Chemical structure

There seems to be some inconsistency in what is reported as the chemical structure of cresyl violet. Here are two possibilities with links to database entries:

CAS Number: 18472-89-4 "Cresyl Violet"

Sigma-Aldrich "Cresyl Violet acetate" (different counterion)
ChemSpider "Cresyl Violet" (no counterion)
CAS Number: 63594-68-3 for chloride counterion, no common name given as a synonym
CAS Number: 10510-54-0 for acetate counterion, "Cresyl violet acetate" given as synonym

So probably cresyl violet is the first one. But "cresyl violet acetate" is not just cresyl violet with acetate as the counterion instead of chloride, but it also has different substitution on the benzophenoxazine core. ChemNerd (talk) 14:58, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
