Thank you very much for that, and for the thanks! It IS a Visual Editor bug (you have arrived in "interesting" times!) - I have raised it here and they know about it. Just thought you might like to know. Happy editing! Cheers DBaK (talk) 08:04, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing

Final warning. You have been advised several times about your editing, by multiple editors. In case you hadn't noticed the majority of your edits have been reverted, initially as Good faith. However they are now requiring too much input from reviewers to correct them. If you continue to change infoboxes and other details against concensus you may find your editing access blocked. Richard Harvey (talk) 06:52, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How am I supposed to know that it's against consensus? I'm just trying to help Wikipedia become perfect. EverythingGeography (talk) 07:59, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

August 2013

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for disruption and edit-warring, as you did at Borough of Halton. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=All boroughs have this format; not just Halton, I changed it to match other boroughs.}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.   DDStretch  (talk) 10:56, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • You have not done the unblock request properly, so it will not be effective. You need to follow the instructions (as a hint, see that it says "appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{tlx|unblock|2=reason="
  • You will not avoid admins noticing all the previous warnings you have been given in your short time here about edit-warring and being disruptive by just deleting them from visibility on this page. Your page has an edit history, and I note you removed all the warning messages around the same time you were edit-warring on Borough of Halton (which you do know about, given some of the earlier warnings you removed concerning other articles, like issues surrounding England, Wales, etc etc) These will be taken into account, just as they were for your final warning by another editor and they were for my later block.
  • You statement that the other articles all have this is not true, and I have strong reasons to believe you know it is not true given that (a) it is you who have been going around altering them without discussion, and (b) when the issue has been discussed on WP:UKGEO, the consensus was that "Borough of X" is perfectly acceptable. It was also noted that you had been altering the names yourself without prior discussion, and you contributed to the discussion 10 days ago, so you know about it. The consensus is such that "Borough of Halton" is correct here, yet you ignored all that and edit-warred about it anyway. To be honest, I was lenient in just giving you a 24 hour block under the circumstances. I suggest you take the time away from editing to read up on the etiquette and ethos of wikipedia, as given in the welcome message you got just a short time (less than 3 months) ago.
  • I do not suggest you delete this message from me, because it is quite relevant to the issue here. However, I do urge you to request an unblock in the correct manner if you feel you were blocked incorrectly. However, given my comments above, I hope you can agree with that it was the correct thing to do, and that I wish you a good return to editing more appropriately after it ceases to be effective.  DDStretch  (talk) 11:43, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Weirs Lane

Hello EverythingGeography,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Weirs Lane for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 13:41, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't delete the article because it is relevant and is about a geographical place. It contributes to the growing Category:Streets in Oxford, and I joined Wikipedia to add more articles like this. EverythingGeography (talk) 14:09, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Weirs Lane

Hello, EverythingGeography,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Weirs Lane should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Weirs Lane .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, TheLongTone (talk) 13:57, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey EverythingGeography. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:29, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Index of United Kingdom-related articles, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Lincoln and City of Preston (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Opting in to VisualEditor

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:22, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello EverythingGeography. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "SingStar Hottest Hits".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/SingStar Hottest Hits}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 08:01, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Larkrise Primary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significant coverage, fails WP:NSCHOOL.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
