James Purefoy- main/recurring

There seems to be an edit war going on regarding James Purefoy's status within the cast. I would like to put forward an opinion. Regardless of whether Purefoy was listed beside the main cast in an ending credits, his role was announced as recurring, and his role was recurring- he only appeared in a couple of episodes, either in flashback or on a computer screen within a show. His onscreen time can't have totalled more than 5-10 minutes. The article also literally says he was cast in a recurring role. I don't see how Purefoy is considered main cast when others, such as DeObia Oparei who plays Eric's father, are regarded as recurring, when they have more screentime than Purefoy. Thus, I vote that Purefoy is listed as a recurring cast member, not as a main cast member. Mesmeilleurs (talk) 01:39, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Per MOS:TV, "The cast listing should be ordered according to the original broadcast credits, with new cast members being added to the end of the list...Please keep in mind that though "main" cast members are determined by the series producers (not by popularity, screen time, or episode count) and generally have a set order in the credits..." His status as a main cast member is not an opinion nor do the articles announcing his casting contradict his status. It is a fact supported by a primary source (being the series itself). Netflix/the producers decided to credit Purefoy among the main cast in the episodes in which he appears and , per the guidelines found in the Manual of Style: Television, that is why he is listed where he is. Other cast members who may have had more screen time but are listed as recurring are listed as such because of how the show credits them. The were not credited among the main cast in the show's end credits. Hope this clarifies the reasoning behind the placement. – BoogerD (talk) 01:48, 19 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Age of actors

Shouldn't it be mentioned that all the actors are indeed 10 years older than the "teenagers" they portray? I liked the show quite a lot, but I found this to be very distracting. --Anvilaquarius (talk) 10:47, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, with a show using several scenes of nudity and topics that would be uncomfortable for teenagers to act as I think it is extremely useful to mention that age difference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willstraub (talkcontribs) 00:50, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn´t call it "nudity", to be honest. I would call it what it is: fan service. --DerFigaro (talk) 18:26, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Uncovered breasts are generally classified as nudity. I agree the word may seem overwrought to youngsters reared on youporn. Any boobage on TV was a major thing before the internet, whereas nowadays it seems silly to even make a point of it. Still, it has always been called nudity and I do not see why we should abandon it. In any events, actors playing teenagers are generally 5 to 15 years older than the characters they portray. This is true for virtually all shows, whether or not they contain nudity. 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:D816:867D:55D1:6622 (talk) 08:05, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tanya, Ruthie's overbearing girlfriend

Tanya can hardly be described as overbearing. In fact she is sweet and caring and brings great enthusiasm to the relationship, which Ruthie does not reciprocate. 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:D816:867D:55D1:6622 (talk) 07:45, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

the show features very few cars from after the 1990s, with a majority of cars featured ranging from the 1970s to 1990s

This is not some sort of mysterious anachronism; the show is set in Wales. Less well-off areas in Britain generally get by on 80s cast-offs, this is perfectly normal. (It is interesting that someone thought this should be remarked upon; the UK maintains an image abroad of a tax paradise where people drive Jaguars and live in stately homes - well, some do.) 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:D816:867D:55D1:6622 (talk) 07:59, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Season 3 cast

Have Chinenye Ezeudu and George Robinson been promoted to main for season 3? Given they appear on the official posters. – Starklinson 20:47 17 September 2021 UTC Starklinson (talk) 21:47, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What is the model of Mooredale school?

I'm wondering if anyone knows enough about British education models to clarify if the school follows any real models for schools? The show mentions 'investors' and a 'school board.'

Any insights? LeeTramp 03:49, 12 October 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amosslee (talkcontribs)

It follows the Parallel universes in fiction model, not a British education model. Bosley John Bosley (talk) 12:25, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I thought that might be the case. LeeTramp 04:05, 16 October 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amosslee (talkcontribs)

I get it can be inappropriate to link to smutty articles etc, but such "teenage" curiosities etc are the very premise of the show. We should expectlinks to such items that might otherwise be considered overlinks such as

@Bosley John Bosley: WP:OVERLINK states that "everyday words understood by most readers" should not linked. Do you think that people reading this article need a wikilink to understand the terms you have linked? Do the links provide some context that is otherwise unclear from the article? — Manticore 11:26, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the context of, say John Wick; if he kisses his puppy that is the "everyday word" usage that would be an overlink. In the context of an educational sex-comedy, a kiss is Base 1, a specific sexual depiction that should have a link. Furthermore, to this point in series and article, Adam has been portrayed as heterosexual so the link provide the context that is a romantic kiss. Ignoring help

This sentence does not make sense to me: Adam confronts Eric about ignoring help.

I think it should be: Adam confronts Eric about ignoring helphim.

Can someone confirm this, please? 4nn1l2 (talk) 21:23, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
