Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:08, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aleksandr Sergeevič Višnevskij, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Expedition (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Alexander Vishnevskiy Cave

Bonjour, sur List of deepest caves, Alexander Vishnevskiy Cave a été supprimé (Višnevskij cave deleted only 1158 m deep). D'après [1] et

[2] la profondeur est de 1284 m? Amitiés.

Bonjour collègue spéléologue,

at first let me congratulate you on your fine work at the List of deepest caves (LDC) wikipedia article! I worked, since November 2018, intermittently, on improving the LDC when it had only 13 entries and I came to version 38 of the new LDC, till the depth of 1300 m (you reached much furter, till 1252 m), at the end of April this year, but did not finish or publish it. I hope to put this work to use, in a dialogue with you, some time later this year. A few changes I already made in my last contribution, most notable being the moving of all the references to their own chapter. Višnevskij cave received a lot of attention on Internet, mostly in sensation-prone news releases, but very few articles by the explorers, virtually none in English. Even the figure given in my explanation of changes made to LDC, 1158 m, was too optimistic. I made some deeper checks and the most reliable figure is given in the entry of the Russian cave registry - speleoatlas.ru, of caves in Russia and adjacent countries where Russian cavers are also involved. The entry [3] states that the Višnevskij cave depth is 1131 m. The value of 1151 m, used in the English page of the explorers' web site [4] will be corrected to 1131 m very soon. Bob Gulden's list [5] often lacks proper reference in the Source column, sometimes it is just an e-mail from someone who does not respond to inquiries or a web site which does not exist. Depth of Višnevskij cave will hopefully increase this August [6] Amitiés. PJakopin (talk) 09:07, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your answer, if you are interested in the cavities you can look on the French Wikipedia [7] the articles on the caves where I participate. Friendships.

A most impressive site, nearly 300 KB! The most complete imaginable. Great work. Could help you with a better coupe de Verëvkina. Amitiés.

Hello
if you publish on wikipedia commons a new cup of Verëvkina I will put it on the article dedicated to the cavity. Merci. Amitiés.....

Bonjour
J'ai vu que sur caverbob.com [[8]] la profondeur de Vishevsky - Boylok (Boybuloq) est de
2033 m pour 25000 m de développement. Les cavités sont reliées? Amitiés.
Biboc Biboc (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Data about Boybuloq and Višnevskij caves on List of deepest caves (English Wikipedia) are correct, while data on caverbob site are not. The 2022 Russian Boybuloq expedition was limited in scope to explorations in Boybuloq only. The minimal distance between the two caves remained at 70 meters, achieved in 2021. Only intermediate reports, during the expedition in August 2022, were published as news on vk.com (Russian equivalent of Facebook) speleo group site https://vk.com/speleologi_vk. Final report, usually published every year on the site http://sgs.su/ of the expedition organizer several months later, was not published to this day. The answer to several inquiries I made was that the data on the site https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BA_%D0%B3%D0%BB%D1%83%D0%B1%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%B0%D0%B9%D1%88%D0%B8%D1%85_%D0%BF%D0%B5%D1%89%D0%B5%D1%80 are correct and that the final report will be published soon. Inaccurate data on caverbob site are attributed to Vladimir Dolgij (not Dolgly) or his son with the same name, who is the expedition's local travel agent in Uzbekistan. I did not yet write to Paul Burger of https://cave-exploring.com, who now continues the work of Robert Gulden, to correct the inaccuracies about Boybuloq and Višnevskij caves on caverbob list, as a reliable source such as the 2022 expedition report, published on sgs.su is still not available. My suggestion is to wait until it becomes available - and I will do my best to help with the more timely publication of the Boybuloq 2023 expedition results.
Best regards PJakopin (talk) 19:26, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, see you soon Biboc (talk) 08:19, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I have written an article about Boybuloq 2022 and 2023 expeditions and sent it to the expedition leader for authorisation past Saturday morning (the article is based on interview with him I made in Dehibolo). I still got no reply. If and when I do I will let you know. There is a small notice on the site vk.com (Russian Facebook) but I do not know if it is acceptable as a reference. It was acceptable in the wiki article about Verevkina cave. Amities PJakopin (talk) 04:45, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
today I have published a more useful Profile with surface of the Verevkina cave, at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ver%C3%ABvkina_cave_-_profile_with_surface.svg.
Amitiés. PJakopin (talk) 06:11, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
