Thanks for the note. Well, I wouldn't have put it there if I thought it was the wrong structure. These kinds of materials are far more complicated than suggested by the picture that you left behind, which is intended for folks who like stoichiometric cartoons, but its almost a joke for inorganic chemists, right? 3-coordinated Bi(V) with Bi=O bonds.

@Smokefoot:, sodium bismuthate doesn't have a perovskite structure. I suppose I should also remove the other image and look to see if there are any better images to replace them with.

Bulk removal of links to vinyl

Please don't do this - it's not an overall improvement to the encyclopedia.

Yes, the link target to vinyl was wrong. However it was still a valid link (in fact, many valid links). It's important to preserve these, even if the target is wrong - the fix is to switch them to a better link, not simply remove them. If there isn't a better link, either create one or just leave the original link (much of WP is less than ideal).

I've created a redirect at vinyl (fabric) which is a better target to point them at. This avoids the target being wrong, and it allows the link sources to be preserved (this is much better than trying to re-add them later). Andy Dingley (talk) 17:07, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

My driving forces were (1) obstinance, apparently, (2) a visceral dislike of the cartoon of three-coordinate Bi(V) species with Bi=O multiple bonds, and (3) my ignorance about ilmenite vs perovskite. Category Question

Hi OrganoMetallurgy... I recently edited the article FlAsH-EDT2 and noticed you had changed the categories, adding it to Organoarsenic dithiolates (which it is, of course). However, it is also an arsenic heterocycle which is true of many of these dithiolates (like melarsoprol and arsthinol), but not all (such as melarsomine or arsenamide). I'm wondering if the ones that do have arsenic cycles should be included in Category:Arsenic heterocycles as well as in the dithiolate category that you have created? I also wonder why arsenic heterocycles like the tetramer phenylarsine oxide is in organoarsenic compounds but not the heterocycle category (which is a sub-category), and why arsenicin A is in both?

I know you have been doing a lot of category work ands I don't work on category structures so please don't take my inquiry as a criticism so much as it is an indicator of confusion. Thanks. EdChem (talk) 20:11, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

The articles you mentioned probably should be in the category arsenic heterocycles. I didn't intentionally leave them out. I was mostly just getting rid of overly broad categories which I felt made navigating more difficult. OrganoMetallurgy (talk) 20:48, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

PS To answer your question about arsenicin A being in both organoarsenic compound and one of its subcategories, I don't always remove articles from parent categories when I feel it is not obvious that it would be in the subcategory.
