I'm sorry, but how exactly is this a conflict of interest? I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. I have a class titled "Drug Discovery, Commercialization, and Outcomes" for which our project was to create a Wikipedia article for an unfinished tab in the pharmacology section. This way, the work/research we did (focusing on the commercial aspects of the drug, as per the focus of the class) could be benefit anyone on the Internet who wants to know more about it, rather than just our professor being able to read the work we had done. Thanks for your note. It's clear now that there is no conflict of interest (COI). Please note, though, that we are an encyclopedia and try to use a neutral tone. Some of the additions by you and your colleagues sound rather promotional (e.g. the "plan for the utilization of this drug is already in full swing"), and as some pharmaceutical companies keep trying to add promotion to Wikipedia, the COI suspicion was somewhat a natural conclusion.

Looking back at it, I can definitely see how this would come across as a conflict of interest at first glance. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for that in the future. Oh and I took a look at WT:PHARM#Somewhat strange article expansions and can tell you that most of these were likely created by my classmates. Title headings that sound something like, "Commercial Aspects", "Regulatory Information", and "Clinical Trials" were all the main points of our project- those heading titles came straight from our assignment syllabus. Also, not a single one of us in the class actually had a WIkipedia account before this project was assigned, so that also explains the new accounts. If you'd like, I could refer you to my professor Dr. Robert Lodder, or I could myself go through our class page and see which of these pages were edited by my classmates. Kelltastic, Wikipedia generally wants class projects to be coordinated through the Education program. It sounds like your class has a course page, based on what you said, and that's a good thing. If you and your classmates had put a note on the article talkpages, linking to the course page, no one would have raised any questions. Please tell Dr. Lodder about that.
