Most sources call this "Superficial spreading melanoma" instead of "Superficial spreading malignant melanoma". Any objections if I move the page? --Arcadian 14:48, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
I don't mind. I agree that "malignant melanoma" is a tautology, but its use is commonplace. --Hovea 24 April 2006
- I don't mean to be that guy but malignant and melanoma have two separate meanings. A melanoma may be malignant or it may not be malignant. Melanoma refers to the mutated melanocyte and has no bearing on malignancy. Lets not pander to ignorance simply because 'most sources' have.
Could someone upload 2 or 3 photographs for this page and each of the other melanoma pages?
is this statement correct:"A prolonged radial growth phase, where the lesion remains thin, may eventually be followed by a vertical growth phase"
Because it suggest a SSM will not always grow vertical it you let it keep on growing on, but that the dangerous radical growing fase is merely a thing that eventually can/may happen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TrillianMcMillan (talk • contribs) 13:59, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
