Article is contradictory LLI/LLD does not equal LLAA

The lead states clearly

"Unequal leg length (also termed leg length inequality, LLI or leg length discrepancy, LLD) is where the legs are different"

But then we read under 'Classification'

"There are two main types of leg length inequalities....The other, more common, type is seen when the legs themselves are the same length....This is called leg length alignment asymmetry (LLAA) and can be seen while lying down.[1]Unequal leg length (also termed leg length inequality, LLI or leg length discrepancy, LLD) is where the legs are different Unequal leg length (also termed leg length inequality, LLI or leg length discrepancy, LLD) is where the legs are different lengths."

By the definition given in the lead LLAA cannot be a type of LLI/LLD

As the source for the definition of the second type is a chiropractic/osteopathic journal I suspect what this means is that Chriopractors and Osteopaths may say that others practitioners diagnose LLI/LLD when they should diagnose LLAA. Unfortunately I do not have ready access to sources so would be hesitant to amend this.

I have now amended the opening so that it agrees with the body of the article. However the article as it stands may now reflect the views of chiropractors and osteopaths regarding this term but may not reflect the views of other medical professionals who use the term. I personally happen to agree with the definition as given but think that to be truly useful it should reflect all views. 9and50swans (talk) 23:30, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
