Image copyright problem with Image:Perfect 10 Marisa Miller.jpg

The image Image:Perfect 10 Marisa Miller.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Article title

I believe this article should be "Sofcore Pornography," not "Softcore." The word "softcore" is an adjective, not a noun. Also, the article is clearly twinned with "Hardcore Pornography," and its title should reflect that symmetry. I would therefore propose that "Softcore" redirect to "Softcore Pornography," rather than vice versa.

  • I agree, but suggest a more accurate title would be US softcore pornography, as it ignores every other country. Ghostwords (talk)
    • What are the differences between how the "softcore vs. hardcore" difference is seen in the US versus other countries? Jimw338 (talk) 07:08, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Professionalism

There needs to be some degree of maturity in the description of genres. It's just kind of thrown together and is not very professional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.169.31.166 (talk) 06:07, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This article is terribly written. It really needs cleaning up, maybe even a deletion until someone can actually do a decent job. Sandwiches99 (talk) 07:37, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto. This one and Pornography in Japan are probably the two biggest messes on my watchlist... Though rather than deletion, I think someone needs to rewrite both from scratch, probably using a good source on the subjects as a template for article format. Problem is, they're both such big topics, it'll take a lot of time and work. Dekkappai (talk) 14:15, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Softcore pornography = Oxymoron (?)

I always thought SC is eroticism and not porn. Maybe more sources are needed for this article? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 07:25, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's a well-established term. Ghostwords (talk)
    • It's well-established, but for late-night Cinemax offerings, not for the subject of much of the article. By definition, pornography must depict sexual behavior. Simply laying around nude and looking pretty doesn't cut it. —RVJ (talk) 16:36, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yeah, Im wondering myself if there is some appropriate references to the fact that a lot of people don't see much of this as porn, but just erotic photography (ie. Suicide Girls), or not even erotic at all (ie. nudist/naturist photography). Being naked and it being photographed/filmed does not equal porn. Softcore porn is simulated sex.JanderVK (talk) 14:34, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
        • And what exactly do you mean by simulated sex? I assume you don't mean virtual reality sex. ZFT (talk) 05:07, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quit removing material because you feel like it

Removing sourced material requires a discussion, just like adding material does. Please state your reasons for removing the content. Hearfourmewesique (talk) 16:32, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A little context might be helpful for the other editors - I removed an image which showed the filming of a hardcore porn film, a joke (yes, an actual joke), and made some minor copyedits. Hearfourmewesique reverted all of them. The image was not appropriate to illustrate the concept of "softcore pornography". I don't think the article benefits from an image, but if it is going to have one, it should illustrate the subject (i.e., deliberate softcore porn, not an image of the filming of hardcore porn that doesn't show anything explicit). The joke is beyond trivial and has no place here. I'll be reverting now - feel free to throw a hissy fit. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 17:41, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, hello and welcome to another edition of "I'm a little bitch who likes to hide behind a computer and taunt editors". You look so cute, all safe behind that glass enclosure, in your mom's basement. This isn't that important to me, so I guess you win this round. Feel free to treat yourself to a warm glass of milk. Hearfourmewesique (talk) 03:35, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
For the comfort of those who find this seemingly unchallenged brass discouraging, know that Hear4's edit-warring blocks began early in their second year of editing, had escalated to a 3-weeks-block a few months before this attempt at intimidation, and reached indefinite block just over a year ago. (IMO the debacle of a now long-past 11-day hiatus makes further rehab efforts far-fetched.)

While i agree that the removed image shouldnt be here, as it doesnt show its relation to SCP, the truth is that a LOT of the SCP on cable/hotel channels was originally hardcore, with the super naughty bits edited out, just like r movies are edited for broadcast tv release. to address an above comment, not all scp is simulated. I wonder though why noone has been able to add a good scp image here. really any image which shows everything but the genital regions would be fine, and is also of a couple making out. i think what this article needs is an image which "screams" softcore porn. not "cheesecake", not "hcp trimmed to be scp". i will make a lame effort to find one at commons. wish me luck.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 01:38, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is the difference between softcore porn movies and erotic movies?

Hi, I know there are 2 popular types of question: what's the difference between "hardcore and softcore porn movies"/ "erotic movies and porn movies" in link1, link2. But I found in those 2 links, softcore porn movies and erotic movies are described as the same. So, I wonder if there is any difference between softcore porn movies and erotic movies, can anyone tell me please? BabesLooker (talk) 06:30, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
