Plan for editing

XianSH (talk) 14:14, 14 November 2022 (UTC) I am planning on making some changes in the coming weeks. I plan to rewrite the lead section to make it a summary of the subsections instead of an information section. I plan to also add subsections of “History” and "Terminology" to enrich the information available on this page. Surgical instruments have an abundant and amazing evolution of development, which I think is important for fully understanding and appreciating their importance. More comprehensive and up-to-date information on dynamic surgical instrument development helps to meet Wikipedia's expectation of neutral and balanced content. I will also reorganize and edit the “instrument classification” subsection using a table. By doing so, I hope to make the section more organized and informative with more newly invented instruments, examples of instruments, and images. The references list is short, so I will also incorporate more reliable sources to increase the validity of the article.[reply]

Sterile containers/sterile field

Do sterilisable containers such as sponge bowls fall under this definition? They don't seem to fall into any of the categories listed. They are important tools for maintaining sterility of other surgical instruments or holding tissues for eg. Transplantation. They appear in the list of medical instruments but don't fall into any of the categories in that article either. How about tools for maintaining the sterile field, such as drapes? Surgical clamps often double as clips for attaching drapes to stands to keep them off the patient's face. 2001:8003:20BE:C301:491E:118B:CAA5:3322 (talk) 00:11, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
