New issues?

It's been a while a new issue is issued. I'm wondering if I'd like to contribute to the newsletter. Who are actively managing this? — DaxServer (t · m · c) 12:53, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DaxServer, @Andrybak I think. — Qwerfjkltalk 17:09, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@JPxG sent the last one, and @DannyS712 the one before that. But it hasn't published in a year, so I think anyone with the time and motivation should feel free to send it. The current draft is at Wikipedia:Scripts++/Next. –Novem Linguae (talk) 05:16, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. I have been rather busy with the Signpost recently, which seems to occupy most of the attention I have for writing periodicals here; I would be quite happy if someone else picked it up, and give my blessing to anyone who wants to give it a shot. jp×g 11:48, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@JPxG @Novem Linguae sorry, I've been away for a while and don't have enough time or motivation to work on this (plus I gave up the MMS rights) - please consider adopting this if you have time DannyS712 (talk) 15:50, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

new archiver script

Bugs fixed with User:Σ/Testing facility/Archiver, resulting in User:Enterprisey/archiver. Enterprisey (talk!) 06:58, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Added to the next issue's draft. —andrybak (talk) 08:17, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Send soon?

@Aaron Liu. Thanks for revitalizing this. /Next is looking pretty good! Want to fill in featured script and requested scripts, then send it soon? I think the main section is nice and full and any additional scripts for there should probably go in the next issue. –Novem Linguae (talk) 04:32, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I've done some stuff. Could you have a look? Aaron Liu (talk) 16:25, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Aaron Liu. Looks good to me. Let's ship it! You can request someone send it for you by clicking here. Things to watch out for: 1) make sure the newsletter message has a signature so that archive bots archive it. 2) I see a lot of user page links in the newsletter. A test message should be sent, and then someone with their user link in the newsletter asked if they received a ping, to make sure that everyone who is linked in the newsletter isn't pinged a bajillion times when the MMS goes out. Thanks for rejuvenating Scripts++?! –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:38, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No need for a test message. A ping is sent out only of mass message has an actual signature typed with four tildes during sending of the message. Issues of newsletters are signed prior to sending out. Example: Special:Diff/1061823735. —andrybak (talk) 13:42, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aaron Liu, thank you for sending the newsletter out! —andrybak (talk) 15:18, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The return!

I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to (finally) have this appear in my notifications box. Time to find scripts to review! Zippybonzo | talk | contribs (he|she|they) 15:18, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for everyone who started to work on this - I've been away for a while and while I recently returned I haven't had the time to spend on script news, its great to see that this is now becoming a community thing! DannyS712 (talk) 16:13, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
