Never edited an article before, so thought i'd put these ideas and bits of information here first for people to comment on before messing about with stuff and making a mess of things.

Firstly, the FGD for Units 3 and 4 is now complete and operational.

Also there are now plans for a multi fuel CHP plant on the site. http://www.sse.com/Ferrybridge/TheMultiFuelProject/

And a carbon capture pilot scheme is currently under construction, which will capture 1% of the flue gas from Unit 4 (equivalant to 5MW). http://www.sse.com/Ferrybridge/TheCCSProject/

The figure of 218 million litres of CW an hour doesn't really mean anything to me... it's quite a difficult thing to imagine... maybe stating something along the lines that this equates to the 4 CW pumps delivering roughly 60 tonnes of CW every second... or enough to fill an olympic sized swimming pool in under a minute, might help people visualise just how much 218 million litres an hour is.

There is a note stating "Not to be confused with Eggborough Power Station or Drax Power Station" at the beginning of the article, which is fair enough as they all sit in a line within about 15 miles of each other and are easily confused, but there's no similar note on either the Eggborough or Drax articles. Seems sensible that this warning should be included on all 3 articles or none at all, rather than just one. Cms108 (talk) 00:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal

In 1999 however, Ferrybridge Power Station, along with Fiddlers Ferry power station in Cheshire, was sold to Edison Mission Energy with the provision that Unit 4 be restored to its original condition.

Needs source. The article already lacks some sources. Further detail needs sources too.

A station chimney(s)

The illustration showing the 1927 buildings clearly shows four chimneys - presumably one for each pair of boilers.

End of barge transport

Aire_and_Calder_Navigation#Traffic cites Nicholson Waterways Guide (Volume 6) as saying "Coal carrying came to an abrupt halt in 2003 when the St Aidan's opencast mine was exhausted and the coal from Kellingley colliery was found to have levels of sulphur content high above the acceptable limit." So does the sentence, "Barge transport ended in the late 1990s" need amending?Johnragla (talk) 09:14, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can't provide an independent citation for this, but I was employed at Ferrybridge during 2002 and they were definitely still receiving coal by barge then - I watched some being unloaded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.113.170.97 (talk) 15:42, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
