Walsh McDermott
- ... that Walsh McDermott won a Lasker Award for his research on isoniazid, an antibiotic he had taken to treat his own case of tuberculosis? Source: "In 1950, after partial pulmonary resection and isoniazid treatment, (his) disease was brought under control ... Later he was offered the opportunity to test the efficacy of the newly discovered isoniazid, in tuberculosis. For that work he shared the Lasker award with three colleagues"

Long enough, nominated in time, well referenced to reliable sources. Appears neutral and stable. Hook is concise and interesting; the hook fact is supported by a reliable source. Earwig finds no serious copyright problem from the sources (I was unable to run the tool against the internet, owing to the daily limit). There is an identical sentence ("McDermott was born on October 24, 1909 in New Haven, Connecticut.") but it's always hard to rephrase this kind of material. QPQ completed.
