Symptoms

The following sentence is ambiguous: "The symptoms are insensitivity to heat and/or cold, tingling, numbness, muscle weakness, cramps, pain, and other symptoms." It isn't clear whether "insensitivity" refers only to "heat and/or cold" or to the entire list. D021317c 03:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, this is not ambigous. A list of symptoms ... first on the list is "insensitivity to heat and/or cold" followed by symptoms tingling, numbness, muscle weakness, ... Would you mistakenly interpret as ... insensitivity to tingling, numbness, muscle weakness... given the title of small fiber peripheral neuropathy.

Bigger issue is the entire wiki article is woefully inadequate... I don't understand posting half baked entries like this. Do do justice this should be at least 5 paragraphs..... I will not waste my time on this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.12.63.147 (talk) 15:54, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. You cannot be "Insensitive..... to tingling, numbness, muscle weakness, cramps, pain, and other symptoms". Symptoms are a statement of what you feel, if you could be insensitive, then you would not feel them, so you would not have symptoms". So it follows, that to talk about being insensitive to a symptom is devoid of meaning. I suggest that we all take a walk away from this nonsense. Historygypsy (talk) 01:32, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Passage awaiting citation

In section "Treatment" there is the following passage awaiting citation since December of last year, I'm reluctant to remove it but should it remain without citations?

There is a treatment called Transvascular Autonomic Modulation (TVAM) that restores autonomic function to patients with fibromyalgia[citation needed]. The procedural goal of TVAM is to stimulate the autonomic nerve fibers surrounding the central veins.[citation needed] This stimulation leads to a reset in the hypothalamus.[citation needed] The result is improved autonomic ‘tone’.[citation needed] By restoring the body’s ability to internally regulate, the above symptoms can be reduced or eliminated, vastly improving the quality of life for many patients.[citation needed]
