved. Mmafanguru (talk) 11:06, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Mmafanguru sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Draft:Brandon Olson is submitted so some reviewer will pick up in due time. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:00, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

Pililaau Army Recreation Center revision

Thanks for spotting the mistake I made over on the page for Pililaau Army Recreation Center! I must've not been paying attention to whether the typos I was fixing were in images or not :P Suntooooth (talk) 14:24, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Suntooooth no worries, I think it was not helped by the image being in the block of text rather than on a new line - that makes them harder to spot when your concentrating on the words. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:40, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Jasper Shade has a TV show.

Jasper Shade is a well known mentalist in Denmark. He has his own TV show and has consulted on movies. I forgot to add the information about the serie in DK. Please reread the submission again and see what he is known for. SundayNinja (talk) 17:27, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for the help. This man has really touched my soul with his show about empathy so I wanted to make this. Can you help me understand how to add a infobox? SundayNinja (talk) 18:07, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
SundayNinja I have added the basic template that you can fill out details in - for all the supported parameters see Template:Infobox person. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:11, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
You have been very welcoming and helpfull. Thanks a million! Do you think it is ready for submission now? SundayNinja (talk) 19:13, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
SundayNinja it is submitted already so will be reviewed, their are a lot of outstanding submissions due to lack of reviewers so it may take some time, but also someone could pick it up soon. KylieTastic (talk) 21:11, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

Telugu Talons page

Hello, could you please help me understand why this page is rejected due to citations? We have more citations than the league itself (Premier Handball League), which has been approved. Since this is a totally new league and a totally new team, coverages on information such as the 2023 roster can only come from the team itself. Is there something I'm missing? PixelStudiosSocial (talk) 10:42, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi PixelStudiosSocial all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). The first source does not appear to mention them, the second does but says little more than they exist and are joining the league, the third is a LinkedIn profile not an independent reliable source, the last is just there own social medial so again not an independent reliable source. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:52, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
I understand now. Thanks for the feedback. I have removed those sources, and replaced them with three newspaper articles and a directly link from the league itself, showing our 2023 lineup. Please take a look and let me know if there are still deficiencies in citation. Thank you! PixelStudiosSocial (talk) 08:25, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi PixelStudiosSocial sounds good - however to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. I've checked it is submitted so it will be reviewed at some point. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:24, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
Thank you so much. I appreciate your fairness and professionalism. PixelStudiosSocial (talk) 10:38, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Multiple Issues

Hi @KylieTastic, looks like I spoke too soon. There are now 'multiple issues' with the South Pacific WWII Museum article. Not big ones just confusing for a newbie - which is my greatest criticism of Wikipedia, nothing is simple and you often have to go from one link to another, to another to try and figure things out.

Anyway, enough of that, the article supposedly has MOS issues. that's fine, but unless an editor or a bot or whoever it is actually highlights the issue in the text, how will I know what it is?

The next is the issue of it being an orphan. Well I used the tool and found two links on Wikipedia to link to. But trying to make sense of what to do with the found links and how to link my article to them is just too complex again. Evidently I have to put the links in my article but the instructions don't explain where.

Plus down the bottom there was a request for more categories. That was easy and I did that and added four.

Your advice would be fantastic, when you have a moment. Cheers. Santoman (talk) 09:38, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Santoman, ah yes the fun of maintenance tags :) As you note some are easier such as adding more categories and just to note that once you believe you have fixed an issue you can just manually remove the tag yourself. Someone did that for you while fixing another issue with the ategories. As for being an orphan that just means one or more articles should link to it in the article text i.e. [[South Pacific WWII Museum]] to produce a link like South Pacific WWII Museum. The idea being that there is always a way to find articles from others so people can get endlessly lost down the rabbit hole. I have added one to Luganville#World_War_II and linked the publisher ref on Vanuatu so this search show 2 extra links.
As for the last one... the copy edit tag is not as clear as the other two issues. MOS stands for the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. I'm and engineer by training and a software engineer by trade so the magic of some of the MOS is not my strong point, luckily the Wiki Gnomes often soon turn up and fix my errors in my articles. Once tagged it is listed in categories for copy editors to find, but is one of ~1850 waiting (see Category:All articles needing copy edit). The tag does highlight one issue "ref/punct interaction" which means the reference tag should go after the punctuation. Which while I agree looks better I would not have added a tag for just this as I think the tag is a bigger issue for readers than the problem. However I fixed with this edit. I have scanned the rest and my engineer brain sees nothing, maybe you could ask UtherSRG who added the tag if they see any other issues, or ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse where there will be some more familiar with the complete MOS. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:08, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
@KylieTastic: There was another. I fixed it. I've been doing AFC/recent patrolling in bulk, and tagging everything I see is simpler than pausing to make the edits on each article. Then other gnomes can deal with fixing things. If I hit a pause, or an article with just one thing to fix, I'll do some fixes myself. (And I'm a software developer myself... XD) @Santoman: Your additional categories were not the best. Categories that contain other categories that are already on the article should not be added to the article. I've adjusted the category tags. As for not understanding or knowing what to do: asking the person who put the tags on or asking on the talk page of the article are usually the easiest and quickest ways to get answers. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:24, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
@UtherSRGThanks for your edits. The categories thing I was not aware of, but I'll make sure I don't do that in the future. And you're right, asking the tagger is the best way to get the answers to editing queries. Cheers. Santoman (talk) 22:54, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
@Santoman: It might not be the fastest, but it is one of the fast routes. There are probably five other routes you can go, if you want more rabbit holes... XD Cheers! - UtherSRG (talk) 23:04, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
@Santoman: Whoops... I typo'd your name so you never got ping'd. - UtherSRG (talk) 01:07, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
@UtherSRGAll good, thanks for the heads up. Santoman (talk) 02:24, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
Thanks again for your help. The Wiki rabbit hole is indeed a very deep one. And then once you're down there, you have so many ways to branch off and keep going! Thanks for all the great advice and help in ironing out the wrinkles. I'll also remember to ask the 'tagger' too. Definitely the quickest way to get an answer. Cheers. Santoman (talk) 22:41, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

So uhm I dont rlly understand why the page i attempted to make for Rit Harrison was rejected if it's still about a major league player regardless of if he played in one game a hundred and 48 years ago. i mean we allow pages for people like this clown, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denny_Clare so why not Harrison? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BFlamer99 (talkcontribs) 19:11, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi BFlamer99 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). We used to have a policy that allowed for an automatic notability of some sportspeople if they had just played at a certain level - that was removed and there are a lot of existing articles left to re-review. Also Denny Clare was created in 2010 long before many policies and guidelines were created. These old articles require the reviewer to check that the subject is not notable before nominating for deletion, whereas for drafts submitted to AfC it is for the submitter to provided the sources to show they are notable. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:26, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

Salting

Sometimes it is best to not salt them, as they dont get approved and are a flashing "LOOK AT ME" light to patrollers. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 11:21, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey ScottishFinnishRadish yup I agree if not salted it does make the next puppet easier to catch, but I have also seen some admins salt drafts to try to stop some tedious recreation (which sometimes works). I will leave it in the wise hands of the admin-corps :) Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:25, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic How are you? Since the last time you refused me Salvatore Ruocco's DRAFT page, I've worked a lot on it: I've improved it a lot, also adding new sources. Can you kindly take a look? if its ok if you can approve it? I worked hard and I would be happy if it was approved. I hope it gets approved. I thank you in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinefilm (talkcontribs) 19:53, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Cinefilm, yes I declined Draft:Salvatore Ruocco before as you had no sources. I notice you pointed out that Nello Mascia is just as bad, this is true but it was created in 2016 before we added this review system to stop adding more badly sourced articles. It is more likely that Nello Mascia would be deleted than another article accepted just pointing to IMDB which is a terrible source. It needs someone to review and either improve or flag for deletion. You have added sources to your article and it is submitted so it's just waiting for a reviewer to pick it up. Sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 21:05, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic In addition to being a great professional, you are a very kind person: thank you for answering me. I hope there is someone who accepts my front page. I love wikipedia very much and support it very much. Thanks again — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinefilm (talkcontribs) 18:49, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Thanks!

Just wanted to thank you for helping me out with the citation of one of my sources via the Wayback Machine! I really appreciate the edit, I could not figure out how to format it and it was driving me nuts! Have a great night! SoonersFan77 (talk) 21:04, 18 June 2023 (UTC)

Hey--I think I saw you reviewing/copy editing similar articles earlier today. I just blocked the user as a sock; my suspicion was that it was related to ... dang I forgot the name, but it's not him. Instead, they're a sock of User:Krasius1090, and I have no doubt that there are more socks. In other words, please keep this in mind if you see any more "Battle of" articles--I have a feeling that I've seen a ton of those come by in recent weeks. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:04, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Drmies, yup I had my suspicions something was aboot. If a new editor starts creating drafts end-on-end I tend to ask "sock or copy vios?". Glad you solved that one and yes there has been a ton of "Battle of" articles the last few days - Bloop 91 is another account I've noticed. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:06, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
    • Thanks! So Bloop is now blocked; they were a sock of User:Shockwave82838366, which pretty clearly is a sock of much older account, as far as I can tell. I don't think they are the same sock as the one we're dealing with, but CU does not exclude it. I'm wondering how to proceed. If you don't mind, keep this in mind as you're going through article submissions; we might see a pattern emerge now we now what to look for. And if you feel like filing an SPI for either one, go ahead--or, perhaps, you look at the accounts and decide, after a detailed investigation, that they are the same after all? I looked at another one (from List of battles between Mughals and Sikhs) but decided it wasn't them because of a minor capitalization issue. Good fun! Drmies (talk) 22:42, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
      • Drmies, I just noticed Mrwiki1220 with more "Battle of" drafts awaiting review. They have been about from a couple of weeks before Shockwave82838366 was blocked so may just be a coincidence. They started with Draft:Battle of Dodota which has reached the end of the !queue — Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:47, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
        • OK--found one sock of theirs already: Indianforc3378. Drmies (talk) 14:35, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

why you delete my page man — Preceding unsigned comment added by IntervoidWiki (talkcontribs) 17:06, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

  • I can't remember what was in draft from June 11 - but from the tags it clearly was not a serious attempt to write an article. KylieTastic (talk) 17:09, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that this draft article was declined for submission on the basis that it did not have enough independent/secondary sources, etc.

The reason we are trying to create this [Modern Rail Capital]article is because there was a recent change in ownership of the company from Mitsui Rail Capital to JA Mitsui Leasing.

The very first Google search result pulls information from Mitsui Rail Capital on wikipedia, which is causing some confusion and a potential legal issue (since Mitsui Rail Capital no longer owns the company - and the company has been renamed to Modern Rail Capital). Is there any guidance you can provide to help us meet the standard for approval?

Thanks, JesseSeverson (talk) 21:24, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi JesseSeverson it was declined because you just had a single source that did not show notability. I see you have added more sources so once you've finished updating and adding sources for the claims just re-submit. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 21:52, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Draft:2022 Winter Military Games

what was the issue with the references? it has the same amount as most of the other years about this sport event. Turnbom (talk) 02:24, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Turnbom when I reviewed it had one source saying it was cancelled and that was primary. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). I haven't looked at the new ones, but I doubt that a cancelled event is notable. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:45, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Adminship?

Just wondered if you had considered running for adminship before/yet, or whether it was something you want to avoid at all costs? You'd be a great admin in my mind, doubtless. :) Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 16:27, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Mattdaviesfsic thanks for the vote of confidence. I have been asked a few times and would be happy to help out but the RFA process is still too toxic IMHO. I know I don't have the GA's and FA's that many want and have not done enough in admin-ish areas of the project for others. Maybe one day, but for now life has enough issues without volunteering for a virtual kicking. Thanks anyway, I appreciate it. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:49, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
I just remembered it was DGG who asked last - still can't believe he's gone :/ KylieTastic (talk) 16:50, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Blue Ace

The references are quite specific and clearly shows the subject name but somehow was rejected, I'd like to know why? The subject mentioned is a well known figure in Zambia and has played a pivotal role in modern day arts. And the reference provided clearly shows the relevance. Kindly enlighten me as to why it was declined and the way forward. Precious Chisanga (talk) 07:47, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Precious Chisanga, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) - also see WP:MUSICBIO. Most of your article is unsourced, you have a spotify link that shows they have just 4 monthly listeners which would suggest not notable, the second link does not mention them and then a video of an ad. KylieTastic (talk) 09:00, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

Liz

Please do feel free to correct anything I said or if you have a better way of getting the 'picture' across. I also left a note a Primefac's talk page because like you, I can't see things in the same way admins do so he might be able to add some clarity. Granted it shouldn't be this hard but Liz is good admin so hopefully something will get it to click for her. S0091 (talk) 21:03, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey S0091, yes Liz does a huge amount and is a good admin, it's just this one thing that is an odd blind-spot. Its frustrating and I know Primefac has been rather frustrated about this for a while as well. Part of the problem is editors who turn of notifications just miss so much of discussions (assuming she still does), even though that should not be an issue now you can subscribe to individual sections. I've said my piece and leave it there and hope we don't see this issue again. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:17, 28 June 2023 (UTC)

How will I find sources?

Hello, KylieTastic. So I noticed you declined my submission, but I was not even sure how to properly add sources. It's really hard for me to do it and it really stresses me out. Also, this is my first time ever trying to create a page like this, so can you point out some tips on adding sources when you get the chance? I would appreciate it. Thanks. Sahas P. (talk) 18:45, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

I put numerous links to prove the fact yet still not enough?

I really dont understand Just type my name into any search engine I am in the public domain for many things Music (45 Albums) Books 23 avail on amazon Waterstones etc I am listed in the Directory of Guitar Makers and none of this is enough? ShadowRuby2023! (talk) 17:54, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) See WP:COI - you are strongly advised against creating or editing an article about yourself. Most of the links are to Amazon, which isn't even a reliable source (WP:RSPS), and the links are not even formatted properly as references (see WP:EL). Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 17:57, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Can you check it now?

Hello, Kylie, it's me again. I have put up to 15 sources in the Draft:U.S. Route 30 in Wyoming page, just as the reason for declining the submission stated. I'm a little nervous to ask (just feeling a little cowardly), but when you get the chance, could you please check to make sure that the sources are all right? After you can, please reach out back to me ASAP and I will answer quickly. Thanks. Sahas P. (talk) 15:24, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Sahas P., you asked Fredddie first who is much better placed to judge on these types of article. They said it would benefit from a history section and I agree, but if that is enough to stop it getting accepted I'm not sure without a deeper look. Sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. If you wanted to submit for review then the worst that could happen is another decline and a that does not mean the subject is not notable and just needs a bit more work. Also if not picked up in the first few days there could still be time for you, Fredddie or others to improve before the next review. If you have done all you can maybe just submitting to get input is the best plan. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:43, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Right. Ok, I will see if it gets accepted; if not, then I'll try and add a history section. Sahas P. (talk) 18:49, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

hi there i have many confusion about article submission can you please guide me in a proper way

i have tried many times to publish but it decline why is this happening to me i am very disappointed Harry rerok (talk) 12:46, 6 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Harry rerok, Draft:Girls leaving high school basketball is written like an essay rather than an encyclopedic article, that feels more like opinion than fact. Firstly all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Secondly all content needs to be sourced, you currently have one source that is written like a personal blog post. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:49, 6 July 2023 (UTC)

Request on 19:39:17, 12 July 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by 99.44.16.113

Draft article Benjamin J. Bowman has listed references that are independent from the subject. While he is not specifically renown within an audience outside of Hungary, he is still a notable subject. More references were added in order to back up this claim, but some of the articles are entirely in Hungarian. He was also featured on National Hungarian Radio. The article has largely been created following the publishing of a VoyageLA magazine article and his iMDB page.

This is the Hungarian language article of the same person. Maybe there are editors that can help more with translation. Seems like multiple iMDB pages were used as sources for that article. 99.44.16.113 (talk) 21:32, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

Your sources currently are basic listings/mentions so only show she exists and plays but no depth of coverage to show she is notable enough for her own article. However all Wikipedias have there own policies and guidelines so just because it exists on one does not make it suitable for others. All Wikipedias grow they tend to get more strict and English Wikipedia probably has the most policies and guidelines. Up until a couple of years ago many sports people who played at the top level were deemed notable, but that changed so they now need significant coverage like most other people. This is why you'll still find many existing stubs which would no longer be accepted at AfC. These are slowly being improved or deleted. However 関菜々巳 does have 26 sources so hopefully you can find enough in the sources to build a suitable English version. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:28, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the incredible help @KylieTastic! Regards Kinnydiaper64 (talk) 11:29, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

Welcome headers

Hello, KylieTastic,

I spend a lot of time on the talk pages of new editors and I often run into Welcome messages you have posted but they don't have any header. So, on about 5-10 talk pages/day, I add headers to your Welcome messages so that the page won't be disorganized. I know I've mentioned this to you before years ago and then you started adding headers but recently, you stopped. I'm looking at talk page messages posted in January 2023 so maybe your posting habits have changed in the past six months. But if the Welcome message has a header, then the Table of Contents appears above it instead of below it and it makes the talk page look less top-heavy. If you could alter your settings to include these headers, it would really save me some time. I'll admit, maybe it's just a presentation thing that drives me crazy but I also genuinely think it helps make the new editor's talk page more readable.

Thanks, again, for all of the many, many things you do on the project. Liz Read! Talk! 04:37, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Liz sorry but I don't think you have mentioned this directly to me. In December 2021 you created Talk page header on user pages but that was about the order of the Welcome vs a standard Talk page header. This was a Twinkle issue, so I raised a change request for it here and it was fixed with this. In May 2022 you came back with the same with User Talk page headers I pointed out it was fixed and you were looking at the past, but as I understand you have notifications disabled so I assume you did not see. I understand that with the huge amount of edits you do that you get swamped by pings, but I would ask that you consider subscribing to sections where you have asked questions if you don't already.
I have not changed what I do ,which is use Twinkle to welcome, and I'm not aware the behaviour has changed so this like the last issue is an issue with Twinkle for all Twinkle users that welcome (at the top) and it was not something you mentioned in your original issue with order where you were just re-ordering. As far as I can see there is no Twinkle preference for this, so if you want it changed you will need to request at Twinkle so see if there is consensus for a change. If so it will be request on github, then done at some point and released some time in the future. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:44, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

What is wrong with you

Do you not know how to put in citations, like my god. On my draft the battle of kemi, did you even check the sources, like where are the citation box. Do you not know ho2 to edit articles, and use citations Redyr iksachli (talk) 18:15, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Redyr iksachli sure. When a source is used multiple times instead of adding the full source the ref has a unique name added such as <ref name="anyname1"> actual source </ref> - then when you wan to use again you just use <ref name="anyname1" />. The source is then only listed once in the reference section, but it has letters for each instance that you can select. So on Draft:Battle of Kemi your primary source was used four times you'll see it has a,b,c,d next to it. See Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Repeated_citations for the full help, part of Wikipedia:Citing sources that is a lot of info on the full topic. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:33, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

Request on 17:54:02, 29 July 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by Tuesp1985

Due to the rejection of the Opinion polling for the 2026 Portuguese presidential election, I don't understand what kind of changes can be made. The page is similar to other polling wikipedia pages and it will be updated as time goes by as more polling will be available and official candidates will appear. Again, would like to ask what kind of changes can be made. Thank you.

Tuesp1985 (talk) 17:54, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Tuesp1985, sorry my mistake - I completely missed the inline sources. Although with zero other sources about the election it would still have a good chance of being returned to draft again as it was the first time. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:08, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

Draft:2023–24 Danish 3rd Division

the 2023–24 Danish 3rd Division is just like the previus season: 2022–23 Danish 3rd Division. and this time whit a ref to officel site. what needs to be don ? regards johnbp2 Johnbp2 (talk) 06:10, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Johnbp2 the 2022–23_Danish_3rd_Division is not a great example of a good article but does at least have some more sources and content. I've sure Draft:2023–24 Danish 3rd Division will be notable, but at the moment it just looks like a placeholder. From a reader point of view it gives little information and nothing more than https://3-division.dk/ which they could find easily with a google etc. It also links to https://dbu.dk/resultater/pulje/388683 which is the 2022/23 as well. You do not even have a source to check which clubs are playing this season and the info in "Stadia and locations". I would assume this close to the season start some more sources are avaibale, please add and re-submit. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:46, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

I need assistance with one of my articles and would appreciate it if you will listen to my concerns.

Dear @KylieTastic I've been working on an article for the past four months and have continuously submitting it as an Afc draft. First and foremost, it has taken far too long to receive an update on the article, which is really inconvenient. I submitted everything again using a different account in the hopes of getting approval, but it still didn't work.

I've already edited it more than 50 times, and I think that's enough. It's disheartening to see a page like Wikipedia push your patience to the limit, and as a result, the effort and time of many people is wasted as a result of the backlog and decline of articles. And when you resubmit it with so much research or improvement, it gets struck for eternity till the draft article is deleted.

I simply want you to look at it and let me know if there are any improvements that need to be made, or you may change it yourself, and if you are convinced, it would be wonderful if you could move this article to the main space.

Thank you for listening; I will wait for your response, brother. Best regards, @Harry S Truman72

The link of the article is provided below :

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Noida_International_University Harry S Truman72 (talk) 12:40, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Harry S Truman72 firstly using multiple accounts is not allowed, also why start a new one, was the last one blocked? I see no evidence in the logs of this being previously submitted, I can see that Noida International University was deleted from mainspace May 9, 2023 as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". And it looks likely your socking with another account ApexLegends189 and the article has been tagged for deletion by an admin I trust completely so I won't be looking further at this. KylieTastic (talk) 14:04, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Hey listen brother, first and foremost, I apologised since I was worried and didn't want my primary account to be affected as it was written in that do not delete this notice from pages that you have created yourself, which is why. Please don't do this brother, I left a message so I could improve and learn but by doing this you will negatively impact me and destroy my efforts and hope.. give me atleast a chance and warning that what is wrong and needs to be improved this is not the way you don't know how much i have gone through due to all of this...And i will reply to each and every query of yours but at first give me an opportunity to do so. Harry S Truman72 (talk) 14:26, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Harry S Truman72 as an admin has tagged Draft:Noida International University for deletion there is nothing I can do. Once tagged it is an admin issue and I am not one. You can contest the tag with the big blue button that says "Contest this speedy deletion". Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:31, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Anani Mohamed

Hi KylieTastic, regarding https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Anani_Mohamed, what more citing is necessary? This player's career and achievements are outlined in all sources. Can you please assist why this page continues being deleted? Globalsoccerhero (talk) 16:03, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Please read WP:REFB to understand how to properly add references. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:47, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Globalsoccerhero when I declined you one source. "Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic" (see WP:42). Your new sources are basically just listings and passing mentions and lack depth of coverage of the subject. Such sources are fine as references to verify claims but do not help show notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:20, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Understood. What would be an example of an article with significant coverage of football players? Some of the sources show his team, accomplishments, etc...not sure what other articles can be produced. Globalsoccerhero (talk) 18:13, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
The references need to show significant coverage. Please read and understand WP:SIGCOV. Please read and understand all of the links that have been provided to you, instead of asking questions whose answers are in those links. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:18, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Question about Crunchbase as a valid source

Hey KylieTastic,

Since I'm not an expert with Wikipedia and I don't want to reverse your edit, I wanted to ask you about Crunchbase here regarding the Vitadao draft article.

I know that Crunchbase is not considered as a valid source (Wikipedia warned me when I added it). But I was under impression the link I posted would be ok:

"In the 2019 RfC, there was consensus to deprecate Crunchbase, but also to continue allowing external links to the website. A significant proportion of Crunchbase's data is user-generated content."

But the article seems to be part of Crunchbase News written by editors and not UGC: https://news.crunchbase.com/

https://news.crunchbase.com/health-wellness-biotech/pharmaceuticals-blockchain-crypto-web3-pfizer-pfe/

Anyway, I understand it might still not be a good source, I understand of course :)

@Keepx Keepx (talk) 17:01, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Keepx, any source that is designated as "deprecated" by community consensus is considered not valid in almost all cases (see WP:DEPREC), such sources can be found at the list at WP:RSPSOURCES. My understanding is that this applies to the news side as well but I agree it is not clearly stated. Some 'news' article I've seen used as sources on it are clearly based on press releases, churnalism. Yes it is not direct user-generated content but looked down on and thus not a good as a reliable source. There are old discussions on the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard with no clear outcome. The article in question also uses a lot of direct quotes so not independent and also quotes from "Crunchbase data" (if only trivially) so based on depreciated sources. Note it is also about blockchain which is under "General sanctions" see Wikipedia:General sanctions/Blockchain and cryptocurrencies so generally it is expected for such articles to use good sources - although I see little to worry about in your article in that sense - unlike the endless blockchain/cryptocurrency spam that is submitted. Also the source appeared to be redundant as used in the same place as other sources (although I did not cross check every claim). So as the article was already sent to draft as not being ready I would concentrate on not using any doubtful sources. At the moment, without doing a full review, it appears to reply heavily on primary sources which does not help notability. Hope that helps. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 17:58, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the detailed answer!

Broken Citations

Hi KylieTastic, thank you for helping me format so many citations properly on my new article List of graduate student employee unions! However, some of the links are now broken. Could you please fix the links that used to work? Thanks very much!! I really appreciate your help. (I've also added this name note to the Talk page of the article, in case it reaches you first.) AJVincelli (talk) 16:49, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi AJVincelli, I took a quick look and did not see anything obvious that was broke (but I did see the tool had not done the best job with things that need a login) - was there anything specific? I'll have another look tomorrow when I have more time. KylieTastic (talk) 20:10, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
Agreed, I think it's mainly the Facebook and Instagram citations. Can those be fixed with your tool, or reverted back to the original web addresses? I can go through the other citations and fix things like #66 (I have no idea what those superscripts are), #70 has no title, #135 (it just says HOME, which isn't very descriptive lol), etc. Thank you!!! AJVincelli (talk) 04:23, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi AJVincelli, I've been though the links, and fixed up some. We generally do not like social media links as they are generally unreliable and so I have removed extras. Ideally we would have none, but we should have no more than one per item. There are a couple of dead links I;ve marked inline and a file just uploaded to a google drive account is also not valid. Also several sites have invalid https certificates which hardly makes them look like trustworthy sites! As the issues I found are now marked inline I did remove the "Citations broken" tag from the top as these "there are problems somewhere in this article" tags are not very helpful to readers or editors trying to improve. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:28, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
Hi @KylieTastic, thank you so much for reviewing the citations! Yes, I’m also talking to another person about the dubious citations (on the article’s Talk page), and I definitely have more to learn. I’m reading up on the Wiki rules and regs, and I’m doubtful that the article citations in their current form are appropriate. I’ll be working on somehow fixing this asap. If you have any ideas, please let me know! Thanks very much again. AJVincelli (talk) 03:21, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic. Thank you for reviewing the draft. I have an inquiry, is it right to write the question here? I don't know where to write down the questions for you, so I leave them like this.

I want to know exactly why the draft of this link "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cake_(Software) " was rejected. How can I fix it to get approval? If you let me know in detail, I will try to fix it as much as possible. I'll be waiting for the reply. I look forward to your kind cooperation. Seokkk (talk) 11:52, 10 August 2023 (KST)

  • Hi Seokkk, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Your first two links are just where to download so just promotional rather than an Encyclopedic reference. The third and fifth sources are just PR, so not independent reliable sources, and the last source also appears to just be more self produced promotional content. Basically Wikipedia does not care what subjects say about themselves but what others say about them. Hope that helps, Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:47, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

What mistakes have i made in my article about Meer Akhtar Hussain

Meer Akhtar Hussain is a well known figure in Indian National Congress who is considered a close associate of Rahul Gandhi. He is also a part of WithRG, and Zonal Coordinator of RGPRS which is a internal organisational team build by Rahul Gandhi and also works for the progress and considered to be candidate for lok sabha in upcoming election. So we believe he is a potential figure whose artice should be present in Wikipedia Amreshkr20 (talk) 11:01, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Amreshkr20 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also see WP:NPOL which defines what is considered notable for politicians. So as they do not appear to be elected WP:NBASIC is the policy we would use. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:34, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Amreshkr20 please see WP:NPOL for which type of elected position are notable. Also information needs to be referenced with independent reliable sources. KylieTastic (talk) 12:01, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Regarding Notability of an Article

Hello KylieTastic, Recently I saw an article named Taran adarsh an found that this Article does not Pass the Wikipedia notability guidelines, because first of all it does not cite any source (one is cited which is an interview in which there is no details about him) second on searching web i didn't find any reputable or reliable source which have at least single standalone article on him or talk about him, I am a new editor on Wikipedia but I think that for notability in depth sources or Quality sources required, hence I think this article should be draftified until it gains notability or to nominate it for deletion. Thank you WikiAnchor10 (talk) 11:21, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi WikiAnchor10, I've only taken a quick look but yes I agree it does look like they are probably not-notable. An older version has more sources but they are almost all about what he says and little about him. He does however have 4M twitter/X followers that means nothing on its own but does indicate he is not a nobody. For such old articles draftification is not really appropriate, it should go via WP:AFD (that could end up in draftification). The easiest way to submit to AfD if using Wikipedia:Twinkle. I suggest enabling that tool and then you will find a new "TW" drop-down menu next to "More" at the top-right and in that "XFD" that includes AfD. It appears you have no AfD !votes at the moment so a good case to start with. The important thing is you have not just looked at the sources as presented but searched for if they exists, which is an important part of the AfD process (see WP:BEFORE). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:48, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

How do I improve my article

Can you please suggest me how do I improve my this draft article Draft:Dono (2023 film). Thank you WikiAnchor10 (talk) 19:14, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi WikiAnchor10, your draft is submitted so you will get feedback when it's reviewed. See Wikipedia:Notability (films) for the criteria that are used for films. Also as this is a future film see the section WP:NFF. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:04, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
But how do I upload the theatrical release poster of this movie because when I uploaded it ,the poster was deleted. WikiAnchor10 (talk) 04:01, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi WikiAnchor10, such images are are almost always copyrighted so cannot be uploaded to commons. Such images can be uploaded locally here as Wikipedia:Non-free content but only if used in a valid article, not a draft. So once an article is accepted you can then upload a low-res version locally (See the "upload a non-free file" option at Wikipedia:File upload wizard). New pages patrol newsletter

Hello KylieTastic,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

Manis mysteria moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Manis mysteria. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and Mammal species need to be accepted by both IUCN and the ASM's MDD, or have other reputable secondary sources supporting it. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. UtherSRG (talk) 01:36, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi IdleMan, you corrected an image filename File:Microphotographs of Plasmodium vivax in Giemsa-stained thin blood films.jpg to File:Photomicrographs of Plasmodium vivax in Giemsa-stained thin blood films.jpg thus breaking the image as that name does not exist. If the image itself is incorrect then it should be removed, otherwise if it's just the filename then you would normally need to ask for a rename. However in this case the name comes from the source so the commons admins may decline - maybe a note on the file description of the issue would be helpful. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:29, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, KylieTastic. Whereas my expertise includes knowing when a photomicrograph is not a microphotograph (I have taken plenty of the former pictures in the laboratory), it does not extend to dealing with matters such as you describe. So from my side, I'll do nothing further other than point out the problem on the article's talk page. I'll just accept that the mistake is there and make a plan to live happily ever after, despite that. IdleMan (talk) IdleMan (talk) 19:18, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
  • Hi IdleMan, I realised the description on the article also used Microphotographs so I corrected that. Most will readers will never notice the actual filename. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:31, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
Noted, KylieTastic. Thanks. In the meantime, I had added a note to the Plasmodium vivax talk page. Won't lose any sleep over the matter now. 'Bye IdleMan (talk) IdleMan (talk) 19:49, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

To whom it may concern,

I have reviewed your concerns about the article. I will just add that, I am a primary source (i.e. information has been passed on through word of mouth to me) of the information of this festival and the sources that were added were merely placeholders.

Cheers.

Regarding Prime Minister of India

Hello KylieTastic, I want to edit India Prime Minister Narendra Modi article because I want to write about the Indian Economy and GDP changes under his governance from 2014 to 2023. But I don't know the location in his article where do I write about these economic changes and GDP changes , and what should be the Proper Title for such section. Can you suggest me ?? Tyson Bidner

He is a notable person. There are entire stories featured about him in various reliable sources. I'm new to Wikipedia and just trying to help a friend get a little more recognition. I'm not being paid and he didn't ask me to do this. I'm just proud of him. Can you help me to make the article about Tyson Bidner up to Wikipedia's high standards as opposed to just trashing it completely? THANK YOU! Friendindeed613 (talk) 14:20, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Friendindeed613, no one is "just trashing it completely". Being notable means different thinks to different people - on Wikipedia is has a definition starting from Wikipedia:Notability and for people see Wikipedia:Notability (people) - but the key is summarised in WP:NBASIC. As was started in the decline comments most of the sources are just mentions with no depth. Some like the first variety reference do not even mention them. So if there are "entire stories featured about him" use those sources not ones that just list his name. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:29, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Thank you Kylie. My apologies as I'm new to wikipedia and it just seemed what i'm trying to do just keeps getting deleted, or trashed. Please see this article, which goes into depth about his skills as a producer: [1]. Can you help me to incorporate it into the wikipedia article about him? I do think between this PGA article about him and the article in Vulture [2] discussing his Canadian connection to Sandra Oh and the fact that he has won and is nominated for many awards makes him notable? Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:4041:5574:2A00:5890:5BBD:C2B9:68CC (talk) 14:35, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

References

  • Not a thing has been deleted or trashed on your article, the only thing that has happened is that is has been reviewed and declined in it's current form. The vulture article and is not about him but has quotes by him. That just leaves the producersguild.org with and content about him. We normally look for 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage. Also what awards has he personally won rather than things he has worked on winning them? The Whale (2022 film) lists a producer award from the producersguild but they list only Jeremy Dawson, Ari Handel and Darren Aronofsky who appears to be the producers where Bidner was one of the five executive producers. For The Bear (TV series) he is actually listed as one of the six winning producers based on https://deadline.com/2023/02/2023-pga-awards-winners-list-producers-guild-1235267002/ even though he appears to be the only producer which is odd. Note that a decline is not saying he is not notable but that the sources do not show that he is. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 15:19, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Afc submission pending for more than 4 months

Article Draft:Vyom Yadav was rejected by you. I addressed the issues and requested again for review. Now it's more than 4 months but it is still pending for review. –Brar (Talk) 14:45, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Brar, unfortunately these is a constant backlog of reviews with a couple of hundred daily submissions. Currently there are 2,391 pending submissions with the longest waiting 4+ months and still in the category AfC pending submissions by age/4 months ago with ~90 that have been waiting longer then you have. Unfortunately there are never enough volunteers, so unfortunately all you can do is be patient a little longer until someone picks it up. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Expanded section issue

Hi KylieTastic, Hope you are doing well. Can you tell me, How to solve the issue of expanded section in wikipedia articles? Look at this article, in mobile view all the sections are opened and it is hard to view even though I didn't enable Expand all the sections through my settings. Fade258 (talk) 10:06, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Fade258, sorry I looked but I don't see the issue as I see no collapsed sections. I don't use mobile much and if I do like viewing messages here I have it always show in desktop mode anyway. I would suggest asking at the Wikipedia:Teahouse as there are likely to be editors who do know about the issues with mobile use. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 12:05, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. It is quite strange that only India at the 2022 Asian Games had this issue. Other articles similar to this have not issue in mobile view like Nepal at the 2022 Asian Games, Pakistan at the 2022 asian Games, Bangladesh at the 2022 Asian Games, etc. Fade258 (talk) 12:11, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

Request about lack of Citation and rejection of article

Good morning KylieTastic, hope all is going well

You recently rejected an article I wrote about Versfeld Pass. The reason you gave in your message was that it was dew to a lack of citation.

Now this is the third time that my article has been rejected on the premise of citation; I was just wondering if you could please explain to me what specifically what in my article is the problem or what I'm missing?

I have read through the Wikipedia articles on reliable sources, verified and Citing sources. And I still don't see what I'm missing, or what in my article would give cause for my article to be rejected?

Thank you so much for your time

All the best, DominusStella DominusStella (talk) 11:20, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi DominusStella, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). The version I reviewed (this) had three sources: the first did not mention Versfeld; the second was just a google maps link that does have a label of "versveldpas" but nothing else; the final one I could not access but assuming valid is not enough on it's own to show nobility and verify the claims. Hope that helps KylieTastic (talk) 12:17, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

2022 BK Häcken season

Hi KyleeTastic, just a question about the 2022 BK Häcken season article that you declined. You left the reason WP:Seasons as the reason for rejection. This was a title-winning season in the top professional football league in Sweden. The team contains multiple players who represent their countries. Many other teams in this league have individual season pages. The references used are frequently reliable, independent and commonly used in other football season articles. Do you think it still doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability requirements? No bother if it doesn't, of course. :) It's my first article, I was interested in this team and noticed that one didn't exist so I figured it would be fun to put it together myself. But before I let it expire, I thought I should just follow up. Thanks! Don Doncameron87 (talk) 20:34, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Doncameron87, firstly I'll note there is an issue with such articles as many do exist in main-space already for various reasons that are very bad. Many of these need either improving or deleting but do add a lot of confusion to good faith submissions via Draft/AfC. However, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). WP:NSEASONS: yes as you note if this is the top tier of the Swedish professional league it is probably a notable subject. However it really would benefit from a paragraph or two about the season (with sources) rather than just stats, and secondly you have only two sources and Transfermarkt is not considered a reliable source. It also appears to mostly be about the players and little about the actual season progression and team in general. So to answer you final question, I still don't think it shows notability as it stands but if you can find some more content with sources to add and resubmit I would think that the season of the winners of the Allsvenskan would be notable. Hope that make sense, Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:59, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the clarification! I think I'll pass though. Doncameron87 (talk) 06:42, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

Hello, my publication request was denied due to the subject not having "significant coverage." However, the citations listed are independent of the person that the article is about. The articles cited are published in national and international websites and magazines. However, at one point in the article, I did cite the artists webpage- if the webpage link is removed would the article meet publication standards? Thank you.

Knowledgebomb5000 (talk) 23:14, 14 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Knowledgebomb5000, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). When I reviewed you had three sources: the first just has the lead "About these photos" section and nothing else; the second is mostly interview so not independent, so fine as a source but not to show notability; the last appears to just be a follow request so no value as an encyclopedic source. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:21, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Dorian Nkono

Hi Kylie, are you able to provide some more specific feedback on why the article I submitted on Dorian Nkono was declined? It took me a while to create it, yet it was rejected within seconds of submitting for review, so I'm unsure how it could even have been reviewed thoroughly enough to determine anything? I combed through the possible reasons for rejection, but it didn't really enlighten me at all. I've submitted a very thorough article and properly referenced it, plus the artist definitely has enough of a public profile. Are you able to give me some further insight into what I can do specifically, to ensure it passes review? There are plenty of existing Wikipedia articles with far less content, so I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance! Missclaireallen (talk) 11:46, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Missclaireallen, firstly note that Other stuff exists is not a good argument (see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS) as it is more likely that those articles would be deleted (or improved) than help get new articles approved. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Your current sources are a non independent profile, a page that just returns a "Runtime Error", basic listings and simple name mentions. There is no depth about the subject that shows that they are notable, as Wikipedia defines it (see WP:NBASIC). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:53, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Oh don't get me wrong - I wasn't arguing - was just confused as to why mine wouldn't pass if Wikipedia had already confirmed other articles as being acceptable. It's the first article I've submitted, so just getting a feel for the parameters around how it works. The sites I referenced were directly from the official artist bio on his management's page, as well as from the official Ausstage library. I'm happy to submit further references that give more in depth detail but it's hard to know exactly which ones would be accepted or not - presumably a bit of guesswork and trial and error is involved? I'll keep trying though 😊 Missclaireallen (talk) 12:03, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
  • Missclaireallen, no worries most of us started the same way... Wikipedia has a lot of policies and guidelines and starting with a new article from scratch is considered one of the hardest thing to do. I would start with WP:NBASIC and see if you can identify articles about them with significant coverage. Look for newspapers and books etc and avoid all user-generated content such as IMDB, wikis, blogs etc. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:08, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the tips Kylie - I appreciate your help! Missclaireallen (talk) 12:10, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Dragon Ball Legends (2018 video game) citations cannot be found

I can't find any citations for my draft. When I try to search for a citation, it just gives me a citation for Dragon Lords. Can we please find a way around this? TheWikiGuy2552 (talk) 01:00, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi TheWikiGuy2552 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also articles need to be verifiable (WP:V. So if there are no sources there is no to verify fact from fiction and no way to show any notability. Promotional material

This moderator keeps reporting a serious project of a friend of mine as "promition". there is no reason for this to be considered promotional material, and is most definitely not intended to be. if there is literally any reason for it to be considered promotional, please reply to this message Jopje dropje (talk) 13:22, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Jopje dropje, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Something you wrote and uploaded to GitHub is not notable. Trying to included such a subject with no significant independent sources is what we call promoting. It's good that your passionate about programming, but Wikipedia is not a place to write about such projects. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:28, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
    1. i once again ask you to list an actual reason as to why its concidered promoting. you saying it "doesn't have enough sources" really does not make it any form of promotion magically.
    2. i literally did not make this project. i like it, personally use it and would like other people to know about it. Jopje dropje (talk) 13:32, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

River Light FC

Hey! I see you deliced my River Light FC, I was just wondering why? Not enough citations? Not enough info about the club? I just wanna know. Thanks :) RealCrazyboy (talk) 05:53, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi RealCrazyboy, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). The first source is from riverlightfc.com so not independent and both the other sources are basically about te same news event that they are joining the USL League next year. So not enough to show notability at this time and may just need time. Note that you also say they were founded in 2020 but appear to be just created from what I can see (no logo/kit etc and domain registered last month), claims like that need sources. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:19, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Bean Island Article

Hey Kylie, I wrote and article about this island named bean island in massachusetts. You rejected the article and stated that it wasn't adequately supported by reliable sources. I wrote that article on personal experience and info I, myself have gathered as I live within walking distance of the island. I didn't want to cite myself as i thought it would not be counted as a reliable source, so im confused of what/who to cite as almost all of the info in the article was observed by me. Cheers, Greenbeanbedroom  — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenbeanbedroom (talkcontribs) 16:51, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi Greenbeanbedroom, sorry but personal experience is not valid here as I'm sure you can understand that not everyone is truthful and many are just mistaken. Also Wikipedia is not just for any topic that exists but is notable as defined by Wikipedia:Notability. Basically, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). how do you add those info boxes to your personal page?

how do you do that? AidenJamesYt (talk) 14:56, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi AidenJamesYt the easiest way to see how such things are done are to look at the source for a page. The boxes I assume you mean are called "userboxes" - see Wikipedia:Userboxes for more information. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:59, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
what is a "transculation" AidenJamesYt (talk) 15:10, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
  • AidenJamesYt a transclusion is when a templates content is included into an article rather than adding the content directly. Another way to think of it is embedding other content into a page. see Help:Transclusion. For example you could add {{User YouTube}} to add Template:User YouTube to your user page. KylieTastic (talk) 15:19, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
thank you! AidenJamesYt (talk) 15:56, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Acidemia

May not need a separate page for acidemia which could get very large and involved, but if acidemia is not going to be an separate page, then the redirection from acidemia to acidosis should be deleted. One should not search Wikipedia for acidemia and get redirected to acidosis. I can suggest this edit if desired but i would rather not do it that way. Reknihtdivad (talk) 23:06, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Emmdas07, it's not my area of knowledge so this is just a layman's/procedural observation but at the moment Acidosis defines acidemia and is mentioned 10 times so it is a valid redirect as it stands. If as you say searching for acidemia should not take you to Acidosis then it stands that your saying that acidemia should be a separate page with a split of the content from acidosis. Such splits should be discussed on the articles talk page i.e. Talk:Acidosis. There is already some discussion already on the mix but not on splitting. It would probably be sensible to bring to the attention of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:49, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
I put my opinion on the Talk:Acidosis discussion. If there are 10 redirects of acidemia to acidosis then in my opinion there are 10 errors but I don't want to make 10 people mad. I am very much a newbie to Wikipedia editing so I consider myself naive to the process. I very much appreciate your expertise and direction. Please continue to provide it. Nomad eSIM - explanation

Hi you have rejected Nomad eSIM for the following:

I think that these are all met - two articles that go in-depth on the use Nomad, from the NYT and WSJ (reliable), secondary (very much so they review the app without any connection to us) and certainly independent. What needs to happen to get approval? Thank you. Stephenjkrajewski (talk) 10:00, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Stephenjkrajewski, the NYT is a reliable source but is largely just about eSIMs in general with just Nomad as a worked example so I would count this as a partial credit for the in-depth requirement; WSJ is a reliable source but I don't have access to so I just assumed it was a good source. The final independent source is just a listing. Normally we look for 3+ good sources with significant content, so not enough yet for notability. Also the NYT and WSJ sources are not used as sources - just for statements that they have reviewed the subject. The leaves the main content as unsourced or based of the non-independent source. It also reads as written by someone with a WP:COI which it was (thanks for declaring). Encyclopedia content describes a subject: pointing you to the three sources to go get it in the first sentence just looks like pure promotion. At the moment I see it as little more than an advert that Nomad is just one eSIM option. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:24, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi you rejected the page Alvaro Lario because the page does not show significant coverage. I have updated the article with additional reliable and independent references. Could you take another look? Thanks. Ruraldevelopmentfuture (talk) 12:07, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi Ruraldevelopmentfuture, sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. You have updated but not yet re-submitted. Please re-submit and someone will review. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:39, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

Request on 19:05:12, 28 October 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by 75.83.37.97

Hello! I'm trying to publish an article of the artist Marcel Santos. I understand that there is a requirement for significant coverage. I can't find anywhere on wikipedia guidelines what the numerical cutoff for this requirement is. The artist has 2 interviews from web publications where he is the primary subject. Is that not enough? If it isn't, what is the minimum number of references that a biography needs?

Also, the website Shout out LA is a publication but it was previously denied as an unreliable source. What makes Shout out LA unreliable but Voyage LA as reliable?

Thank you.

75.83.37.97 (talk) 19:05, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hello, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). There is no "numerical cutoff for this requirement" but normally we look for 3+ independent reliable sources with depth. Interviews are not independent so do not count to show notability. I see nothing that said "Shout out LA unreliable but Voyage LA as reliable" - the editor just said "Adding alternative source". Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:48, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

Hi! I appreciate getting the drafts reviewed and leaving comments about the errors. Thanks! Russell7890 (talk) 20:00, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Russell7890, writing new articles from scratch is one of the hardest things to do. Often people start writing then look for sources, which can end with disappointment. You should start with making sure you have a few independent reliable sources that show notability then write the article. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:19, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! I appreciate the advice. It will be helpful, especially for beginners to fully understand and follow the instructions of experienced writers and editors here, so they avoid being in trouble or in this kind of case. I take the message template seriously and it helps me a lot. It’s been useful. Additionally, following along with old writers and editors here has been a great tool to guide as well. • Narendra13078, firstly Draft:Winter Fashion is not an encyclopedic article so is not suitable at all. It is a blog post and opinion piece. Secondly see your own website terms "You must not: ... Republish material from Fashion XYZ...Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from Fashion XYZ..." KylieTastic (talk) 13:10, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello thank you for reviewing my article. I have made the corrections as you earlier indicated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heatrave (talkcontribs) 18:15, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi Heatrave, if you have finished updating please re-submit. Your in luck as there is a backlog clearing drive on at the moment so a quick review is more likely. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:31, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Article Declined

Why are you declined articles. It was simple and Reference was Available and I'm was improving it.Please accept it Nnn edits (talk) 20:50, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Looking at your user page I have not declined your article. KylieTastic (talk) 20:51, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
What is about the user page. Nnn edits (talk) 20:52, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
If I had declined one of your articles the notice would be on User talk:Nnn edits. If you are saying you are the IP re-submitting articles with just one source then stop. Read the multiple notices and understand that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) KylieTastic (talk) 20:56, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

NFL players at WP:AFC

I noticed that you tend to decline a lot of submissions at WP:AFC on NFL players. However, most of them are notable. A simple Newspapers.com search will get many of these drafts published. I often don't have time to keep up with your speed! I hope I don't trouble you too much by asking you to leave the reviews up to me. Scorpions1325 (talk) 02:52, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Scorpions1325, that is the basic premiss of the Draft+AfC process: pick a notable topic, find the sources, write the bare minimum to show nobility and submit. However we have one or more submitters that just create very minimal articles without showing nobility. Although many NFL players are notable many are not which is why the old WP:GRIDIRON nobility was dropped. Even when that was the only requirement many minimal submissions had factual errors as they appear to be just quick copy-hack-submit-repeat. So all the details needed to be checked and still many didn't even show enough to pass the very low bar WP:GRIDIRON was (i.e. has played in 1 NFL game). For instance a recent decline was Draft:Jim Hendley but the nfl.com career page shows no NFL games and the pro-football-reference.com/ has no games logged. Anyone can take a list of probably notable subjects and spam out articles. But no, if editors submit with zero effort they will be declined so we can find and accept the work of submitters putting effort in and need their work accepted asap. However, for your purpose if your interested in NFL bios just use this search for current NFL submissions, or this search for declined ones or just use this search to find all drafts using "Infobox NFL biography". However, if you want to review AfC drafts you should request access to the tool at WP:AFC/P. That tool helps remove the AfC template like you left here, also it will assist with project tagging, cats, informing submitters etc. and other changes that help others/wiki-projects find newly accepted acticles. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:13, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
    • Came across this discussion after it was mentioned at WP:ANI#IP constantly resubmitting AfC submissionsFWIW, in my view the reason NGRIDIRON was dropped wasn't specifically because of its merits but as part of the crossfire from attacks on ridiculously lenient criteria such as NFOOTBALL – the criterion IMO actually worked pretty well as the vast majority of NFL players are notable – each of submissions do show evidence for the players playing in the NFL – note that NFL.com seems to be incomplete when it comes to those types of players, but you can always find those games listed on the players' pro-football-reference pages – the IP kind of has to rely on others to demonstrate the notability as the coverage is almost always exclusively available in the paywalled Newspapers.com – Per messages on my talk page, the IP seems to create them with the intention that I (or Scorpions) will eventually clean it up, as I have access to the sources but not the time to create the articles whereas the IP has the time to create them but doesn't have access to the sources. It would probably work if their submissions were placed in some sort of category "Reserved AFC submissions for Scorpions1325 and BeanieFan11" – do you know whether that'd be possible? BeanieFan11 (talk) 21:50, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
@BeanieFan11, if they had created an account they would have had Wikipedia Library access years ago, also for some I'm sure some sources exist on google. They still could at any point. If you can get them to talk to you great. If they agree to just add a category rather than submit to AfC then I'm sure we can get them unblocked. So that it does not break WP:DRAFTNOCAT it would have to be something like Category:Drafts about American Football or Category:Drafts about American Football Players. I do the same you do for these just for for other subjects, I have multiple searches to find submissions or drafts in progress I work on getting accepted. Note that Dogloverr16 has these mostly American Football submissions waiting which need less work just checking that would probably be easier for you and Scorpions1325 if your interested. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:02, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi there.

I want to know why the ADTEC shah alam article is denied?

it is quite similar to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_Latihan_Perindustrian_Kuala_Lumpur

Thank you Editing and contributing (talk) 09:49, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Editing and contributing, unfortunately there are a lot of existing articles that are not good and need to be improved or deleted. With 6.7 million articles, cleaning up old ones takes a lot of volunteer time. I have tagged that article for attention. As for Draft:Advanced Technology Centre Shah Alam all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Most of the content in unsourced and it has no independent sources to show notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:57, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
Alright. Thank you for the information and advice. Does Wikipedia accept sources in other languages? ILPKL and ADTEC Shah Alam are like the oxford and cambridge of advanced training centres in Malaysia, and they do have coverage from national television, local news and websites. Many people here are skill based which is why they go to training centres.
If it is acceptable, I'll try to reference them properly. If not, what can be done?
Thanks. Editing and contributing (talk) 10:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
@Editing and contributing, yes sources can be in any language. KylieTastic (talk) 10:05, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Can you explain your edit note?

On this - I am reading it as shorthand for "revert more" - but that doesn't compute to me, so I must be wrong. Just want to understand the note/reason for the rv. Thanks Picard's Facepalm (talk) 19:52, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey Picard's Facepalm, yes it was "revert more" - you have reverted one part of 2001:8f8:1361:1b9:a820:d5d:a378:5d7ds edit but the other part was an invalid image, so the article needed to be reverted back one more version. Plus I reverted the other edit from probably the same editor as an unsourced addition. Nice name btw - made me smile :) Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:55, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Okaaaaay..... so the interim solution is to revert a revert which restores the problem I reverted - instead of going back one more version or otherwise you editing further? Sorry that I did not see the other edit in question - I was simply going off of Special:RecentChanges, and it is not an article I regularly patrol or monitor. I would think that WP:SOFIXIT would be more constructive vs. reverting to a problematic edit? Nonetheless - I will take a deeper look and try to encompass both of those changes, and perhaps others - though that will take me 2/3rds of the way to a 3RR. Thanks for the explanation. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 20:02, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Picard's Facepalm sorry I just saw what happened rather than what I thought I had done! It's been a long week and I'm a little slow :/ I thought I had reverted the other edit the anon made but see I mucked up and just reverted your reversion - hence your obvious (now) confusion. Sorry about that. Make that a KylieTastic Facepalm. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:17, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
No worries - is all good. Thanks again for the explain. :) Picard's Facepalm (talk) 14:29, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Request on 18:57:36, 9 November 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by MRaichura

Hi there,

Thanks for taking time to review the submission. It was quite fast, I must say. As for rejection, this is my first submission and was expecting that to happen.

However, this is a local not-for-profit astronomy club that I thought would benefit from exposure via Wikipedia and to some extant the people of Rajkot may benefit from the information as well.

However, while the club has organised hundreds of events, very few newspaper cover it because the club does not believe in creating hypes and click-bait topics etc which is not newspaper wants and as such it does not have lots of references as such.

The club does have presenece on social media but I did not add links to it assuming that it would look like a marketing page and not like an information page about local astronomy club that locals may be interested in.

Your inputs are very much welcome if you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

MRaichura (talk) 18:57, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi MRaichura there has been a backlog clearing drive this month so rather than possibly waiting week or months the reviews are now minutes to hours. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Unfortunately many good non-profits do not get enough coverage while minor celebrities etc do. This is unfortunately the world we live in. As you say they are not on social media that is the place they should probably be promoted to hopefully get exposure. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:05, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Newspapers.com and FA drafts

More than a couple times I have been researching something FA created and find your clippings. In my head I say hello. It's kind of like bumping into a neighbor on the street lol. :) S0091 (talk) 18:00, 10 November 2023 (UTC)

This state legislator was serving in the early 40s but did she also serve in 1915??? Can you sort out her tenure for me? Thank!!! FloridaArmy (talk) 14:51, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

The 1955 Memorial in the legislature should detail her career if someone can access it. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:23, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

I see you are way ahead of me. Thanks. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:24, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

@FloridaArmy I cannot find anything to say she served in 1915 for certain. In the source you have all I can see is that she is listed as a housewife and was a vice-chairman which sounds possible but not certian without being able to see the context. I've just found basic death notices with no detail or even a mention of her political service. There are also a number name matches that are almost certainly not her which makes it harder. ancestry.com if having "service issues" but I did manage a couple of basic searches and also failed to find much: She could be "Louise Amanda Moore" logged in the "California, U.S., Death Index, 1940-1997" as born 23 Jul 1883 in Texas died 28 Sep 1954 Los Angeles. KylieTastic (talk) 15:40, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
It lets me see the pages including her being Vice Chairman of a committee and her listing among members of the House of Representatives with her home and Phoenix address (in her case apparently the same because she lived in Phoneix?) FloridaArmy (talk) 15:43, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
I looked in the 1940s hoping that when elected it would mention previous service... but again nothing. It hard to understand that a rep can die with no obituary that mentions what she did. She would have been early 30s in 1915 so possible. KylieTastic (talk) 15:50, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
  • I figured it out. It's just 1941. Thanks again. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:52, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
@FloridaArmy don't leave me hanging! So what is that in the 1915 book? Of and I found a not very helpful picture KylieTastic (talk) 15:54, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Google Books says 1915, but it's a bunch of those state books all jammed together including the 1941 edition in which she is listed. The cite should be fixed. FloridaArmy (talk) 16:04, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
@FloridaArmy Ah yes, that's a misleading google books listing, but yes I just searched for 1941 in it. At least I found a few more bits in the search :) KylieTastic (talk) 16:12, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

rejected article

hi there, my article got rejected because it seems like an advertisemnt

very understandable, how should i change it Turtlepro22 (talk) 22:43, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Turtlepro22 firstly all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Articles should also be written from a Neutral point of view so term like "famous", "unique perspective", "best-selling" are not good even if backed by independent sources. Links to books and YouTube videos is also not encyclopedic. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 22:48, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Removing Record of Previous Declines

I saw that an editor had removed the record of previous declines and you restored it. When this happens, I give the submitter either a Level 1 or a Level 2 caution for removal of maintenance templates. I gave this editor a Level 1. You might want to do the same in the future. As you noted, it says not to remove them. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:29, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

@Robert McClenon usually I find reverting/replacing is enough, but yes if they do it more than once escalating warnings is the way to go. KylieTastic (talk) 21:33, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
My own thinking is that either they don't know better, or they do know better. If they don't know better. Level 1 will tell them. If they do know better, Level 2 is in order. I don't think that I have used Level 3, because then we are getting close to going to WP:ANI. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:32, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing the date on my AFC

Thank you for fixing the date on the AfC. I just copied the template from a previous submission of mine. Didn't notice the old date was in it. Thanks. RedPatch (talk) 19:36, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

@RedPatch No worries. KylieTastic (talk) 19:37, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Kim Yu Kyong IS notable enough for an article

I really do not understand why my article was declined for a second time. I would argue that a merited artist, lead singer of the most popular band in North Korea is more than enough notability for a Wikipedia article. Please look at Sonu Hyang-hui, she is the leader of the string section of the band. She does have an article. I do not understand why Kim Yu Kyong is not notable enough if she is. ItsFetuu (talk) 02:53, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi ItsFetuu as you can see Sonu Hyang-hui is tagged as needing more verification and maybe not being notable. Unfortunately a lot of junk articles still exist in the existing 6.7+ million articles that people are slowing improving or deleting. The 'Articles for creation' process it to stop more bing added. Being a lead singer in a notable band does not make someone notable. members of bands are only notable independently if sources show they are independently notable. Most of your sources are state media, YouTube videos and wordpress blogs. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) and in the case of musicians see WP:SINGER. reposting declined entry on Daniel Waldenström

Hi, KyleTastic-- I got a message from you a month ago that a new entry I wrote on the economist Daniel Waldenström was declined. I think it was because of the lack of references. I added references consistent with the Swedish Wiki page for Daniel Waldenström. I'm not sure, though, if that new version is now being considered. Are you able to tell me? I'm not sure if you can see it but it's here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chippedoff/sandbox.

Thanks!--Ian Chippedoff (talk) 15:15, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Chippedoff, it would be better if you had made the changes to the original draft Draft:Daniel Waldenström you could have then easily re-submitted. I have updated Draft:Daniel Waldenström with your changes so when your ready for a review just use the re-submit button on Draft:Daniel Waldenström. Note that each language Wikipedia is separate so the guidelines on what is required to show notability on one is not necessarily that same here. I have not looked at the sources as I'm at work but just wanted to answer you quickly. your in luck that we have just clearly the backlog of 4000+ article and up to 4 month waits, so reviews are likely in hours or days. entry on Christopher Hönninger

Hi KyleTastic - Our entry for the aforementioned person was declined. We hadn't yet added his IMDb profile that, perhaps, changes your thoughts on the person's notability. As part of the Visual Effects Society (VES) we wanted to have an entry on him as he has been significant in multiple feature-films and episodic work of the past 5 years. Recent Disney and Netflix productions relied on his work to finalize the post-production visual effects process and also due to his notoriety in the Berlin art scene we believe this entry would be relevant. Though quite aside to his film career, we are trying to find some sort of archived source of his Photoshop plug-ins that did propel certain marketplaces like the Envato network. This can be ignored, however. Please advise and hopefully there is something we can do to have him accepted here (this would benefit the Visual Effects society immensely, which after the recent writer's strike is trying to unify and push for their notable persons). Thank you most kindly! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.237.61.121 (talkcontribs)

  • Hi 190.237.61.121 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). IMDB is not a reliable source as it is user generated content and neither of your sources appear to have anything to do with the subject so effectively completely unsourced. What does Wikipedia's team not like about my approach? HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:10, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
@HisDivineHighness there is no "Wikipedia's team" just a project run by volunteers based on the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). KylieTastic (talk) 15:13, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Got you HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:14, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Sourced from your team's reflected assistance:
  • The book-length history of IBM by Robert Sobel is plainly non-trivial coverage of IBM.
  • Martin Walker's statement, in a newspaper article about Bill Clinton, that "In high school, he was part of a jazz band called Three Blind Mice" is plainly a trivial mention of that band.
Feature articles in newspapers are trivial coverage?
Shall we take this to all media outlets globally? That would be a nice way to become worthy of Wikipedia's "nonexistent" team. HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:16, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Assuming this is about Draft:Scott Carl Beltz I have not reviewed the content just done some basic edits. I have no idea what point you are trying to make but if your saying there are problems on existing articles then yes there are. Many created before the current policies still need to be improved, edited or deleted. "Feature articles in newspapers are trivial coverage?" nope and I doubt any reviewer is saying so. I currently can't access many of the sources being in the EU rather than the US. However if these are actually just the Express-Times doing a local report of high-school football, then that is just Run-of-the-mill local reporting not of any note. I can see your first two sources, both YouTube videos of what the subject says about themselves so not independent or reliable. I would suggest removing all content that you cannot provide an independent reliable source for and going from there, also remove any trivia such as owning trademarks. If "Feature articles in newspapers" exist then use those as your primary sources. KylieTastic (talk) 15:34, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
"Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance," apparently, said by Plato. Both our opinions appear to be weighed heavily by influences due to disparities in culture.
Since I am a formal amateur athlete, with successive years of delineated reporting where I am featured in articles across the region and nationally, as a verified amateur athlete, then yes, I would be then describing non trivial "run of the mill" local reporting from the perspective of someone who doesn't value amateur athletes, however, since the value of my amateur athletics crosses from secondary education into collegiate, and therein is described as being "honored" by multiple, secondary bodies, then I would, in fact, be worth notability, albeit in the context of cultural significance.
I really appreciate your well thought out response, and the length is refreshing from an active user who is helping many others attempt to curate authentic reflections of relevant matreial.
Ty HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:44, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
In a YouTube podcast interview on November 10, 2023, Musk criticized Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip during the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, saying that Hamas "wanted to commit the worst atrocities that they could in order to provoke the most aggressive response possible from Israel."
Here is an example, above, of a YouTube podcast being used by an entrepreneur to promote an opinion with doubly promoted opinion of said opinion on Wikipedia's article of said entrepreneur..
.. if I have 5 podcasts, and organized quarterly minutes for a state run institution that acts as its own media outlet, where 5 secondary persons, independent from my person, recognize me as an entrepreneur, then are their reflections of my entrepreneurship not valid?
And trademarks are important! If a page said "Nurture Culture" on wikipedia by another person, operating as an entrepreneur in the human resource industry, that would be fraud and not aligned with Wikipedia's 5 Pillars.
Ty HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:48, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Musk is already a 'notable' person - using a podcast to reference someone notable saying something of note is fine. What is not fine is to use as a source for fact claims as you have. So you cannot say "Scott is a poetic seer" sourced by your own content but could say "Scott claims to be a poetic seer". However until notability is shown it makes no difference. Notability for people is based on the criteria set out in WP:NBASIC part of Wikipedia:Notability (people). And yes legally "trademarks are important" but in scope of an encyclopedic article anyone just owning them is almost always just trivia. KylieTastic (talk) 16:03, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
I understand your reflection and even had multiple "claims" featured but it was denied the first couple times so I removed those. HisDivineHighness (talk) 16:06, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Although I have little personal interest in amateur athletes I would not say it is not of value, just that it is of local value and not in scope of the Wikipedia as an international encyclopedia. Although I'm from the other side of the pond I do understand the importance the the local high-school football feeding into college then national/international. My point is that high-school level coverage is rarely notable for Wikipedia. KylieTastic (talk) 15:52, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
I comprehend this posit, and the point I am fervently making is that there are not only high-school football sources/coverage yet also collegiate level football sources/coverage which tell the 'story' by, quite frankly, reporting (albeit, not hidden autobiographical creation) to reflect the notability of my person (as a legal entity) to be able to connect the trajectory of the subject's (me) path to further renown/notability in the realm of entrepreneurship, which I edited the title to "Professional Career".
TED Circles was organized not by me, but by an independent media outlet, Disrupt Magazine https://disruptmagazine.com/author/anthonydelgado/ where I joined several other influencers/entrepreneurs to discuss mental health on an international stage. The persons attending were from United States, US Puerto Rico, Egypt, India, etc.
CEO Chat was a regional and online television program that accepted me as an entrepreneur; with said CEO Chat hosts promoting me on the show. I did not take the content from the show to promote my self nor the company on facts, and my edit string shows a substantial amount of information I have since taken out.
There are other references, but if I am "supposed" to do this more efficiently else where, then I will upon securing this data reflection. HisDivineHighness (talk) 16:04, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Additionally, we must then address the terminology of what a project is, and what volunteers are, within said project, sustained by an entity known as a nonprofit that operates in asking its users for handouts to support its apparent collection of individuals who: never communicate, never coordinate efforts, and never allocate directives. HisDivineHighness (talk) 15:18, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
I appreciate all the effort of what Wikipedia has done. If there is no team on Wikipedia, then there is no Wikipedia, and it is actually then an Anarchy which Wikipedia says it is not.

Rejected Artcile

Hey! This is my second shot on writing an article on something totally random. I sent it for reviewing and its rejected. I’m totally fine with that, I’m still a newbie. I reviewed the criteria for Wikipedia Article stuff a few times, but I’m confused/not so sure what to change. Could you provide some more feedback on the draft and what I might want to change? Thanks a lot and have a great day 👍 Turtlepro22 (talk) 20:35, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

Re: Receiving notices when I have never done an edit

Hi

I have received a notice saying that my edit on some beer page was not correct. I have never made an edit or even heard of that beer to this day.

Just thought I'd let you guys know

Peace 223.123.23.127 (talk) 22:26, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

So you're saying that you never made an edit on the page when your contributions show that you edited the page? I don't think so. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 23:01, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
223.123.23.127 it could be that your IP address has been re-cycled from your ISP so it was someone else KylieTastic (talk) 00:00, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

Acidemia page

The Acidemia page is a redirect page which is fine. Does not need to be a separate page as you pointed out. I added a section to the Acidosis page and also change the Acidemia redirect page to redirect to the subsection on Acidemia.

I don't know if this is the right way to do things but I think is an excellent solution. Reknihtdivad (talk) 00:28, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Emmdas07, if your talking about changing the redirect of Acidemia to be more direct to the section then yes you did it correct. This is the way smaller sub-topics are normally handled and if in the future there was more to say about Acidemia meaning a separate page made more sense then it can be split out then. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:38, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Captain Mohamed Nazim

Hi,

Regarding this page, and mention of notability. This person

A. Head of one of 7 major government companies in Maldives.

B. Appointed by President.

C. And the vice president of Association of Maldives Maritime Industry (elected).

D. He is on all major news source in Maldives.

And Since I live there all prominent news have him covered in English plus local language too, and apart from that if asked to any Maldivian, he is known since its Maldives State Shipping he is running.

So how do you decide he is not fit and under what rule, how did u interpret it? Please detail this.

Thanks Existence Leesaaisath 09:45, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Leesaaisath all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). If your point D is correct then you should be able to find such sources. Note that sources do not have to be in English, but it is preferred when available. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:53, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
It is added and if anyone gives a small look into google search they will see. I do this because I love this. So please check thoroughly before reviewing them. I have no problem removing my articles if they are not to the rules, but I carefully check before I start a page.
Few years ago, I had one page regarding Dr. Mohamed Wisham, removed from here. Even the editor who nominated it decided to draftify it, but still removed, that was since many didint believe in local papers. I stopped my work here based on that rude behavior from some users.
He was an elected member of Maldives Medical Association, one of the few doctors who was the face of many local news outlets and advisor to the government. But still people have removed it with no proper explanation, just saying I am paid to write and doesn't meet notability. If you see my history, its not that. will never be. Existence Leesaaisath 10:00, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
Leesaaisath, sorry but it is not the responsibility of reviewers or article readers to go google it. Reviews are done with the sources presented not what may exist. Also if the reason someone has draftify is not clear should should just ask them. Unfortunately, yes some people come of as rude but in my experience here not most. Re: Draft:Daniel Waldenström Thanks for the help!

Hi, KylieTastic-- You gave me some advice about resubmitting the article on Daniel Waldenstrom. I hope I have re-submitted correctly. First article I;ve done and your help is much appreciated. --Ian Chippedoff (talk) 11:46, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Hi Chippedoff, yes you have re-submitted it correctly, so it's waiting for a reviewer to pick it up. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:51, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Jon Sawyer moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Jon Sawyer. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Let'srun (talk) 02:26, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

@Let'srun you got a bit confused with that one. I did not create or accept at AfC that article. KylieTastic (talk) 09:20, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

My article was declined and I'm not sure why

I've already posted something to the Article help desk with article rejection from being progressed past a draft. You declined it the first time and gave me topics to edit, that of which I did. Then after fixing the issues you provided me with, I resubmitted it only to then learn my article was "not sufficiently notable for inclusion." At the bare minimum I wish you would have informed me that my article did not meet these requirements beforehand, however that isn't the issue, as many other articles like my own (micronations) have their own accepted pages, which you may see on the page for the List of micronations. Dozens have been accepted but I'm not sure why mine wasn't. Please reconsider, or provide me with more reason/inquiry. Ste.moww (talk) 20:17, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Ste.moww, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Wikipedia is not for things you just make up. KylieTastic (talk) 20:42, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

How to get approved

Hi. Thank you for being one of the more professional people on this platform. Ii just wanted to know how to get the article i wrote finally approved. The article is on an individual who is on the rise and does not do many interviews. They are a professional producer, software developer and Filmmaker. I did resubmit with better references. Does the individual have to have huge TV coverage? Because that should not be needed or thr only thing that counts as significant coverage. The guy who just declined the resubmitted version is a biased loser who thinks posting about his love for gays and how he denounces white sumprecy is professional. I mean, this is a public forum. He should be told to take off stuff like that from his page as he has no way of knowing who is a white Supreme st or not. We also don't need to know that he likes or doesn't like gays. Stuff like that. He should keep to himself instead of posting it on his talk page and then reviewing our articles with all his biases. We don't need to know that he is straight or black. Some people on here are very questionable and probably should not be editing articles. Smike777 (talk) 13:30, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Calling people names is not allowed and not professional to use your term - see Wikipedia:Civility. I see you have already got yourself blocked so wont bother covering the initial question and what was wrong with the sources. KylieTastic (talk) 13:59, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Do have Eric Foner's Freedom's Lawmakers book? I thought I saw you mention at somewhere. If so, do you mind checking the entry to see which name Foner used for Williams? It could be Latty or perhaps some other variation. S0091 (talk) 17:57, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Hey S0091, yes I have a copy... the listing is for Williams, Latty J. (1844-1874) and about 5 sentences. KylieTastic (talk) 18:51, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
Ok, so certainly not Larry as the article was previously named and now I can add his birth year too. Thanks for the help! S0091 (talk) 19:04, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

Draft Article: Battle of Treponti

Dear KylieTastic, thank you for reviewing the draft article on the Battle of Treponti.
I have corrected one of its references, which was linked to a website where it was cited ad verbum. I had inserted the URL in order to increase its verifiability. Every source used in the article are secondary, published, verifiable scholarly works and not self-published.
Could you please review it again and, if it is the case, indicate where it can be corrected once again? Thank you for your time and assistance in perfecting the reliability of the article! Best regards

CarlosFelix1 (talk) 19:15, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @CarlosFelix1, thanks for improving and re-submitting. Sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random or work on certain topics, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Also it's Christmas so I've been playing games rather that editing :) The backlog is not huge at the moment so hopefully it wont be that long before it's reviewed. My Drafts

Since you've been helping with my drafts can you at least please review them and accept them if they are worthy to be included within Wikipedia. Robert Mclennon wants a discussion on the talk page but I've already sent him a message and replied to his comments stating that these articles aren't child articles or varieties of one language. They are different languages with their own iso codes and reference codes by Ethnologue and Glottlog. I have also provided as much information as possible about these languages with the references cited that prove what I am writing. 2600:1700:2F01:CDC0:CDB:CEB6:91A7:23BB (talk) 15:38, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Rejected article

Dear KylieTastic, you rejected my article(battle of badakhshan (1893)), because of the unreliable source. I searched a lot but didnt find any other source mentioning this battle, the only source that i used is called the life of amir abdur rahman khan which is a Contemporary and reliable source, i just wanted to ask you if theres a way to help me.

Kind regards

King Leviathan Leviathan12 (talk) 23:06, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Leviathan12, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). There have been a huge number of battles in the world and not every one will be notable enough for an article. There is also nothing in the article to suggest it had any importance. I just did a quick search in the online library resources I have and came up with nothing. You could add a mention in the history section of Badakhshan maybe. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:00, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
and ive made another article about the battle of landi kotal 1672, i added lots of reliable, and contemporary sources, it got declined, now i added more, can u check that too. Leviathan12 (talk) 14:01, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Arkansas House

Would you be able to upload this composite photo to Commons? I am working my way through the other ones you uploaded. Very interesting. A governor. Tenures we hadn't documented and lots of history we are missing. Thanks for all your help!!! Happy Post-Winter Solstice etc. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:22, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Hey FloridaArmy, after I uploaded those others I saw some aggressive attacks on copyright that made me nervous of those. I can't remember the case I saw but it was state gov vs little person level. Turns out Arkansas is one of the most restrictive states for getting state records. I asked at the commons village pump at the time and although each individual image is almost certainly OK, the picture of the composite photo is in a grey area as it may not have been previously published over 95 years ago. So if you have any individuals from that I'll be happy to do those but I don't feel comfortable uploading more full images. I had meant at the time to go back and do more individuals but never found the time then forgot. Cheers and happy post-Winter Solstice to you too :) KylieTastic (talk) 10:41, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
Interesting. Thanks. Is there a Commons senior editor we can run uploading the Arkansas legislature composite photos by? FloridaArmy (talk) 10:52, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
@FloridaArmy at the time I had this c:Commons:Village_pump/Copyright/Archive/2021/02#PD_or_Not? discussion. However in the end it is the uploader who is finally legally responsible (although Wikimedia legal may help). I wish I could remember/find the case that caused me pause for concern. Although adding a couple more would likely not cause issues, the case I saw made me think they could start sending threatening letters if someone started to upload lots of them. KylieTastic (talk) 11:10, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

J. R. Hampton (John Robinson Hampton / Draft:John Robinson Hampton) served a couple times as President of the Arkansas Senate and as Acting Governor. He is #12 in the 1877 composite photo. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:11, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
