Needs a picture. Actually, may not need to be here at all. An article on storage proteins, or Iodine metabolism might be more useful.

Image moved here temporarily

The following anatomical image is moved here to Talk, as it lacks a legend, its labels are not mentioned in the text, and when the text addresses anatomical matters, it uses different terms distinct from those appearing in the image labels. Hence, even to a well-educated reader, reading the text and image in the context of one another is confusing. On return of the image to the article, please rectify the issues with regard to stand-alone understandability, and also create a <ref>...</ref> entry citing Gray et al 1918 available at the image entry at Wikimedia Commons (since being out of copyright does not, in honest academic work—see [1]—allow use of material without attribution/recognition of source.
