Project Tiger Writing Contest

In 2017 – 2018, the Wikimedia Foundation and Google working in close coordination with the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Wikimedia India Chapter (WMIN) and user groups from India, are piloting a program encouraging Wikipedia communities to create locally relevant and high-quality content in Indian languages. This program will (a) support active and experienced Wikipedia editors through the donation of laptops and stipends for internet access and (b) sponsor a language-based contest that aims to address existing Wikipedia content gaps.

Phase (a) has been completed, during which active contributors were awarded laptops and internet stipends. Phase (b) will be a contest in which editors will come together and develop a writing contest focused on content gaps. Each month three individual prizes will be awarded to each community based on their contribution for the month. The prizes worth 3,000 INR, 2000 INR, and 1,000 INR, will be awarded to the top contributors for each month. The contest started at March 1, 2018, 0:00, and will end at May 31, 2018, 23:59 (IST). Copyright infringement

I can see that you are a new editor, but you need to know that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. You must not copy and paste text from sources you find on the web into articles as you did in the "Now" section of the article Kollam Orthodox Diocese. I have removed the infringing text, but the material you copied is subject to copyright, as is almost everything on the web, and when creating or expanding articles, you should completely rewrite the information in the source using your own words. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:53, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

@Cwmhiraeth:Hi greetings, I created the article in my own words. I didn't copy the text in website as such. I cited the web for reference.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:37, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
If you look at this version of the article, which you can do at the moment before the rev-del is done, you can see the section "Now" and if you look at the source cited for that section, you will see that the last paragraph in the source is identical to that section of the article. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:55, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
@Cwmhiraeth:Hi, Greetings. The subject of article which I create is very familiar to me. That institutions are familiar and so I added to section. That is also mentioned in that website. If it is same we can change the sentence. Please bring back the section and review article.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 16:09, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the undeserved barnstar. You can still see the passage that I removed if you click on the "View history" tab and then click on one of the previous versions, for example that of "12:58, 31 March 2018". You can create a new "Now" section based on your source if you wish, but using your own words rather than those of the source. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:30, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Confirmed, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( in the enhanced toolbar, or if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 22:18, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

@Emir of Wikipedia: Hi, Greetings, Thank you for your advice. The fact that you said is very correct and sign is needed for every message. I leave signature after every post of me. But that day I forgot to place it. I only left the message. I will try to never forgot to add signature. Thank you!--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 06:57, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

About WP:PERM

Hello, I noticed that you had a pile of requests for permissions, but almost all were declined. Administrators only grant permissions if there is both: (1) a legitimate need for the permission, and, (2) you have either met or exceeded the requirements for that permission. hat-shopping (please read that) for permissions is frowned upon, as it is thought that you only want those permissions to "show off" to others, and not to actually contribute to the encyclopedia. In severe cases you might even be blocked for disruption. I would advise you to only request for permissions when you are confident that both (1) and (2) are met. Thanks. @Rob3512: Hi, Greetings thank for your advice. Sir, I didn't think the right as a show off to others. I like to contribute wikipedia with that rights. I didn't know about some of that requirements. I thought rollbacker is essential for counter vandalism. It's my mistake. Please give this type of advices in future also. Please help me to improve. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Path slopu (talkcontribs) 23:59, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
Actually, absolutely zero user rights are required to contribute towards Wikipedia. You can literally edit even without an account and still revert vandalism, there is an "undo" button next to every single edit ever made, just click it and write your edit summary, and submit it. Also, please remember to sign your posts with 4 tildes (~). And anyways, you can still request for those rights in due time, just be sure to read the prerequisites, check your logs and make sure you can demonstrate that you need and know how to use that user right. Project News
By Lionelt

Last month's auspicious relaunch of our newsletter precipitated something of an uproar in the Wikipedia community. What started as a localized edit war over censorship spilled over onto the Administrator's Noticeboard finally ending up at Wikipedia's supreme judicial body ArbCom. Their ruling resulted in the admonishment of administrator Future Perfect at Sunrise for his involvement in the dispute. The story was reported by Wikipedia's venerable flagship newspaper The Signpost.

The question of whether to delete all portals--including the 27 Christianity-related portals--was put to the Wikipedia community. Approximately 400 editors have participated in the protracted discussion. Going by !votes, Oppose deletion has a distinct majority. The original Christianity Portal was created on November 5, 2005 by Brisvegas and the following year he successfully nominated the portal for Featured Portal. The Transhumanist has revived WikiProject Portals with hopes of revitalizing Wikipedia's system of 1,515 portals.

The reconstructed frame of Nate Saint's plane used in Operation Auca

Operation Auca was an attempt by five Evangelical Christian missionaries from the United States to make contact with the Huaorani people of the rainforest of Ecuador. The Huaorani, also known as the Aucas, were an isolated tribe known for their violence, both against their own people and outsiders who entered their territory. With the intention of being the first Protestants to evangelize the Huaorani, the missionaries began making regular flights over Huaorani settlements in September 1955, dropping gifts. After several months of exchanging gifts, on January 2, 1956, the missionaries established a camp at "Palm Beach", a sandbar along the Curaray River, a few miles from Huaorani settlements. Their efforts culminated on January 8, 1956, when all five—Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Ed McCully, Peter Fleming, and Roger Youderian—were attacked and speared by a group of Huaorani warriors. The news of their deaths was broadcast around the world, and Life magazine covered the event with a photo essay. The deaths of the men galvanized the missionary effort in the United States, sparking an outpouring of funding for evangelization efforts around the world. Their work is still frequently remembered in evangelical publications, and in 2006, was the subject of the film production End of the Spear. (more...)

The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara, painting by Moritz Daniel Oppenheim, 1862. This depiction departs significantly from the historical record of how Mortara was taken—no clergy were present, for example.
The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara

The Mortara case was a controversy precipitated by the Papal States' seizure of Edgardo Mortara, a six-year-old Jewish child, from his family in Bologna, Italy, in 1858. The city's inquisitor, Father Pier Feletti, heard from a servant that she had administered emergency baptism to the boy when he fell sick as an infant, and the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition held that this made the child irrevocably a Catholic. Because the Papal States had forbidden the raising of Christians by members of other faiths, it was ordered that he be taken from his family and brought up by the Church. After visits from the child's father, international protests mounted, but Pope Pius IX would not be moved. The boy grew up as a Catholic with the Pope as a substitute father, trained for the priesthood in Rome until 1870, and was ordained in France three years later. In 1870 the Kingdom of Italy captured Rome during the unification of Italy, ending the pontifical state; opposition across Italy, Europe and the United States over Mortara's treatment may have contributed to its downfall. The Top 7 report
By Lionelt

The big news was the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Top 7 most popular articles in WikiProject Christianity were:

    1. Elizabeth I of England – legendary monarch who ushered in the Elizabethan Era over the dead body of her half-sister (#5)
    2. Henry VIII of England – on his deathbed the last words of the king who founded the English Reformation were "Monks! Monks! Monks!"
    3. Martin Luther King Jr. – can't wait to see the new US$5 bill featuring the "I Have a Dream" speech
    4. Seven deadly sins – surprisingly "original research" is not one of the Seven deadly sins
    5. Mary, Queen of Scots – arrested for Reigning While Catholic (RWC)
    6. Michael Curry (bishop) – our article says that he upstaged Meghan at her wedding. Did you see her wedding pictures? All I can say is {{dubious}}
    7. Robert F. Kennedy – when informed that missiles were being installed in Cuba he famously quipped, "Can they hit Oxford, Mississippi?"

List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events. Predictions of apocalyptic events that would result in the extinction of humanity, a collapse of civilization, or the destruction of the planet have been made since at least the beginning of the Christian Era. Most predictions are related to Abrahamic religions, often standing for or similar to the eschatological events described in their scriptures. Christian predictions typically refer to events like the Rapture, Great Tribulation, Last Judgment, and the Second Coming of Christ.

Polls conducted in 2012 across 20 countries found over 14% of people believe the world will end in their lifetime, with percentages raging from 6% of people in France to 22% in the US and Turkey. In the UK in 2015, the general public believed the likeliest cause would be nuclear war, while experts thought it would be artificial intelligence. Between one and three percent of people from both countries thought the apocalypse would be caused by zombies or alien invasion. (more...)

It appears that you had been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:India/Quiz. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thanks.  — FR+ 06:18, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Certain points

Let me get this clear with you. First off, I am not an administrator so I cannot delete pages. I can only flag pages for deletion according to the deletion policy of Wikipedia. I have nominated your articles at Articles for deletion where for seven days articles are discussed and then deleted by an involved administrator if any policy based reason is found for deletion. During this time you can participate in the discussion by proving that the article meets the inclusion guidelines (providing reliable third party sources being one such way to prove notability). Secondly, if you have a conflict of interest (any association monetary or otherwise) with the churches then you should refrain from editing those articles altogether, declare your association on your user-page and in general follow the guidelines at WP:COI. Lastly, I think this is the third time I am telling you this but I'll say it again for your benefit Read whatever has been linked to you. If you feel you cannot understand a particular portion ask on my talk page. If I am not available add {{Help me}} to your talk page and some other volunteer will respond to your query. Regards. — FR+ 13:10, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Indic script

Please do NOT add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Chachipunna, and other articles, as this contravenes WP:INDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 10:52, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

@Arjayay: I added Malayalam script because this type of edits is done by other users in so many articles about places in Kerala in the parameter |native_name: of Settlement infobox. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 10:56, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
The fact that other editors break the rules is no reason for you to do so. As explained above, such edits contravene WP:NOINDICSCRIPT and are being removed. As for the template, that is a global template, but there are specific rules for India-related articles. Please do not add any more Indic script, as, now you know the guideline, that would be disruptive editing, thank you - Arjayay (talk) 11:02, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
@Arjayay:Okay I will never try to do this. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 11:05, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages

Hi. I see that you've been creating several disambiguation pages. Please do read MOS:DABNOENTRY for examples of entries that should not be created, specifically: "On a page called Title, do not create entries merely because Title is part of the name". Bennv3771 (talk) 05:55, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Pathanapuram (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Why did you restore the von Vladimiroff page? There are no citations and none of the information given can be found anywhere else? It doesn’t seem very credible to me Historybuffsrule (talk) 10:47, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

@Historybuffsrule:I only tried to prevent vandalism. If there is no citation, you can adopt other ways such as nominate to deletion, etc instead of blanking articles.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 07:32, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest and Copyright violations

since the AfD is closed now.

User:Path slopu can you clarify from where did you get these images of Churches that you are adding. It does not appear to be taken by you, and looks like you are copying them from youtube videos (because of the resolution of the image) this is against WP:COPYVIO policies.--DBigXray 17:02, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

  • Comment - I share DBigXray's concerns about the image. I had nominated one for deletion here. It is not clear who is the owner and without that information, it shouldn't be uploaded as own work.--DreamLinker (talk) 03:17, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Path slopu - In answer to this you made this huge post explaining how you didn't have a COI about those churches. Could you explain in that context this comment where you refer to the community of the church as "our community". — FR+ 09:51, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray:Hi greetings, I took the image from photos of church. It will be uploaded to youtube. If the image is a violation kindly please delete that.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 05:06, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
@FR30799386:Hi greetings, I would like to become a neutral editor. I don't like to become biased editor. If my words violate the basic rules of wikipedia, kindly forgive to me. I won't post such a comment here. It's my mistake. In wikipedia I'm not a part of any community. I'm the part of wikipedia community. I'm giving a apology to yours. Thank you.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 05:06, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
I have reported your pictures for deletion on commmons due to WP:COPYVIO if you repeat this mistake again you may be blocked from wikipiedia, so kindly click the link and understand all the policy. During the upload process you should have mentioned truthfully that you copied the photo from this location with URL but instead you uploaded as "OWN WORK" isnt this a lie ? what do you think ? I guess it may get more hell time for not being truthful. secondly read WP:COI you have to declare on your user page if you have any association with this church In real life (outside of Wikipedia) or other topics that you are editing. --DBigXray 13:35, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
Path slopu, You are repeatedly denying that you are in any way associated with the aforementioned churches and their communities. However in your comment at the recent files for deletion at Commons raises red flags since you refer to the community of the church as "our believers" and we. We don't need an apology regarding your comments since they have not broken any "basic law of Wikipedia". What we need is an explanation or declaration regarding your connection in relation to the church. No body will penalize you for having a conflict of interest provided that you have declared it and are editing as per WP:COI, rather it is undisclosed conflict of interest that can lead to a ban on editing. TL;DR : We need an explanation not an apology. Additionally, please read whatever is being linked. — FR+ 16:33, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

User:Path slopu can you reply to the above question from me and Fr? --DBigXray 10:31, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

Merges/AfD

Please propose mergers on article talk pages per WP:MERGE - AfD is only for articles being proposed for deletion. Thanks. --Michig (talk) 12:04, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

Please review the deletion policy, and the assuming good faith guidelines and follow them. It is extremely clear that you are not taking Wikipedia seriously. Please stop this sort of a behavior. — fr+ 13:41, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
@Michig:Hi greetings, Thank you for your advice. I proposed the articles for deletion because of there are another article about same topic is existed. Such double articles may misunderstand readers. So I tried to nominate it to AfD. But accidentally I used a word Merge in reason. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 15:50, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
@FR30799386:Hi greetings, Thank you for your advice. Sir I'm only a newcomer in wikipedia. I am learning the rules and guidelines of wikipedia one by one. I am reducing my mistakes by advice got from experienced users like you. I'm not an experienced user like you. I didn't know all rules of wikipedia. Comparing to you I am very small in experience. I understand wikipedia through editing and advice got from others. Please help me. I am taking wikipedia as seriously, but I made some mistakes due to my lack of experience. I am improving me day by day in wikipedia with my experiences. Please help me, if you like. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 15:50, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
It is not about being experienced and not being experienced. I and DBigXray have repeatedly asked you to read the basic deletion and notability policies of Wikipedia. I personally have explained to you parts of the policy here and on my talk page, yet you seem to be doing things that are explicitly discouraged by that same policy. Additionally, you claimed at WP:PERM that you had read and understood WP:NPP which explicitly says Reviewing new pages needs a thorough knowledge of deletion and notability guidelines. and minutes later you did something that is explicitly discouraged by the deletion guidelines. Despite all of this do you still want us to believe that all your mistakes are newbie mistakes ? — fr+ 10:25, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
@FR30799386:Thank you for your advice. I will obey the deletion policy. Sir, I tried to nominate articles to AfD because there is another article of same topic is existed. Thank you.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 10:38, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
Go and immediately and again read the WP:Deletion policy. If you have any doubts after reading it ask on my talk page. — fr+ 11:26, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
And after reading, do comment back here which particular policy did you obeyed or violated in your action when you nominated these articles. This will help you to understand the mistakes and learn from it.--DBigXray 11:36, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray:@FR30799386:Thank you for your advice. I read the reasons for deletion in deletion policy. I think it was content forking (5th reason in Reasons for deletion) in that articles. Can I use blank and redirect mentioned here. Please help.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:00, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
You are correct. They are content forks, however you should not just blank and redirect them rather you should perform a merge and then blank and redirect them. — fr+ 09:39, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Just to add a point to What FR said, while copying from one article to other you "have" to mention the wiki article from where u copied or add a link. this is to satisy the Copyright policies. you can read more on that policy here Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. And if the page from where you are copying has a substantial page history, (more than a few edits) then it is better to do a history merge by posting here Wikipedia:Proposed_mergers#Requests_for_merge_assistance_and_feedback
@DBigXray:@FR30799386:Thank you for your valuable advice. I have one doubt that when I merging articles, should I create MfD mentioned in WP:MERGE. These are examples for article for merge that I have suggested-- merge Pathirapally to Pathirappally, merge Thazhakara to Thazhakkara. Am I right? Please help.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 14:11, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Good Question, Whether you should ask for merger or do it yourself or start a discussion depends on several factors.
  1. You have to think if there can be possible opposition to the mergers for valid reasons. If you think someone can protest against the merger, it is better to start a new merger discussion on the talk page as mentioned in the WP:MERGE.
  2. You have to decide per WP:COMMONNAME which name is more popular and which name should be the target of merge and which should be a redirect after the merge. The popular name in the media is generally the target of the merge. If you are unable to decide, you can start a merger discussion to decide the target.
  3. If you think that there would be no oppose vote then you can be WP:BOLD and start the merger process by following the step by step procedure of of merge process.
  4. If there is more than a few edits on the pages to be merged, then copy paste merge is not suggested. it will need a WP:HISTMERGE that only an admin can do, you can make a request.
Based on these suggestions above, what do you think is the right step to proceed for your 2 examples ? (Yes I agree that they are candidate for merger)--DBigXray 14:23, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray:Thank you for advice. As you said in 2nd suggestion, I have found that the popular name of articles (name Pathirappally and Thazhakkara is most popular). I think that the people may oppose merge is the creators of page. Some of them were blocked and some are not live in wikipedia today. There are only 10-20 history in articles. Is it need history merge? Please helpPATH SLOPU (Talk) 14:42, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Why do you think the page creators will oppose ? what reason can they possibly give ? is it reasonable and per policy ? think and reply to these questions, that will help to decide. --DBigXray 14:44, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
@DBigXray:Hi greetings, Thank you for your advice. I think there is no other people oppose this merging. Hence we can start it. We found the popular name. Kindly please merge the Thazhakara to Thazhakkara. Then I can follow the correct method. Please help. Thank you.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 13:13, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
I think there is no need of history merge. I do not know if that's right. Thank you.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 13:19, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
Yes, its a 2 line stub, so History merge will not be necessary. but for longer articles, you MUST request history merge, for Copyright reasons. You can follow the steps mentioned at WP:MERGETEXT in a step by step manner. You can do it yourself and then I will check if you missed any step. It is easy. --DBigXray 14:27, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Your attempted merge of Karwar and Karwar, Karnataka

Hello. I have reverted your edits since "cut-and-paste mergers" aren't allowed. Mergers must be done the proper way, i.e. through a history merge and clean-up, in order to preserve the page history of both articles (so that it's easy to see who did what). For how to request such a merger see Wikipedia:Proposed mergers. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 16:43, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

Yes, that task is best suited for AWB. Are you doing this for wikiproject kollam? If yes, can you give me an estimate about the pages? You can also requests tasks for bots at Wikipedia:Bot requests, where other editors with bots do that task. Similarly there is also WP:AWB/Tasks. Hi, since your previous Afd nominations turned out to be wrong, as all places are considered notable according to WP:GEOLAND, I might be able to help you to some extent. You must read guidelines such as WP:N, WP:GNG, WP:NACTOR, WP:NPOL, WP:SPORTSPERSON. Similarly, there are many more which you should be aware of. WP:BIO tells about the criteria for biographies, and if the criteria is not met, then you can nominate for Afd. Remember to do WP:BEFORE as well. WP Kollam

Hi. Do you want me to tag the articles with talkpage banner? —usernamekiran(talk) 19:43, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest and support. If you like please help me by adding it. Also kindly please give advises in using it in JWB.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:04, 12 October 2018 (UTC)
unfortunately, I have never used JWB; and I have no idea how it works. —usernamekiran(talk) 18:02, 12 October 2018 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) User talk:Usernamekiran, JWB is "almost" the same (although with less features) as AWB. WP:JWB can run on a browser, whereas AWB needs to be run on a client. --DBigXray 18:11, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

New Page Patrol

Copied from my talk page :

I would like to become a New Page reviewer in wikipedia. I saw you in WP:NPP/S as a trainer. If you like, kindly please help me.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 08:32, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Path slopu Thanks for your interest in New Page Patrol. I'd love to, and normally would, but unfortunately am heading off on holiday where I will have limited internet access over the next few weeks (literally about to board the flight), and won't be able to help on WP much until mid October. I'd suggest asking at WT:NPR instead. Cheers, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 09:18, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi there Path slopu. I am back from holiday and able to help if you have some interest in joining NPP. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 07:43, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi greetings, I would like to join NPP. Would you mind to help me? Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:05, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Path slopuFirst thing I can suggest is: Make sure you understand Wikipedia:New pages patrol, make sure you understand Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, and Familiarise yourself with the NPP Flowchart.

To make it a bit more private, lets continue our conversation here.

@Insertcleverphrasehere:Thank you for your help. I installed the scripts.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:39, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Cool, take your time and look over those articles. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 12:40, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
@Insertcleverphrasehere:I checked the articles. This is my actions on it. I don't know is it correct. Please help me by correcting my mistakes. Thank you--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 13:12, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Article Action Reason notes from Insertcleverphrasehere
Ruslan Gorovyi Keep Notable-BLP Yes.
Jonathan Crowe keep with tagging {{WikiProject Biography|living=yes}} Notable-BLP Yes. References are pretty bad (mostly affiliated), but he meets some of the WP:PROF criteria.
Golden Cañedo CSD A7 Unremarkable person "She is the first grand winner of The Clash." sounds like a notable claim to me. Not eligable for A7. Searching google news, I see a lot of coverage. I wouldn't tag for deletion of any kind, though I would drop {{refimprove}} on the article.
Settlement of Nandi Keep Notability place Notable topic, but not a 'place' Nadni County is the place. Optionally could be merged to Nadni County, but some might object. Best to just mark it as reviewed and move on.
1979 Segunda División de Chile, A7 Unremarkable Would not qualify for WP:A7. A7 should only be used for blatant examples (minor youtube channel with few views, unremarkable high school students, etc.) See WP:NSEASONS for relevant guideline advice on this "Articles can be created on individual seasons of teams in top professional leagues, as these articles almost always meet the notability requirements.". Whether "top professional leagues" counts tier 3 or not is up for debate, but I suspect it is notable if you look in news searches of more recent seasons (this season would have been covered in print media, but pre-dates the internet age). I personally wouldn't take it to AfD, and I'd just tag it for more references and mark it as reviewed.
Ghassem Hashemi Nezhad,   A1/A3 No enough content. If content is added more, we can consider it in BLP Go re-read WP:A1 and WP:A3. There is clear context here and the 'no-content' one should really only be used where literally nothing has been written except unfilled templates (use both of these very sparingly, and in general use CSD only in the most blatant of circumstances). Both of the obituaries in this article actually look quite good, expecially the first source which is very comprehensive (you have to use google translate for these, I recommend Chrome as it has a built in 'translate' button). For foriegn articles you have to search with both his name in english (in this case there are two options) as well as in persian [1]. In the persian search... whats that? A Persian Wikipedia article. Actually this has been linked in the bottom left of the english article, and if you go there you will find an expansive article with a large list of works and references. This needs to be tagged with {{expand Persian}} and ticked off as reviewed.
Audrey Denney, Keep Notable-BLP Yes
Frances Broaddus-Crutchfield, Keep Notable-BLP Yes
New Zealand physical disability national rugby league team, A1 No enough content and problems in wikilinks You definitely can't A1 something like this. I've seen people turn down an A1 because the context was clear from the title (e.g. Bla bla bla (film) is clearly a film with the title 'Bla bla bla'). If you tried an A1 on this it would be turned down instantly. When I see coverage like this, I'm pretty sure they are notable and won't be pursuing any deletion options.
List of Earls in the reign of Edward II of England merge to Main Article   There is no need of separate article The problem is, You can't merge this into Edward II of England, as it doesn't really belong there. There isn't really anything wrong with this list, it just isn't integrated anywhere. (referencing being necessary in lists like this is debatable as all of the individual articles have the date information referenced in them). List of Earls in the reign of Edward I of England exists, as does List of Earls in the reign of Henry III of England (the two previous kings). While usually a series of lists like this would be linked via a template at the bottom, the user who made these might not have known how. In any case, I probably would just mark this as 'reviewed'. See WP:LISTN, but think whether "Earls in the reign of Edward II of England" sounds like a notable topic (I think there would be quite a few books, and [there are]). I can't find an existing list of historical earls that this might be merged into (if that's what you were referring to), but you could perhaps take the whole lot of these 'per ruler' lists and merge them together.

  • I filled in another column with notes and my conclusions. I don't want to he harsh, but you have a long way to go. In general your understanding of CSD needs a lot of work (always use CSD sparingly and only in the most blatant examples). Always do a google search before any kind of deletion nomination and make an assessment whether the topic meets GNG requirements (sources don't have to be in the article to meet GNG, they just have to exist). I'd suggest that you go participate in WP:AfD discussions for a while instead, this will give you a more solid understanding of notability, which you currently need to work on. AfD needs more users participating as well, so you would be of much help over there. I'd start with older discussions, where some editors have already !voted with opinions, so you can start to understand what the arguments are. Always do a google search on the topic before !voting at AfD, especially in Google News and in Google Books (as appropriate depending on the topic), and always check the relevant criteria in the notability box at the right of this section. Come back to me in a month or two and I'll do another assessment with you. Don't worry, its all part of the learning process. Cheers, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 14:27, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Orthodox Syrian Sunday School Association of the East is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Orthodox Syrian Sunday School Association of the East until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Gfosankar (talk) 15:27, 5 January 2019 (UTC)

Just a note

Good to see you back, I'd just like to note that you cannot both Keep and Merge an article. If you vote keep, nothing changes with respect to the article, if you vote merge, you advocate moving the text of the article to another article followed by redirection of the source. That is, both are mutually exclusive and cannot occur concurrently. Regards. — fr+ 06:15, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

@FR30799386:Hi greetings, I think you might see my vote in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kenneth Nash (2nd nomination). I mean keep with merge not keep and merge. Realizing this problem, I strike out my first statement and later posted another. Please see this. Wish you a prosperous 2019. Thanks--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:31, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
That's good. I'd also like to note that you could include some sources to demonstrate how an article passes a particular guidelines rather than just linking to the guidelines. Regards. << FR 15:25, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your advice. You are right. When I saw an AfD I search in Google to find the reliability of topic. If I see anything, I will place my vote. But I didn't linked the website. I will try to link the pages even now. Thank you.--PATH SLOPU (Talk) 15:55, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
