Genetic deletionDeletion (genetics) — To make consistent with Insertion (genetics). Deletion (genetics) would have been my guess for the correct title. —Seans Potato Business 10:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC). Coped from WP:RM by Stemonitis 11:14, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support - This will bring the "Genetic deletion" article into consistency with the Insertion (genetics) article. In the field of genetics, it's referred to as just 'deletion' because the context is known, thus one would automatically be inclined to specifiy genetics in brackets (i.e. search for "Deletion (genetics)") as is custom on Wikipedia. I do believe that it's policy to make the article title the most commonly (or likely commonly) searched permutation. --Seans Potato Business 11:24, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request of redirection from indels

Another common way to refer to genetic insertion and deletion is to use the term indel(s). However, currently this is only the city indel. There are also a few other technicalities related to this term. As an example see the NCBI "indel" inconsistencies: ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/hapmap/genotypes/2010-08_phaseII+III/inconsistencies/422_known_indels.txt . An example of this should be mentioned.
