Imperial Gift

Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 aircraft formed part of the gift

  • ... that at the end of World War I the British Cabinet decided to give Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and India each 100 aircraft as an Imperial Gift?

  • Date and length OK. Hook is technically correct but would be more accurate if it said at least 100 aircraft as India got 100 while Canada got 110. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 20:27, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Comment from primary article author - The British Government offered 100 to each country - the article explains that the extras were added as replacements for aircraft donated to Britain by the countries during the war. Canada gave Britain 10 aircraft during the war, India didn't give any. These extras were paid for by various sponsors - not given by the British government.
