Please forward me the email so I can see what sort of permission they have granted (abeesley at wikimedia.org). You might find the Boilerplate request for permission useful in future for asking for the right sort of permission - basically, people need to give permission to use the image under the GFDL, not simply permission to use it on Wikipedia. Templates for deletion

Anyone can nominate a template for deletion, just be certain to follow the directions at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion (they're near the top of the page, and made into steps for you to follow). Just make sure to mention the other template which supercedes the template you're nominating for deletion (so people will be able to decide if they agree with you that it's a suitable replacement). Could you possibly add a short explanation as to why you've listed Template:UK stations for deletion to its talk page? I presume it's because there are already more suitable templates out there, but you should add an explanation. One or two sentences should do the trick. --RFBailey 18:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Your Signature

Hello Danny, I see that you have made your signature read "Danny". I am writing to ask you to consider changing it. (DannyM perhaps?) The reason is that there is a long-time user named User:Danny. The "other Danny" is an administrator and an employee of the foundation. More than that, he is Jimbo's "right hand man". I would hate to see confusion arise over your signature. Reminder...

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 21:17, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

In a nutshell, as the above box describes, subst:-ing serves two purposes:
  1. Reduces server load. If you leave a template lying around on a talk page, every time the talk page is loaded, the template will have to be accessed from the main server, slowing down both the server and you, as the page has to go and "get" the template from the server.
  2. Accidental blanking of the template. When the server looks up a template (say {{test}}), it will go to that template page, and write to the talk page what the template says. If the template is vandalised or blanked, any time between when the vandalism occurs and when the vandalism is reverted, the user will see, in an un-subst:ed version, the vandalised template. So, instead of seeing:
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. ,
a user may see:
Hey, cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 Look at me! I'm on Wikipedia (an example of vandalism)

Warrington Link Line

I don't have any information on this line; User:Robdurbar added it to the template. Looking at the lines which run through the Warrington stations, I guess it is referring to either the Warrington spur of the Liverpool-Manchester Line or is an alternative name for the Chester-Manchester Line. Lord, I've forgotten about that! I think it was a Newbie blunder from about 11 months ago that I should apologise about... I created it as a name for the Warrington spur of the Liverpool-Manchester Line, as noted above, but it is an entirely invented name which I assure you I would have changed if I'd remembered! --Robdurbar 08:15, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Normally I would figure it out, but since the World Cup is such a busy page I recommend you ask on the talk page - someone will see your question and do it for you. Re:Sir John Deanes

DannyM, Thank you for your insightful comments concerning the ‘Sir John Deane’s’ article. The comment, which stated that Sir John Deane’s was the ‘only’ college in Cheshire was taken from the Ofsted official report of 2003/2004. This comment can be interpreted in various different ways. Having lived in Warrington myself for a time I am in no doubt that Priestley College is within the boundaries of Cheshire geographically. However Priestley College is controlled by Warrington’s local authority, which is separate from Cheshire’s. I can only assume, as Ofsted do not make this entirely clear, that the report refers to the localities, which run the colleges. In which case the only sixth form college, which Cheshire runs, is Sir John Deane’s. Also Sir John Deane's age range is restricted to sixth form years only 16-19. Whilst Priestley's age range, according to Ofsted, has no such restriction. Sir John Deane's College in the Cheshire area is unique to such a restriction. Therefore the college could be classed as the only official sixth form college in Cheshire geographically. BDBJ 16.04, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes I agree with you on wikipedia articles containing too much POV.It really bothers me.And what's more is people who have control over the site decide who to block based on biased reasons.When I once adeed to a dicussion page,my pargraph was vandalized,so I did the same to the person who vandalized my articles and all that happned was I got threatened of being blocked. Its a real problem.

But I like your page.And thats a cool picture of you in Germany.
