Perhaps worth noting that these bacteria use H2 (and some other e-) donors, send it through electron carries embeded in the membrane to generate H+ gradient, quite similar as in respiration, except the terminal acceptor isn't O2 (as well as different donor) but rather SO42-. What do ya think, worth modifying? --romunov 18:17, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Sulfate-reducing microrganisms
My suggestion is to rename this entry to "sulfate-reducing microorganisms", since it deals with both sulfate-reducing bacteria and sulfate-reducing archaea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waldow (talk • contribs) 02:05, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
