References

The references in this article need to be completed. I have done two of them as I needed them for another article too.

With so many references, I think you will find the article text easier to edit if you use named references and move the citations themselves to the references section. See Help:Footnotes#List-defined_references and, for an example, Disability in the arts. Mirokado (talk) 01:43, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really necessary for statements to have up to six references? One is usually adequate. Only for contentious claims would two or maybe three be justified - but five or six is way over the top! Roger (talk) 12:08, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If the references each illustrate something different it would be a shame to lose them. In that case it would be better to add a sentence or two for each to the article so they can be separate inline references. Christopher, you will know which are duplicates and which would support new content for the article. It would be better if you can sort this out rather than leaving it to someone else. It will be easier to write flowing text once the refs are separated as I have already suggested. — Mirokado (talk) 19:31, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have now moved the ref definitions into the reflist myself, as I have written a "little script" to do that. It should now be easier to see the flow of the article text while improving it. Next steps are:

  • Add interesting text to the article for each reference
  • Decide if any refs are in fact redundant and remove them
  • Complete the references as with two already done
  • Perhaps change the name= parameter for each ref to something more meaningful (easier once the refs have been completed) — Mirokado (talk) 13:44, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
