This edit notice is requested due to the use of {{TM}} at Help:Template#Basic template usage examples as an example of a "very simple" template, including a full parsing of its code outside the <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags. The previous example was refactored and expanded significantly in February 2021, and the help page was not updated for almost a year after, due to lack of knowledge about changes in the example template. As the new example of a very simple template, this template is not immune from the same thing happening, and I'd like to help prevent confusion, frustration, and discouragement that might arise from new editors trying to follow an example, only to find it has been changed out from under them, depriving them of understanding of one of the most powerful tools at Wikipedia.
