==Commercial use of Image:Carleton-Uni.jpg==

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Carleton-Uni.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Carleton-Uni.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Carleton-Uni.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. License tagging for Image:Carleton-University-south-view.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Carleton-University-south-view.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Annan Carleton.jpg}

Thank you for uploading Image:Annan Carleton.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image copyright problem with Image:Momate.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Momate.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Thank you for uploading this media, (it's appreciated.)

However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)

Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)

You may wish to read Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators which will assist you :)

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 03:51, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a thread at the admin noticeboard at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Dispute_copied_from_User_talk:NuclearWarfare concerning the image dispute you are involved in. You may or may not have a point about the images, but please calm down and avoid being aggressive towards User:Editor182. Overuse of bolding, calling his images "terrible", etc. isn't helping reach a resolution. Please read WP:Dispute resolution for tips on how to approach this. Let other editors give their views rather than the whole talk page being filled with a "tennis match" between you and Editor182. Fences&Windows 22:04, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Paracetamol. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. and in Sertraline and Temazepam — raeky (talk | edits) 08:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ANI

I've provided some advice over at ANI regarding the issue you're involved in with 182. To be clear, it's advice and not a rule. I'm suggesting you avoid 182 and edit in a different area for a while. Thanks. N419BH 15:30, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Images

Hi Kristoferb, there's been a request on RfPP to protect pages against your editing because of the repeated insertion of images. [1] I don't know the background, but if there are multiple people opposing the images being added, please don't keep inserting them, but discuss on talk instead, and if that doesn't work try an article RfC. Continuing to revert could lead to page protection or blocks. Many thanks, SlimVirgin talk|contribs 14:21, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is 182 forum shopping again? He just removed his last warning from his talk page. Please refer to the ANI about the subject. — raeky (talk | edits) 14:23, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
SlimVirgin's been informed of the ANI thread, and has left an additional warning at Editor182's talk page. It's okay to remove posts from your own talk page (see WP:OWNTALK). This is taken as evidence that the warning has been read. It's still in the history regardless. N419BH 14:42, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt SlimVirgin will want to get involved in this, there are other admins though that are formulating a plan, and I've left him an message of todays events. And more are watching the ANI. — raeky (talk | edits) 14:46, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BCE/BC

Regarding your recent edits to Eurasian Land Bridge. The expansion of the article from a redirect on at 10:05, 21 November 2009 used the BCE notation and the article should maintain that usage. The links are there for those who don't understand CE or BCE. Please don't edit war over that. Vsmith (talk) 22:11, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The BCE/ CE article itself notes that BC and AD is more commonly used. Not sure why you prefer the oddball notation. --Kristoferb (talk) 22:14, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My personal preference is irrelevant. As noted above the expansion of the article used the CE notation and we usually go with that to avoid various spelling/usage wars. If you would like the article changed in that regard, then you are welcome to suggest it on the article talk page for input from others. You might even ask the users who essentially created the article last Nov-Dec for their input. Vsmith (talk) 22:30, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents

In your recent edit, one of the sentences you created was "In signatory states, such as the United States, apostilles are usually affixed by the Office of the Secretary of State in each US state or territory." This does not make sense. The phrase "signatory states" does not refer to states of the United States,it refers to countries (that is states) which have signed the convention. Since only the USA has US states or territories within it, this sentence can only apply to the USA, but the sentence is phrased to apply to all countries.

I ask that you review what you were trying to get across and rephrase accordingly. Jc3s5h (talk) 22:16, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removing my image

Do not remove any of my images, and I won't remove any of yours. If I have a problem with one of your images or you have a problem with one of my images, then we seek an opinion from an administrator or an established user and allow them to remove it. That's what I was told when I was banned. I will contact Raeky[2] for his opinion, and whatever he says goes. All my images are "cell phone images", it still has 5 megapixel/Carl Zeiss optics/Xenon flash, which is a reasonable camera. Editor182 (talk) 08:59, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop personalizing this. In general, your photos are bad - the fact that this photo is less poor than your normal standard is beside the point. Indeed, the fact that you tout the flash on your cell phone as an asset tells us you have no idea how to take a proper picture. Maybe you should just get a grip on reality and stop being a malicious and bothersome presence on Wikipedia. --Kristoferb (talk) 15:48, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lets not start fighting about this again, the picture he added was a brand name packaging for the drug, although it is a "cell phone" image, we could do worse. 182 should think about getting a better camera though, one that doesn't have a fixed lens and is able to focus, but that's another issue. I don't have an issue with the new image, and the way the article is right now is fine I think. — raekyt 12:39, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kristoferb, in the future, do not send me any messages[3] or I'll report it as harassment. Given our past, it's best that you stay away from my work and I stay awake from yours. Don't attempt to police or dispute my edits or media. I'm sure the Wikipedia community can take care of any issues there may be with our edits or media, but I don't wish to communicate with you at all, which I'm sure you can understand. File permission problem with File:TS boarding pass April 2000.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:TS boarding pass April 2000.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SV1XV (talk) 17:05, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Air Koryo

About Air Koryo,

The reason why I added the image of Sunan is because I suspect the head office is inside the terminal. I do not have a citation that says that explicitly, but I don't know of a dedicated head office in Sunan District. WhisperToMe (talk) 10:15, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see.
Usually when there is a company or a government agency, you have a photo of the head office in the article.
Most of the time the head office is in a dedicated building. Sometimes it is inside an airport terminal (like airBaltic), and in that case the terminal image is posted in the airline article.
WhisperToMe (talk) 11:40, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I fired an e-mail to the company to see what they would say.
In the case of AirBaltic, it was an e-mail that confirmed that the HQ is in the terminal. Even though this isn't explicitly stated on the website, the e-mail confirmed that the HQ is inside the terminal.
As I have made countless photo requests for airline headquarters around the world, I am aware that usually the airline HQs are in separate buildings. In the case of Sunan, I haven't seen any separate buildings that would be the Air Koryo offices, based upon the photos I've seen.
WhisperToMe (talk) 12:43, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"I'm not convinced. I don't think you make a viable case for repeating images in a string of article where each image holds greater than average value"
Okay, I don't understand your point now. I thought you were only talking about Air Koryo. A string of article?
WhisperToMe (talk) 13:00, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for the Sunan District article, the airport is located there anyway, so we have the image of the airport for the sake of showing the airport.
For Air Koryo, I'll be happy to leave it in the gallery unless or until I get an e-mail or find a source confirming that the HQ is in the terminal building.
WhisperToMe (talk) 13:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Quite honestly I think it's an improvement, and looking at the gallery there are too many photos of Air Koryo planes. If you are going to have a gallery, you need to have a variety of types of images.
With other airlines, anyway, sometimes articles do have images of main hubs (Continental Airlines has images of Houston and Newark airports - Continental_Airlines#Destinations, Delta Air Lines has a photo of the "Fly Delta Jets" sign at Atlanta - Delta_Air_Lines#Hub_information)

Temazepam image

Kindly stop removing the Normison image from the temazepam article. We've discussed images before and agreed not to remove each others media without the approval of an administrator in order to avoid edit warring. If you have a problem with the Normison image quality, then you can bring it up with an administrator, otherwise please stop removing the image. PS: I did not replace the generic image of temazepam, I moved it down the page. Editor182 (talk) 10:50, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Airmail

I noticed you added File:Parcels loaded on Asiana flight.JPG to Airmail but I don't see anything that verifies the parcels are actually airmail parcels being loaded. There is no post office indication for any postal administration that I can see, but there are some DHL logos on one of the containers. What makes you suggest this is airmail? What are the logos on the back of the two guys at the left side? Perhaps they are postal staff. I am pretty sure there are other better images that are clearly airmail being loaded. Drop me a {{talkback}} when you reply here. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 15:40, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Civility

Your recent comment to a fellow editor was not terribly constructive. If you wish him to change the text you quote, it would be useful to at least identify where you found that text rather than attack that editor's professional competence. Please consider revising your words.LeadSongDog come howl! 13:58, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, you still have not identified where the defective text was found. Searching does not readily furnish an answer. If one wishes to have a problem addressed, it is always useful to say what the problem is. If you want the particular editor to correct it, then there are bonus points for asking them nicely, as in "Could you please clarify what you meant at wp:DIFF?" LeadSongDog come howl! 15:43, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, I certainly am not a child. I was endeavouring to maintain a light tone, in the hope that might help bring you to a more cooperative frame of mind. I see that was not effective and shall take my efforts elsewhere. Good luck.LeadSongDog come howl! 16:54, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've repeatedly replaced the photo on the Nokia 3510 page with a photo of an entirely different looking phone (one that you've taken). I'm not sure what model the phone you're replacing it with is, but it doesn't look like a 3510. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 03:23, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Clostridium butyricum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anaerobic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Per this guideline we here on Wikipedia use review articles and major textbooks as references rather than primary research articles. Thanks and happy editing. --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 12:07, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Askachineselawyer.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 23:04, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
