Wrong Photo

The photo captioned "Miami skyline as used for Season 1 Title Card" shows the American Airlines Arena, which broke ground in 1998 and opened in 1999. If the show ran from 1985-1992, how is this correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.130.226 (talk) 21:02, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Split/Merger proposal for "List of The Golden Girls characters"

Robert Picardo

The article has an extensive list of celebrities who appeared on the show, but Robert Picardo is not listed. See his IMDB page here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000585/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.20.33 (talk) 08:53, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bea Author/Betty White Animosity

I wonder if this page shouldn't mention the animosity between Bea Arthur and Betty White which has been well publicized? StoneProphet11 (talk) 21:26, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My thought is, this relationship is at least mentioned on the articles about the show characters I saw. This article as it looks now, seems to follow the structure used for similar TV shows with just a brief discussion of the overall show as the synopsis, with more details on the characters on their pages. Just my two cents Countryjudge (talk) 18:26, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Added information

I added two things to the article: →Added under format section that Bea Arthur actually hated cheesecake. →Added under casting section that Estelle Getty's suffered from stage fright. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sschlo1 (talkcontribs) 20:26, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Critique

Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position? I believe the article is neutral in terms of a fairly detailed summary of the show . There is a focus on characters and not plot lines of the show.

Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented? If one wanted to they could perhaps add more detail about the show by season instead of looking at such as a series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaish200 (talkcontribs) 19:17, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Names of Dorothy/Sophia and Blanche's relatives confirmed?

Can anyone identify the episodes in which the alleged names of Dorothy and Blanche's relatives are mentioned? Most notably, I've seen here and elsewhere Dorothy's sister referred to variously as Mayston or Harker and Blanche's sister Virginia given the married name of Wylde, and Sophia given the maiden name of Grisanti with no attribution to any episode of the show or "Word of God" confirmation from anyone connected with the show itself. If these names can't be substantiated by the show, they should probably be deleted. 2602:306:CE2D:9210:9CF9:B44C:F02A:B4EF (talk) 22:03, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen every episode Lord knows how many times. And I don't recall any of those surnames. Could be that it didn't penetrate the same way the jokes do that I recall so well. But I say stick to first names unless they can be 100% verified, and when I say that, I am not referring to IMDb cast lists.--Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 00:25, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like they're just plain made up; these alleged names of Petrillo/Zbornak/Hollingsworth/Deveraux relatives litter this page and the character pages as well to a ridiculous degree. In the absence of any confirmation, they should go. 2602:306:CE2D:9210:9CF9:B44C:F02A:B4EF (talk) 18:36, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Let's be honest: The only surnames we ever really hear throughout the show are the many Nylund/Lindstrom relatives and neighbors, haha. Gerkleknerbaagen(hoffstefenfrau) and so forth....As long as their first names are grouped together under the right Golden Girl, that'll suffice.--Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 22:08, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have no recollection of these names, including Grisanti, which an IP editor keeps restoring lately. Some of the television reruns are edited down to fit in more commercials, so perhaps it's possible that the maiden name Grisanti was mentioned in an episode before being cut out, but I'm doubtful as the name doesn't seem to be in any reliable sources. Anyone know for sure?  AJFU  (talk) 16:14, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thoughts on creating a separate page for a full list of main, recurring, and guest characters?

I think there are enough family members and friends of the main 4 that warrant there being a separate page. Instead of mentioning just those who are recurring, we can combine all the Petrillo/Zbornak relatives, the Hollingsworth/Deveraux family members, and the Nylund/Lindstrom people into their own respective sections. This way, we can briefly discuss the characterizations of characters such as Dorothy's brother Phil, whom we never see (like Maris on Frasier, Stan on Will & Grace, et al.) but is a character in his own right. This can also allow us to describe characters like Rose's mother, who made a single appearance; Blanche's father, who made 2 appearances featuring 2 different actors; and so forth. And then of course, exes like Stan, the most notable character outside of the core 4. Thoughts?--Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:20, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Stan's Occupation

Hello. I'd like to propose adding Stanley's time as a novelty salesman as well as his success with his Zborny invention to his section under recurring character.

Orphaned references in The Golden Girls

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Golden Girls's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Should a new section about the show's continuity issues be added?

Hi all, I feel that the show had many continuity issues, as many comedies do, and want to add a section that would highlight the various continuity issues throughout the show's seven season run.Mr.MikeAnderson889 (talk) 16:46, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have sufficient sources for such a section? Dimadick (talk) 09:04, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lindström

If Rose is a Norwegian-American, wouldn’t her name be written as Lindstrøm not Lindström? 2A01:799:1660:D300:A143:B76C:5E05:E227 (talk) 23:43, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
