Sorry for using this again, but am stuck, don't quite understand what is meant by FairUse etc. This is mainly down to the fact those images are off the home sites. Which afaik covers fair use. Haven't a clue what my msgs mean (ref: Archive 3). Please help :) DannyM 16:32, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, every fair use image in Wikipedia requires a rationale (reasons why we need to use it in Wikipedia, if it is legal etc). Fair use images without a rationale will be deleted. Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline explains what sort of stuff needs to go into a rationale.--Commander Keane 16:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I go about deleting images? DannyM 17:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Img logof1.gif

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Img logof1.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Logo vetimarche.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Logo vetimarche.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:27, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WWB.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:WWB.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:31, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject U2 November Newsletter

Hi Danny, I've been working on an easier to read version of the route table, which can be found at User:Divy/Sandbox - I'd welcome any feedback. It's not as detailed as the existing one, but I think it's more legible. I've also removed the details about low-floor buses, as none of the services are advertised as such these days. This is due to new legislation which means that if a service is advertised as being accessible, it must be so else compensation applies. I was hoping I could slip it into place at the same time as the February 11 2008 service changes. Divy (talk) 11:32, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've put a dash in instead of the text "No service", because I think if we were to put the text in then visually it would look as important as the actual frequency, even though there isn't one by definition. I've also tentatively added the 17, though we don't know its exact route or map colour yet! Divy (talk) 15:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo ecomarche.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Logo ecomarche.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:34, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Crewe services

Hey there Danny (if you preferred to be called that)

I noticed on your edits on Crewe railway station, particularly the services. As a note I think it could be expanded but I just wanted to see if you agree:

  • For Manchester Piccadilly services, I believe Virgin Trains operate a few services during the evenings and very early morning.
    • One could also note that going via Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester is quicker by about an hour as opposed to travelling via Crewe. Plus apparently, according to my Uni mate who comes from Hastings, the service was rubbish via Crewe.
  • Virgin also operate services to Chester because of their North Wales bound services, or do you just mean services that terminate at Chester? Btw, if it's worth anything, that service has no stops between it's start and it's terminus. ;-)
  • One could also note a Virgin Trains service that goes via Crewe and Stoke very late at night.
  • Speaking of London Midland, I think there are a few services that travel to Walsall although I think there are more that go beyond New Street. Also, there is a Limited service to that terminates at Preston.
  • I think you've forgotten the Shrewsbury local services as well. ;-)

Anyway, those are my suggestions coming from someone who knows the station very well. Drop me a line when you can. --Phill talk Edits Review this GA review! 20:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to South TransPennine, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' I'm not aware of any consensus to add timings to such infoboxes, due to their WP:Ephemeral nature. Cheers. DrFrench (talk) 19:06, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the recent addition of the route map, but you've missed HELSBY off, this is probably the most used station other than Warrington/EPort!! Also, if you think this is appropiate, could you add this map to Ince and Elton. thanks. stephent90. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.134.84 (talk) 15:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to SJA Article

Hey, just wanted to clarify my last edit to the SJA article: I wasn't reverting your edit specifically, just removing the entire uniform list, as it really adds little to the article. Judging by your edit, profile picture and student userbox, I'm guessing you're a fellow LINKS member, so hi :). TalkIslander 20:50, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article London Buses route 66 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable bus-route. No evidence of notability per WP:GNG, and not even an assertion of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hey, I was flipping through some old images and found this one. It's a nice picture of some really lovely architechture, and I'd love to include it in an article - only problem is, I can't find any reference to a "Placa Espanol" on Wikipedia (or on Google). Where is this plaza located, so I can put the picture in the appropriate article? ♠PMC(talk) 20:52, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you! I'm going to put a link to it in the article =) ♠PMC(talk) 20:37, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I found one more orphaned picture of yours, where is this from? Like the other one, I would love to put it in an article =) ♠PMC(talk) 02:06, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Logo ecomarche.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Logo ecomarche.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:09, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, it was my fault. The bot does not recognize the <noinclude> TAG and this message has been sent to all the inactive users of Wikiproject U2. Remove this section whenever you want. Sorry once again. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 13:52, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Djm1279onSJADuty.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused low-res photo of non-notable subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
