German Jew?

In response to my removal of category German Jew, I got this on my user talk page. I copy it here in case anyone else wants to help:

Here are reliable sources:

If he converted to Judaism, as that page says, then say so in the article, with a source. But don't use that source that's a copy of an old wikipedia article (an article which no longer mentions him, by the way). I couldn't get anything from the second source. What does it say? Who wrote it? Dicklyon (talk) 01:35, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another source: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/biography/hertz.html

Common sence says that if he wasn't than anti semitism and the nazi's would have not concerned him(and that it says on all sources)(talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:06, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not so sure that your common sense about Nazi's passes as a reliable source. The article already said he was classified as a “second degree part-Jew”; it would be good to have an accessible source for that, as it sounds plausible, but at least there are three plausible-looking source books cited on that paragraph. But that doesn't make him Jewish, does it? Dicklyon (talk) 17:11, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well again by religion i can't tell you but by ethnicity yes, but again i don't think there is an absolute yes(he was) or no(he wasn't) to those things.(talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:04, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He came from the Jews! Fact! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.232.55.106 (talk) 16:13, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and his famous Brother Heinrich Hertz was also a ethnic Jew! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.246.210.221 (talk) 23:40, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
