Philip Mackie (born 1 August 1965), is a British news correspondent working for the BBC since 1993.[1] He has also played cricket for the Old Vigornians C.C. for over 40 years.[1][2]
Career
Mackie attended the King's School, Worcester, where he joined the local cricket club, the Old Vigornians C.C..[2] After leaving King's, he studied history at the University of Kent.[2] After graduating, he took up a job at BBC Radio Gloucestershire in 1993. He became a network TV, radio, and online reporter in 1998[1] and has remained ever since.
Personal life
He has 3 daughters with his wife, Cath, who was also a reporter for the BBC.[3] In January 2021, Mackie tested positive for COVID-19, he was taken to the hospital 5 days later for oxygen.[4]
