Talk:Lonnie Johnson (inventor)

Notability

While the article does read like an advertisement, like the inventor himself wrote it, I can say that there shouldn't be much of a question about the notobility...as the Super Soaker is arguable the most famous water gun ever created, and one of the most popular toys period..and Lonnie is it's creator. The a good article can be written skimming the most pertainent facts from what is given, and a few citations.

I agree. He is worth having a Wiki page, but this is not it (it's the worst page I have seen). A complete rewrite, perhaps 1/4 the size of the current page, is needed. The honors listed may be relevant, but could be easily reduced to a simple chronological list, without all of the embellishments.

Approximately half of the article was a copy/paste job from http://web.mit.edu/invent/iow/johnson.html. I removed the offending material and tidied up the article. I agree that it's notable enough to merit an article. Andrew Spinner 14:54, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New article

I thought some of the more active contributors might wish to use this article I came across amongst my coffee break surfing: "Who Made That Super-Soaker?" - Jack Sebastian (talk) 15:35, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Law firm?

I find it hard to believe a non-lawyer started his own law firm. Perhaps he started his own company to license the Super Soaker? 75.39.104.191 (talk) 17:55, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup in career section

The career section shouldn't be listed like a CV, nor should it have sentences that are mostly quotation. I'll try to come back and fix this over the weekend. ChunyangD (talk) 05:15, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
