Hello, Guilherme Burn. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Sexy Hot Award, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Disambiguation link notification for April 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Monica Mattos, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Director (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Kandi Barbour

Hi, I noticed you recently edited Kandi Barbour. Another user deleted the content and made the page a redirect. I undid his edit but he undid my reversion. To avoid an edit war, I have reverted his last edit and nominated the article for deletion. Whilst I have no wish to see the article deleted, this action will stop the other editor changing the page to a redirect again. You may wish to join in the discussion to save the page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kandi Barbour (2nd nomination). (it's odd that to save the page you need to nominate it for deletion but WP has these quirks. Cheers John B123 (talk) 17:39, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Nick Moyes:. OK. I add more covarege. Could you check the article again? See[2] The Company seems to me significant.Guilherme Burn (talk) 19:40, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Phew - that was close! My daughter came out of her room and nearly caught me checking your extra references! For the page to be accepted in mainspace we really must see in-depth coverage, and I'm not getting that. The Forbes/Breslin ref is all about Mills, not the company, and only makes brief mention of it. The Lemco reference allocates just 12 words to Gamma. We know the company exists, but you need to come up with evidence that independent sources have talked about it in detail, and these are still lacking I'm afraid. It's only then that a business will stand out above the millions of others and be deemed notable by Wikipedia's standards. The problem I see you've got is that a company providing IT services to the porn industry is probably unlikely ever to garner great coverage in books or news media. Until it does, it'll simply have join the ranks of millions of other non-notable companies. Anyway, the page has now been patrolled, so is unlikely to be immediately put up for deletion by another editor, though I can't guarantee it. So, what I always do is add articles like this to my monitoring list and come back in a few weeks time to see how they've got on. There's no immediate rush, so hopefully you might be able to dig something stronger out. Sorry to be a killjoy - but the recently revised guidelines at WP:NORG set a high bar for the millions of companies out there to meet. If it can't meet them I'll then feel obligated to submit the article for consideration at WP:AFD. But please don't let this put you off writing about really notable elements of the porn industry.  Kind regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 20:07, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry! :O Thats all right @Nick Moyes:. If it's consensus, I do not see problems with exclusion.Guilherme Burn (talk) 22:14, 20 August 2018 (UTC) [reply]

An article you recently created, Outline of erotica and pornography, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Guilherme Burn. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Catrìona was: This topic is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Unfortunately, I don't think this subject qualifies for an independent Wikipedia article. It would best be covered appropriately on the articles for pornography and erotica to avoid POV.

May I suggest changing the word "notorious" to "notable" in your RfC, if that's what you mean? It would also be useful to do some wikilinking to categories and/or articles and make it clear that you're talking about adult entertainment awards and not just awards given to/by adults. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 16:25, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think the template tree is a good idea. You may need to add an "if" statement to prevent errors. Try changing each line to something like:

A tag has been placed on Category:Sex workers with HIV/AIDS requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Building a group nomination?

Interested in helping build this group nomination? Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal MFD Results/people Legacypac (talk) 21:48, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Legacypac: I believe that all portals based on biographies should be excluded. Per @EggOfReason: "Why have a portal when the biography for the people themselves do the job already? What a gross misuse of the Portal mainspace". This logic also applies to corporations (Ex.: Portal:Google) and object classes(Ex.: Portal:Submarines).
For really important biographies, the focus should be on your class, or your legacy, for example: Portal:Barack Obama -> Portal:United States Presidents, Portal:Jesus -> Portal:Christianity, Portal:Karl Marx -> Portal:Marxism, etc.Guilherme Burn (talk) 15:56, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We are on the same page. Bands is a similar class with a lot of portals. I went ahead with Individual Portals A-C as a larger test nomination. Be sure to commnet there. Hopefully we can ammend the WP:POG Legacypac (talk) 16:02, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Legacypac:I realize that the portal/article pageview relation is smaller in narrow scope theme.
pageviews article portal difference
Michael Jackson 1,446,589 896 0.061938809
Shakira 213,697 213 0.099706498
Barack Obama 671,230 512 0.076277878
Medicine 54,584 3,210 5.880844203
Countries 57,528 321 0.557989153

Is there any tool that lists the links in an article? These portals basically have the same links as the article.Guilherme Burn (talk) 17:32, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That makes you wonder what the point of an Obama portal is. I don't know of a tool like that but that is not my area of expertise. Maybe ask at the help desk? Legacypac (talk) 17:37, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MJL:Give me a few more days, I'll try to expand it. Or we can move it to the Draft space.Guilherme Burn (talk) 11:41, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping. I mean, like, sure. Let's put it in your userspace instead, though? I just think the scope is a little small (for example, it could grow into something like Portal:Women's health.) This is your thing/topic area, so I'll defer to you here. I just don't think this is ready for portalspace and has already been around for months. You have nicer portals than this, so it might just make sense to let this one go rather than spread yourself thin. –MJLTalk 23:40, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MFD Nominations

Are you nominating portals for deletion manually, or using Twinkle? If you are using Twinkle, it isn't notifying the originators. If you are nominating them manually, you aren't notifying the originators. I see that User:KeithTyler, who created Portal:Discrimination, is an active editor and has not been notified. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Technology topics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2017_November_12#Template:Technology. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 06:32, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@LaundryPizza03: I did not understand. It is to exclude the redirect. You moved the tag to the template. The template created is not the based on the deleted.Guilherme Burn (talk) 16:32, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How CSD G4 works

You stated that you do not understand how G4 works, as applied to Template:Technology.

Speedy deletion criterion G4 "applies to sufficiently identical copies, having any title [emphasis mine], of a page deleted via its most recent deletion discussion" that "do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted."

In your case, it was incorrect to move your template and apply G4 to the redirect; it is the template itself (currently at Template:Technology topics) that should be nominated. In any case, G7 (Author requests deletion in good faith) likely applies to the template even if G4 does not. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:44, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But @LaundryPizza03: I don't want to delete the template. I want to exclude only the redirect.Guilherme Burn (talk) 20:39, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect is plausible enough that it doesn't need to be deleted. It's okay. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 00:37, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Guilherme Burn. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Outline of erotica and pornography".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 08:31, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
