Downdraughts and windshear
I have modified this article a little to lessen the force of the blame on aircrew error. There is strong evidence that they may have encountered strong wind-shear and/or downdraughts during the approach. The caravelle with its low power loading would be hard pushed to fly its way out of even a moderate mini-burst down-draught, and there was little understanding of them in those days. Personally I think the crew were very hard done by, and probably didnot deserve such harsh criticism.Petebutt (talk) 18:40, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
