Precisazione

--Vituzzu (talk) 12:32, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Luigi.
Sei fortissimo XD --Vituzzu (talk) 19:00, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Presbite/Luigi28--151.21.253.187 (talk) 18:57, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you're concerned about an IP's edits as you appear to be at Elia Pirone, you need to issue the appropriate warnings to the IP, either by hand on their talk page or using a script such as Twinkle. Ciao

Spam

Hey, no it´s not true. He just asked me how to contact other members on here and i told him that it can be done on their specific talkpages, did not asked why. Just later i knew he had that forum and was just here for spaming, didn´t know that before. Via mail? I never heard that he does that and never ever suggested something like that, WP is not a place for spam. I reported him the last time as a sockpuppet and reverted some of his edits. Why are you asking? Kante4 (talk) 22:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, i read that and used google translator to understand it a bit. ;) But like i said i never said that and reported his spam and said on his talk page of one of his accounts that he needs to stop it because he was blocked several times and it is just annoying. Hope that it´s cleared up now. :) Kante4 (talk) 22:57, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry - Tags removed as not copyvios. They are both copied from pages in en.wikiversity.org, which is allowed. You are quite welcome to raise them at WP:SPI if you wish. I suspect http://www.knowledgerush.com used data from en.wikiversity.org. Please note, we do not blank pages with CSD#G12 tags - we cannot use the "Duplication Detector" report with a blanked page, pages are only blanked when you use the {{copyvio}} template, and it does it automatically for you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:24, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool newsletter

Sorry for the radio silence, guys :). I just wanted to let you know that we're planning on starting a new round of hand coding, which you can sign up for here. This will be the final round (honest!), and is basically because we found some really interesting results from the last round that blew our collective mind. It's important to check that they weren't a fluke, though, and so a bit more work is needed.

If you have any questions, drop a note on my talkpage - and if you know anyone who would be interested in participating, please tell them about it! We'll be holding an IRC training session in #wikimedia-office at 18:00 UTC on the 21st of March to run through the tool and answer any questions you may have. Thanks! :) Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 00:42, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool updates

Hey all. My regular(ish) update on what's been happening with the new Article Feedback Tool.

Hand-coding

As previously mentioned, we're doing a big round of hand-coding to finalise testing :). I've been completedly bowled over by the response: we have 20 editors participating, some old and some new, which is a new record for this activity. Many thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far!

Coding should actively start on Saturday, when I'll be distributing individualised usernames and passwords to everyone. If you haven't spoken to me but would be interested in participating, either drop me a note on my talkpage or email okeyes@wikimedia.org. If you have spoken to me, I'm very sorry for the delay :(. There were some toolserver database issues beyond our control (which I think the Signpost discussed) that messed with the tool.

New designs and office hours

Our awesome designers have been making some new logos for the feedback page :) Check out the oversighter view and the monitor view to get complete coverage; all opinions, comments and suggestions are welcome on the talkpage :).

We've also been working on the Abuse Filter plugin for the tool; this will basically be the same as the existing system, only applied to comments. Because of that, we're obviously going to need slightly different filters, because different things will need to be blocked :). We're holding a special office hours session tomorrow at 22:00 UTC to discuss it. If you're a regex nut, existing abuse filter writer, or simply interested in the feedback tool and have suggestions, please do come along :).

I'm pretty sure that's it; if I've missed anything or you have any additional queries, don't hesitate to contact me! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 14:47, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Addirittura...

Thanks! --151.42.249.190 (talk) 18:07, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool, Version 5

Hey all :)

Just a quick update on what we've been working on:

  • The centralised feedback page is now live! Feel free to use it and all other feedback pages; there's no prohibition on playing around, dealing with the comments or letting others know about it, although the full release comes much later. Let me know if you find any bugs; we know it's a bit odd in Monobook, but that should be fixed in our deployment this week.
  • On Thursday, 7th June we'll be holding an office hours session at 20:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office. We'll be discussing all the latest developments, as well as what's coming up next; hope to see you all there!
  • Those of you who hand-coded feedback; I believe I contacted you all about t-shirts. If I didn't, drop me a line and I'll get it sorted out :).

Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:52, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

--Kasper2006 (talk) 15:56, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AFT5 release coming up - help us design a banner!

Hey all :). First-off, thanks to everyone for all their help so far; we're coming up to a much wider deployment :). Starting at the end of this month, and scaling up until 3 July, AFT5 will begin appearing on 10 percent of articles. For this release we plan on sending out a CentralNotice that every editor will see - and for this, we need your help :). We've got plans, we know how long it's going to run for, where it's going to run...but not what it says. If you've got ideas for banners, give this page a read and submit your suggestion! Many thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 16:27, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ri-complimenti.

--151.42.120.96 (talk) 16:00, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've declined the WP:PROD proposal on Mario Magnotta because a user objected to the deletion by removing the PROD template. I noticed that you reverted that removal. While you may believe that the article should be deleted, any user is entitled to oppose a PROD and if this happens the PROD fails - the template should not be restored. You can read more about the process at WP:PROD.

If you still believe the subject of the article is not notable enough for Wikipedia, you can propose the article for deletion using the full WP:AfD process. Thanks. Whouk (talk) 21:54, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me?

Why are you removing info from my talk page? Even if this person is a long term spammer, it's still my choice to talk or not talk to this person. Besides that it's also my choice to have this information on my talk page or not. LindaSportGirl (talk) 17:45, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback newsletter

Hey all!

So, big news this week - on Tuesday, we ramped up to 5 percent of articles :). There's been a lot more feedback (pardon the pun) as I'm sure you've noticed, and to try and help we've scheduled a large number of office hours sessions, including one this evening at 22:00 UTC in the #wikimedia-office connect channel, and another at 01:00 UTC for the aussies amongst us :). I hope to see some of you there - if any of you can't make it but have any questions, I'm always happy to help.

Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 20:40, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AFT5 newsletter

Hey again all :). So, some big news, some small news, some good news, some bad news!

On the "big news" front; we've now deployed AFT5 on to 10 percent of articles, This is pretty awesome :). On the "bad news", however, it looks like we're having to stop at 10 percent until around September - there are scaling issues that make it dangerous to deploy wider. Happily, our awesome features engineering team is looking into them as we speak, and I'm optimistic that the issues will be resolved.

For both "small" and "good" news; we've got another office hours session. This one is tomorrow, at 22:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect - I appreciate it's a bit late for Europeans, but I wanted to juggle it so US east coasters could attend if they wanted :). Hope to see you all there!

--151.42.248.93 (talk) 00:29, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

szechenyi baths hungary spam

I am waiting for your answer for 5 days and no answer... Strange. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bpvisit (talkcontribs) 13:15, 14 September 2012 (UTC) Hi Vituzzu, I cna see you are an admin and I am not, I am new on wikipedia. But I think that what you were 'correcting' was too fast. Pleas have a closer look at the editing.[reply]

What is your reason to undo my edits? I honestly don't understand the reasons you did. OK, I am glad that you are helping Hungarian articles, so you love Hungary I guess.

The problem is my question is this: why did you put back the szechenyi link of the HotelStart Kft, and why did you put the other link on black list????

question 1

szechenyibath.com is NOT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF SZECHENYI BATHS!

So please, do not restore it, ever. Szechenyibath.com is just a website, they want to sell hotel room in Budapest.

szechenyibath.com is just one of the many website of a Hungarian hotel company and the sites sell hotel rooms. The official website of all bath in Budapest (not the Racz bath which in shared property) is this: http://budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu/ I linked this site!! in English this http://www.budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu/en for Szechenyi Bath http://www.budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu/en/szechenyi/history

Almost all baths are own by the state. Not by Hotel Start kft.

The official site had an other official url, which they use in email, but the website was dead for maybe a year: spabudapest.hu

For few days spabudapest.hu was redirected to the other official url I wrote (!!! and also said in a comment, which you ignored): budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu

you can see the contact address (only on the Hungarian version): http://budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu/hu/szechenyi/elerhetoseg here you can see spabudapest.hu after the word kukac (the email signal in Hungarian)

szechenyibath.com is not official. Look: another website owned by hotelstart kft is gellertbath.com. Is it the official site? NO. Does it sell hotel rooms. YES. They also own budapest-parliament.com/ Wow. Another good website! What surprise. Is it the official Parliament site? NO. Does it sell hotel room. YES.

these sites are not the official sites. Neither szechenyibath.com nor gellertbath.com

You understand it now, please do not bring back a lame website which is not official. Just because is first place on search it is not the official website. And not even good. So I cannot digest any advantages to include the not official website, it is a fake official website.

question 2:

Is szechenyispabaths.com the official site? I am not sure. It looks good, good info. But on blacklist? Why? Because you like better the hotelstart kft web page? If you think that szechenyispabaths.com is not OK, and doesn't helps people, don't use it. I used it and I suggest it to friends because I believe that it is cool and the best info on web you get about Szechenyi my favorite bath. You dislike it and put it on the blacklist??? Why put it on the blacklist? Did you look into the hole situation or you started to just quickly do something because you are an administrator???

Put back at least the REAL official site on wikipedia.

Have a good day. If you have a question just ask. I am a Hungarian live in Hungary and can help you help better for Hungarian articles and clear away the spam. If I change anything in the Italian section, I would ask the local guys first and then edit things.

This is not a newsletter

This is just a tribute.

Anyway. You're getting this note because you've participated in discussion and/or asked for updates to either the Article Feedback Tool or Page Curation. This isn't about either of those things, I'm afraid ;p. We've recently started working on yet another project: Echo, a notifications system to augment the watchlist. There's not much information at the moment, because we're still working out the scope and the concepts, but if you're interested in further updates you can sign up here.

In addition, we'll be holding an office hours session at 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, 14 November in #wikimedia-office - hope to see you all there :). I appreciate it's an annoying time for non-Europeans: if you're interested in chatting about the project but can't make it, give me a shout and I can set up another session if there's enough interest in one particular timezone or a skype call if there isn't. AFT5 newsletter

Hey all :). A couple of quick updates (one small, one large)

First, we're continuing to work on some ways to increase the quality of feedback and make it easier to eliminate and deal with non-useful feedback: hopefully I'll have more news for you on this soon :).

Second, we're looking at ways to increase the actual number of users patrolling and take off some of the workload from you lot. Part of this is increasing the prominence of the feedback page, which we're going to try to do with a link at the top of each article to the relevant page. This should be deployed on Tuesday (touch wood!) and we'll be closely monitoring what happens. Let me know if you have any questions or issues :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 14:28, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blockbean

Before this notice,i have only beeen doing my job asa wikipedia editor. Why would i get blocked in my global account? Isn't the reason to put your information in wikipedia to provide useful information? my edits in the article separation of powers seem very resourceful and would like to know what is the reason. I have a PhD and that shows you that my intention is not to vandalize the page. Now i know there is a dissatisfaction and apparently you are one and thank you again for not blocking me but can't we all come into an agreement? If we can discuss this, then i am sure there can be peace and have a discussion with the people in aragonese, italian and spanish wikipedia. By the way, I am a multilingualist, so i know these languages for your concern. please reply.--(Slurpy121 (talk) 01:07, 2 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Really now, How are my statements meaningless, I even added more detailed information in the italian wikipedia, I added information (the purpose for this website) and I get punished for it. I told you i'm not here to vandalize, if you would clarify a bit more on detail, then I will consider your purpose, in fact, only the aragonese and spanish wikipedias blocked me, but it was from the mistake for not discussing it before i edit like the others articles, which is a mistake that i told you wont happen again, cheers.--(Slurpy121 (talk) 17:06, 2 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]
I happen to speak and write Italian, i'm multilingual and thank you for pointing out my mistakes. I will point out to the problem immediatly, as you will.--(Slurpy121 (talk) 00:21, 4 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]
I wonder and correct me if I'm wrong, but my statements are more longer than the original and you said [(Quote)"your short Italian text"] that my statements are short, then you might want to go over the two texts and see which text is longer and you will see that my text has by far more information, more details and more accuracy. And you know that i am putting the truth in here, and you revert me as i was someone who vandalizes, but i understand why you are concerned and i approve of you intentions, but just read my statement and you will see that it is more beneficial for the article, which is all i am trying to do. Anyways, i thank you for your concerning on how good my Italian grammar is and I appreciate you letting me know so i could fix the mistake, Thanks.--(Slurpy121 (talk) 00:46, 4 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]
----->
I understand your concern and yes I will let you know that my time has come to leave wikipedia, but what I don't quite understand is when you say that my sentences are meaningless if they are in perfect italian, and when you say that my statements have no sources at all, how come the original text doesn't have any sources either? I don't know if you are a historian, but i can tell you with great confidence that the original text has some grammar mistakes too and is not historically accurate. And if there is something you don't understand, tell me so i can know where to fix it and like i said, i know how to read and write italian as i did and showed in the text, so i don't see where the problem really lies and if there is a particular reason on what there is wrong with thenthings said in the text, then feel free to express what it is. and Oh, i see you blocked me without even reading my argument. Well i guess i can't stop you. But keep this in mind, you are not doing a very good job, your job is to see if the content in the text is historically accurate and apparently you only chose to block me because i just made a simple change on the article which is an abuse in your position and exaggerate my mistakes. Cheers. --(Slurpy121 (talk) 01:25, 4 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]
I do agree with you (to an extent), but some of the corrections, i do not agree, because the original text does contain some of the mistakes i have made and you went a bit more picky in my article ""(for example:, I did not say that the kings of Rome were overthrown in 509 ac, I'm saying that that is the traditional date according to Latin texts which say they were overthrown in the year 509. you say that that fact is incorrect, but That is what history says or at least what we know of the Romans. You say that that fact is incorrect, do you have any proof stating that the text is incorrect? If you say it with no background ((like the original text)), then you need to learn more about history, but if you have proof stating me wrong, then I would love to hear it)"", I do not understand why you were a bit picky by the looks of it, But what i can say (for now) is I am sorry, I am not a proud man like you say i am and i should have consulted you before editing and sorry for making you go through all that trouble, and i will be talking to you later, eventually. but cheers for now.--(Slurpy121 (talk) 04:42, 4 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I just have one question, If my editing had terrible grammar and bothered to make an effort to fix my comments and edits here, why didn't you bother to correct my edits in the article itself which would had been more simpler than the corrections you did in our discussion?--(Slurpy121 (talk) 04:34, 5 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

OpenVPN Private Tunnel is a legitimate paid private VPN service. What's the policy/procedure for me, a rather long-term editor, to be able to edit securely out through a hostile firewall? Thanks. I've come to your talk page courtesy the stacked messages:

"You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. Editing from your IP address (50.117.78.137) has been blocked (disabled) on all Wikimedia wikis until 19:24, 11 September 2017 by Vituzzu" and
"You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are now not able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 50.117.0.0/17 has been blocked (disabled) by DeltaQuad"

I got these messages while logged in normally to enWP, via OpenVPN. Seems like, if I'm logged in, it's me, and I should have my normal editing privileges, without restriction, no matter where I connect from. So, what's the next step? --Lexein (talk) 01:42, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Legal threats?

Just saw your note at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aldo Grippaldi. Are the threats from User:Unotretre or a sock-puppet? Others got the same. Thought you should know that the case was at WP:ANI on en.wiki last night. User:Dennis Brown was particularly good (an en.wiki admin). You might like to shoot him a note or raise it again at ANI - it has been there three times now, I don't think they would be surprised. Stalwart111 13:19, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I was actually inclined to remove it from the article - the company is clearly not notable so including it serves no encyclopaedic purpose. I will comment at your ANI thread. Stalwart111 14:07, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vituzzu! long time no see. I want to let you know, that our pending situation on the article on the Italian wikipedia, Separazione dei poteri, is still not over. April 2013

Your recent editing history at Adam Kadmon (character) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. I will ask for damages

I am astonished to see that I am accused of being a sockpuppet. I am even outraged because I feel humiliated with this accusation. An accusation of being "user Brunodam" without proof, even if I offered to submit my personal data. I demand justice. I am going to complain to the "Better Business Bureau of Florida" and to the Police department of Fort Lauderdale, following instructions from my attorney about this clear case of harassment & offense. I will ask for damages. Junior5 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.46.252.98 (talk) 18:53, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Antagonism

Vituzzu, I would like to address this antagonism that's being displayed, and open the door to the possibility of constructive collaboration. It strikes me that your views regarding my behavior are likely founded on what Sig. D'Ambrosio has to say. Please understand that "excessive nationalism" is hard to perceive objectively. What may seem to you as "nationalist POV-pushing" - may seem to me to be the restoration of neutrality in the face of excessive nationalism of another kind.

I have read much of what Bruno has to say regarding myself and others who opposed against his edits. And while your view on the matter, perhaps influenced by Brunodam's slanderous fabrications, may be different, I myself do not believe it is accurate to describe me as a "Croatian nationalist". In fact, I am more than half Italian by ancestry. My attitude years ago was different, I agree, but I feel it was primarily a reaction against the shocking and brutal slant introduced by the likes of Giovanni Giove and Brunodam. I was also a significantly younger man.

I am now, I dare say, a reasonably "respectable" Wikipedian with well over 45,000 edits, who's primary objective is to expand and improve the project, following sources in the most unbiased and scientific way possible (indeed, I hope to earn a PhD reasonably soon :)).

Case in point, my edit on FTT. I came there to edit the article to fix its erroneous coa and wrong infobox. I switched the language order as a side-edit, and was annoyed to see it reverted apparently for no real reason. I was wrong there and it was rash of me to revert you. I didn't regard you as a serious editor - I most sincerely apologize. Please note I stopped reverting relatively early on and brought the matter to talk. Whether you believe me or not, the reasons why I switched the languages were as follows:

  • Historical: Zone B was administered by Yugoslavia in general, not just its Slovene republic. The majority language in Yugoslavia was Serbo-Croatian (which is another name for Croatian). It was also the exclusive language used in all federal government administration, as well as the military. I thought it logical to have the main Yugoslav language listed up front in a territory administered by Yugoslavia as a whole.
  • Contemporary: Only a relatively small chunk of the FTT is part of Slovenia in modern times. Whereas its largest part is today in Croatia.
  • Finally, I thought that in either case it would be neutral to have an alphabetical order.

Please note these rationales are not mutually exclusive, and all three were more or less on my mind when I off-handedly edited the languages.

In conclusion, however, let me say in case you misinterpret this, that I am not the least bit threatened by your demening insults and repeated threats. Nor am I really that insulted, or I would have reported you on grounds of WP:NPA immediately. I merely understand that my reverts were inappropriate, and that I am at least partially guilty for thusly re-enforcing the slanderous preconceptions Brunodam and/or his cronies may have instilled. I feel bad about that, and would like to see if I can redress the damage. Best regards, -- Director (talk) 13:31, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you will realize I am certainly not like the maniac Brunodam, or at least, not as bad :). That was the comment that most struck me as inappropriate. I knew the guy, and for one thing - sources have an actual impact on my position (plus I keep my sockpuppets to a reasonable 200 or so :)-- Director (talk) 14:43, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Voce "Free Territory of Trieste"

Buongiorno. Compartment syndrome editing issues

Hi Vituzzu, I've been trying to edit the Compartment syndrome page and each time I do it says that I cannot because you made some kind of block regarding cross-wiki abuse? I have no idea what cross-wiki abuse is, so, if you could explain what is going on and why I am unable to edit this page, I would really appreciate it. As far as I know, I haven't been breaking rules on Wikipedia and no one has said anything to the contrary. Nomination of WikiFM for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article WikiFM is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WikiFM until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:51, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd originally speedied this, but there was a request to let it run through a formal AfD, which seems like a fair request. In any case, I thought I should let you know. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:51, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • BTW, next time please let the original editor know that the page is up for a speedy deletion. It's not required, but it is a nice gesture to do. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:55, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Voce "Free Territory of Trieste"

Come mai? Grazie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tergestinus (talkcontribs) 16:39, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

2nd opinion requested
 – Mareklug talk 07:53, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing all main space linking to Marek Lugowski or outright censoring article content that refers validly to this person. For example, you have removed a sentence describing this person's academic published research as described by a separate chapter in the book of which article you edited to this end. You claim that the edits you are undoing constitute self promo. Whatever evidence you may offer for that opinion, and it is only your opinion, the facts are that a) the content you remove is encyclopedic and not out of tune with the rest of the article content. When the user whom you are suppressing is being described by an entire book chapter, a reprint of a standalone Scientific American column that went into published circulation globally when it was published, and not just in English, as Scientific American is translated into twenty languages, including Chinese and Italian, and read by literally tens of millions of non-English speakers, your edit appears to be off. Furthermore, b) the person in question is notable, and his BLP is being prepared by an experienced Wikipedian. When it goes on line in March 2014, all the red links you are removing (as well as content!) will instantly become blue links/undisputedly encyclopedic. I request you stop your disruptive edits and allow the Wikipedia process to hash out this issue on its own. Just don't edit in this area anymore, as your edits have merely the net effect of censoring and impoverishing valid main space content, without bringing any tangible benefit to Wikipedia, and your censure of User:Mareklug across several WMF projects by now has all the appearances of stalking and unreasonable policing. As you find yourself on record branding in a discussion on meta on the user's talk page him a "spammer", you are in an adversarial relationship with him, not to omit, failing to assume good faith, especially as the user continues to produce good content (just did major housekeeping on Commons in commons:Category:Commesso (art technique), which he created, and just entered a new article on English Wikipedia, a BLP of a Hopi silversmith and jeweler, and uploaded to Commons a rare heretofore unavailable media of the artist's work. You are a steward, and an experienced Wikipedian as well as an administrator on other WMF project, therefore you should not have to have this explained. I hereby request a second opinion in this matter. Cordially, --Mareklug talk 07:53, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OER inquiry

Hi Vituzzu, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:50, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Portmahomack

Ok, now I found out that User:48Utilisateur is Brunodamm. I appreciate that you clean up after him in particular since I had run-in with that user myself recently and on that note I'd like to point out that User:Cresthaven might be another socket of the same guy. Originally I had an edit conflict/disagreement with Cresthaven at Diana Veteranorum and User:48Utilisateur got created exactly in that time and got immediately involved in the conflict.

With regard to Portmahomack however 48Utilisateur's edit there was already discussed (see article's talk page) and essentially corrected by User:Ben MacDui and your deletion removed Ben MacDui's correction. So unless you do not see any additional problem with the content and its source, the article should be reset ro Ben MacDui's version. The section on the Roman camp however could be deleted.--Kmhkmh (talk) 16:27, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kmhkmh, as you may know Brunodam has a very very strong Italian nationalistic (with a fascist flavour) POV and all of his edits are meant to pursue it. I also tend to do anything possible to frustrate all its actions. So, this revert won't weaken my effort but let's say I'm not completely sure about re-inserting those contents. Ciao! --Vituzzu (talk) 19:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I hope it is ok that i moved your comment here, simply to keep the conversation in one threat. With regard to Portmahomack I suggest to remove 48Utilisateur's original edit, rather than the part that was corrected User:Ben MacDui. In practice that means reverting your edit and remove the section on the Roman camp. If 48Utilisateur's intent was to push Italian nationalism via exaggerating the extend of the Roman empire, he'll be utterly frustated because the article won't contain any reference to the Romans anymore.
Personally I didn't come across Brunodam before 48Utilisateur and the latter accopunt is only 2 weeks old. My concrete issue 48Utilisateur was not related to the pushing of any nationalist views but rather with insufficient sourcing and falsely summarizing sources---Kmhkmh (talk) 20:04, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oldsettler

Hi Vituzzu. An apparent ip sock of Oldsettler/Brunodam has been going around posting personal attacks against you and I on select userspaces. He has accused me of being a terrorist and you of being in the mafia [2] [3]. Could you please have a look? Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 18:48, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It odd that they attempt to show us that they are "fond" of Somalis, but later post things such as this. AcidSnow (talk) 18:58, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I always assumed Brunodam perhaps had a familial tie of some sort with the Fascist period. He would occasionally brag that Mussolini united the Somali territories, thereby achieving the goal of a Greater Somalia. However, he didn't show nearly as much interest in the Italian administrations during the earlier aristocratic era and the later trusteeship period. It was more chauvinism and braggadocio than anything. This latest rant, though, is something else altogether and indeed quite lamentable. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 19:39, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure exactly wither or not it was a real policy but Italy did promote La Grande Somalia. It might have just been their desire to appease the Somalis to prevent a revolt. Hence why they unified Ogaden with Italian Somaliland. They did the same thing with missionaries at first. Anyways, he is aware of the dangers of such allegations can cause right? Best of luck Midday. AcidSnow (talk) 20:14, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Middayexpress: @AcidSnow:Honestly I'm not able (oh I try and I try!) to feel harassed nor even angry, I feel a weird mix of boredom and laugh. His paranoia seems to worsen with sort of "wiki-stress": the more his attempts at pushing propaganda are frustrated -> the more he becomes angry -> the more his attacks turn into paranoia. Btw I feel honored he spent 12kb about us instead of the old "Croats bribe you, I got evidences!" of about 3 or 4 years ago. Dealing with the topic you shouldn't forget Fascism was one of the saddest fronts ever. It also inherited previous fronts from late XIX century colonialism. Lots of Italian people uprightly relocated to colonies (as they did to Americas, Australia and Northern Europe) but colonies were, definitely, strategical and economical mistakes built upon violence. Finally, "all other European nations did the same" cannot justify us. --Vituzzu (talk) 20:56, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So true guys! lol You know what's even weirder Vituzzu and AcidSnow? I think it may not even be Oldsettler/Brunodam, but rather an associate of his that is mad over his block. The ip's address is geolocated in the United States, whereas Oldsettler/Brunodam resides in Italy. He also has not stopped spamming the personal attacks [4]. I'll contact an admin to take care of this. Cheers, Middayexpress (talk) 15:50, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Middayexpress:, @AcidSnow: though he mixes up lots of lies he lives "where those IPs geolocate" though he's sometimes back to Italy. --Vituzzu (talk) 17:58, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Berean Hunter: since his second reply I was pretty sure I was dealing with a known troll.

--Gianni Andrea (talk) 12:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Spidey vibes

Hey Vituzzu (also pinging @Berean Hunter:) I came across this thread at ANI. I don't know why, but this really reminds me of Brunodam for some reason. It doesn't entirely fit and I'll admit that I'm not as entirely familiar with his editing style as you guys are, but something about this is just sort of reminiscent. Maybe it's because it's Italy related and the copyvio issues? They're probably not related since it doesn't immediately fit some of the basic styles he uses, but I figured that it'd be worth mentioning just in case since Brunodam does tend to keep turning up like a bad penny. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:20, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I concur with Tokyogirl79 here whose spidey sense seems spot on. His IPs have tended to either be Florida or Milan. The IP in the current thread is Milan which can be compared by geolocation to one that Brunodam has used. The behavior is very similar, IDHT when it comes to copyright issues or supplying sourcing for verification. Coincidentally, a /24 range is set to expire in a few days which he had persistence at for several years. A three year block would be well-warranted here.

Global Lock from 2012

Hi, there is a report at ANI you may be able to help with. Omar-Toons has been globally locked since 2012 by yourself but an admin has just blocked his user Omar-toons (note the small 't') here for socking/block evasion. The report at Meta doesnt really give any information, so I thought you might be able to shed some light on it. The lock/block notes indicate you intended to lift it at some point, so was it ongoing disruption or just a temporary measure? ta:User:Fahimrazick in Tamil Wikipedia

I see you have blocked me for one year saying "intimidating behavior" while I have never threatened anyone in Wikipedia. How did you come to a conclusion like that while I was asking for a fair neutral view in articles related to the LTTE, which has been designated as a terrorist organization in many countries? Regarding articles about them, I was against using words like "embraced a heroic death". I think it is a kind of bias. Instead, I was asking them to use "killed in action". I think asking for neutrality is accepted in Wikipedia. The comment what I made finally was a quote from Tirukkural saying "Mother who gave (me/us) birth and the country of birth are much better than heavenly deeds". Is it something wrong to say that? Did I intimidate using these words? Please explain.--Fahim (talk) 03:42, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure whether you still keep a look out for Brunodam and friends, but if you do you might be interested to check the following user accounts below. Hi!

While I appreciate that you're cleaning up after Brunodamm and his sockets, there needs to be a bit more care with reverting content. While the policy (WP:EVASION) the allows for wholesale reverts of the edits of a blocked user, it does not allow the reverting of valid content over the objections of other users. Turkish user's VPN blocked

Hello, Vituzzu. I am trying to contact you on behalf of a user in Turkey whose IP range you have blocked. Because the Turkish government is currently not permitting Wikipedia access from that country, he has had to resort to posting articles and edits through a Virtual Private Network called Browsec. Evidently some ill-motivated people have also used this same VPN at some time in the past, which I suppose is the reason for the block. Is it possible that your block could be made more granular in order for him to continue accessing Wikipedia? I've looked at many of his edits, and he seems to be a sincere Wikipedian and not a spammer. His name is Uzanto:Vasilkadifeli, and he mainly posts to the Esperanto Wikipedia project. Vasil Kadifeli is a serious person, a translator between Turkish and Esperanto, but his knowledge of both Italian and English is poor. He received the following message, but unfortunately the technical explanation is beyond his understanding. Can you perhaps help him to regain access to at least the Esperanto version of Wikipedia?

"Your IP address is in a range which has been blocked on all wikis. The block was made by Vituzzu(meta.wikimedia.org). The reason given is leaky colo + open proxy at 46.101.78.152. Turkish user's VPN blocked (continued)

Hello, my name is Vasil Kadifeli, sorry to create the fuss. I live in Turkey where the wikipedia is for some time forbidden. My userid is "vasilkadifeli" and I assume it is global because so far I have done a few changes in the Esperanto, Turkish, Azerbaijani etc wikipedias. A few months ago I changed an article with "Browsec" VPN application, but yesterday I couldn't as the reason is mentioned above. I understand that the Browsec IPs are blocked. I used the personal VPN of my brother which is installed on the new google cloud servers and performed my change. I am not interested in Browsec which can be blocked at anytime by the Turkish censorship. I am thinking of using that personal VPN for wikipedia from Turkey. So do I still have to apply for such an exemption?

Vasilkadifeli (talk) 07:11, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to edit from a blocked IP you need an exception. If it is a global block (says global block and meta.wikimedia.org in block message) then ask for global IP block exemption. If it is a local block then ask for IP block exemption on wiki. Also if the IP is globally blocked and locally blocked you will need to get exceptions in both places (only local exception lets you bypass local block and global block exemption only lets you bypass global blocks) --Sau226 (talk) 09:33, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vituzzu. I've declined this speedy because the article does contain some claims of importance (particularly the premieres). AfD is probably the best route with this, and other long-standing articles edited by multiple editors -- even where it's possible one or more of the contributors has a significant conflict of interest. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 23:59, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding. There doesn't need to be a reliable source to evade A7, merely a claim that isn't patently absurd. However the fact that the article has been deleted on the Italian wiki tends to suggest the subject isn't very notable even taking into account Italian-language sources, so the AfD route shouldn't prove problematic. Socks turning up at AfD usually make their nature very obvious. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 21:56, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Serena Baglione

Hello Vituzzu. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Serena Baglione, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: coverage in potentially reliable sources and winning a medal indicate sufficient significance to pass A7. Use WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Thank you. SoWhy 10:57, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cademia Siciliana

You have put a second notice up for deletion of the above article. Firstly, I didn't write any of these articles (in en.wiki, scn.wiki or it.wiki), on scn.,wiki I added a template and made minor edits to the Sicilian and that's it, nor am I a member of the Cademia, or have any role with the Cademia - I have followed their efforts with interest over the last few months, nothing more (and I would think it's unsurprising that an admin on scn.wiki would be following this sort of work). Furthermore, you gave the reason for suggesting deletion because the reference were self-deemed (not sure if that is the correct terminology, but nevertheless...). I went through each of the references, and at least four of them were clearly independent of the Cademia, a fifth, related to the work the Cademia is doing with Firefox to have Sicilian included as one of their languages - which is important work in my view. Anyway, for the life of me, I can't see what the issue is with this article on the Cademia, and the reasoning for the notices just aren't backed up. I double checked the policy, and quite clearly, the references exist, they are independent of the Cademia, and the Cademia clearly exists, the credentials of the board cannot be questioned, and they have already produced some important outputs in support of the Sicilian language (organising the acceptance of Sicilian in Firefox and Facebook is nothing to be sneezed at). Anyway, it seems beyond the pale that you would threaten an admin with being blocked, while you put up deletion notices without any foundation. πιππίνυ δ - (dica) 12:50, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

CS Orthography Proposal

Firstly, I wanted to thank you for your comment on my draft. I wanted to write you to clarify that with my Sicilian orthography article I'm not trying to say that the CS proposal is the definitive one, as you can see I also added the CSFSL one, and i'm working on traditional orthographies, and a reference to Accademia di Krivu. The CS/Wiki orthographies are really close as well, and I'd like to make reference to that one. Ultimately I'm trying to build an article that explains the real landscape of the politics, ideologies and perspective regarding Sicilian orthographic conventions. The main sicilian language article is definitely too large for this already, and probably needs to be broken down more.

Here's my question, what do you think is a consensus based term? Is calling it a 'proposal' sufficient, or an 'unofficial' standard? I want to make it clear that the region has not provided support for an orthography. It's AN orthography, not "the" orthography, and I wouldn't want any such confusion. If such a block was made on 18th January, why was I able to edit the English Wikipedia for the past six weeks. Please can you explain. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:43, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also IP blocked

I also found myself blocked by you one day a few months ago on "all WMF projects" (sometime shortly before 22 February 2018), and unable to log in. I think I remember you or someone indicating that it is possible to get a local waiver to IP blocks, but the administrators so far don't know how to do it. I now understand why you blocked me. I never edit with malevolent intentions, nor have I ever spammed or vandalized, but with constantly changing IP's, what else can you do to prevent OTHERS from spamming/vandalizing. So, no hard feelings. I sometimes find it necessary to reach Wikipedia via TOR. Also, my access through my mobile device keeps changing IP addresses, each time I reboot my phone and open a browser, a different IP address is used. That is why I created an account. I did not make a screen shot of your message. Can you once again explain how I might ask for or apply for a waiver of IP-blocking? Thank you for your time and consideration. rags (talk) 17:42, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I appealed to the stewards as was mentioned on a link given and my access was restored within twelve hours. I got no reply from Vituzzu but I understand that my IP number was inadvertently included within a range block. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:39, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your speculation

Hi, I see that you have flagged {{COI}} on article Energica Ego. I will like to know what exactly made you think that one of the major contributor(was it me?) had/has a close connection with its subject. I will also like to know how it can be fixed. Since I have taken responsibility of creating and maintaining some articles, including this one, I will like to fix them immediately. Hello Vituzzu. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Elena Emanuele, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: winning a notable TV show indicates significance. Thank you. SoWhy 12:24, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for help

Hi,

when I tried to edit on https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diskussion:Frauenwahlrecht#Review_vor_%C3%9Cberarbeitung_/_Aktualisierung_im_Hinblick_auf_kommendes_Doppeljubil%C3%A4um

this morning, I couldn't and got this message:

As this sort of obstacle came up several times since I have got a new laptop some months ago, I'd like to ask you to do something to prevent this for future edits; of course it doesn't take that long until I can get back to editing, but losing a day or so is unnecessary because I haven't done anything bad.

Sorry for not being more familiar with this kind of thing and thanks in advance for your help! --Reisen8 (talk) 10:03, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked User - VideoWiki123

Hey,

It seems that you have "blocked" this user-account for some reason. Could you please unblock this account?

This account is connected to VideoWiki where we are building a tool that allows Wikimedians to collaboratively edit a Video file. VideoWiki is a proposed sister project. You can verify about VideoWiki at:

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Video

Kindly request you to unblock this user account because Wikipedia's OAuth connected to this account gets blocked and consequently VideoWiki stops working. --Videowiki123 (talk) 09:24, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From my talk page, here is the error:

@VideoWiki123 do you have this error when logging on via the WebUI or just the API? Which site are you logging on to when you get this error? (We can only help you here with issues logging on to en.wikipedia.org). — xaosflux Talk 11:52, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From your not above, this looks like an autoblock, possibly on metawiki. — xaosflux Talk 11:54, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We use OAuth for 2 reasons on VideoWiki (www.videowiki.org) The first to allow a user to log in via their Wikipedia account. This works properly. The second use of OAuth is to directly upload files to Wikimedia Commons. We are getting an error in the second use case i.e. when the user is trying upload content to Commons. The error message is "User is blocked" - Rogueassasin123 (talk) 23:54, 26 October 2018 (UTC) - Pratik from VideoWiki[reply]

Block at York University: URGENT

Greetings,

I'm a professor at York University in Toronto, Canada. It appears that you've placed a block on the York University IP address 138.197.0.0/16 "on all Wikimedia wikis until 10:20, 14 August 2021". York University is a campus of 50,000 students, many that want to participate in WikiEd programs and other activities. A number of my students that live on campus are unable to participate due to this block. Can it please be removed, at least temporarily? Best, --Jaobar (talk) 16:11, 11 February 2019 (UTC) cc: User:Ragesoss;User:Shalor (Wiki Ed)[reply]

  • Hi Jaobar - are they unable to sign up or are they unable to edit? Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:14, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi User:Shalor (Wiki Ed), apparently it's with signup. I've had this issue at other institutions. Can the block be lifted temporarily? --Jaobar (talk) 16:35, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Jaobar: I can't, but I can enable account requests on your Dashboard page. I'm also going to tag Elysia (Wiki Ed) on this since she's your Wikipedia Expert. Vituzzu, would you be willing to give Jaobar eventcoordinator rights? Jaobar, this would give you the ability to create accounts for the students in your class and shouldn't be impacted by the block. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:41, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Shalor (Wiki Ed): Vituzzu can't grant eventcoordinator rights since he's not an admin here, but if students still can't create accounts, Jaobar can ping me and I'll grant eventcoordinator. Galobtter (pingó mió) 16:46, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Jaobar I've disabled the block here on the English Wikipedia, since there doesn't seem to be much harm doing it temporarily at-least. Though per WHOIS the IPs are supposed to belong to Digital Ocean, not York University. Galobtter (pingó mió) 16:43, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Galobtter, Jaobar, Shalor_(Wiki_Ed) I just blocked this range as a part of my usual re-blocking of Digitalocean, and noticed the local exemption for this range just afterwards.
Let's look at some random segments of the /16...
      • 138.197.0.0/24 - signalmanpublishing.com, mail.breweryartmusic.com, 88978-69325.cloudwaysapps.com, faith4everyone.com and many others
      • 138.197.22.0/24 - mail.rocketees.com, beacon70.com, ftp.integration.shipper.co.nz, talk.makeict.org, and many others
      • 138.197.111.0/24 - canyonstone.com, standardproperty.com, pinku-online.com, uniquemargin.com, and many others
      • 138.197.219.0/24 - timemoney.com, cybernodes.com, platypus-sandbox.com, 242957.cloudwaysapps.com and many others.
This does not appear to be an edu range, and seems to be extremely consistent with DigitalOcean. A similar scan of random hosts in this range also strongly suggests that this is in fact a digitalocean range.
Is there any sort of reasonable explanation for these inconsistencies? SQLQuery me! 01:49, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
SQL, yeah it does appear to be a DigitalOcean range, and York Universities range seems Special:Contributions/130.63.0.0/16 so 🤷🏽‍♂️. I suppose the students could put "what is my ip" into google, so we have a more specific IP to check; @Jaobar I can grant eventcoordinator, but that will only work if you yourself are not prevented from creating accounts. Galobtter (pingó mió) 06:22, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks Galobtter! I didn't realize that he wasn't an admin on here! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:48, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi all, my sincerest thanks for your quick response. I'll follow up if there are any further issues. We're creating accounts over the next three weeks or so. Best, --Jaobar (talk) 17:11, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Galobtter, thank you for your notes. I'm not sure how to answer these questions. All I can say is that some of the students were blocked from creating accounts while on campus. I believe that other students, since 2016, were able to create accounts, so this does seem more complicated than originally thought. I will yield to your expertise here, but do want to make sure that all students can participate. --Jaobar (talk) 15:54, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits at Cape Bonavista

Hello Vituzzu -- Regarding this edit, are you accusing me or User:48coral of being a sockpuppet? You keep reverting 4 of my perfectly valid edits along with his edits and I do not understand why. Do you have a problem with my edits? I am definitely not a sockpuppet. Respectfully -- WikiPedant (talk) 19:32, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have fixed the reversion. Thank you. -- WikiPedant (talk) 19:34, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please think before mass reverting.

Could I ask you to slow down and look at the reverts you're carrying out before you make them? In several cases I've seen, you seem to be making the encylopedia worse by removing good edits. From Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Evasion and enforcement: "This does not mean that edits must be reverted just because they were made by a blocked editor...". Removing refs, etc. just because they were added by a banned user, does not help anything. Thanks. O Still Small Voice of Clam 21:10, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Scuse pubbliche

I need your help

Hello!

I faced a problem in Italian Wikipedia. One administrator has blocked me without any reasonable grounds. I tried to write on your discussion page in Italian Wikipedia, but my message was erased by another user. The text of that message is below:

"Voglio sporgere denuncia contro Mastrocom.

Please reply here because I have possibility to communicate in Italian Wikipedia no more. K8M8S8 (talk) 16:33, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
