Tumours in other areas of the body

According to a recent Japanese TV programme there is a hospital in Tokyo that is using TACE on throat, oesphageal, and metastased bone cancers. The doctor is good at getting to any part of the body via the arteries and injecting chemotherapeutic drugs near to cancer to dry and kill it and the blood vessels supplying it. From the examples shown the technique seemed to be semi-palliative but combined well with surgery. According to an internet search there is also a professor in Frankfurt.--Timtak 05:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Implication not clear

Quoting from the beginning of the article -

"In the west, the most common causes are alcoholic and viral (hepatitis C) hepatitis. The standard treatment for HCC is surgical resection, which has a 60% 5-year survival. In cases of unresectable tumor or marginal liver function, the current treatment of choice is orthotopic liver transplantation. Due to the scarcity of organ donors and to the multiple comorbidities these patients have, many die while on the transplant list.

TACE also has a role in delaying the progression of HCC until a donor liver becomes available."

- From the paragraph 1 it is implied that TACE is a better option than the ones mentioned. The implication is not clear... and without stating it clearly the article moves on to explain what TACE _also_ playes a role for. Is TACE actually better option than the ones described in the first paragraph mentioned above? If so the following line inserted might clear the confusion - "TACE does not have the above mentioned complications". I am not inserting it since I am not knowledgeable in the subject. I will do research online, but it will be good if someone knowledgeable qualifies mode. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hirak 99 (talkcontribs) 19:01, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
