Synonymous to Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge?

I've struck upon a mentioning of a compound called Salvianolic acid. At this moment (as I'm writing) there is no Wikipedia article about this acid. On one webpage there is information that this acid is isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge. If this is the same plant, maybe the Salvianolic acid should be mentioned in this article (the compound seems to act as antioxidant). Best regards, CopperKettle 08:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citations and factual accuracy

This article contains no citations to support the extraordinary claims of medical efficacy of this herb. In the absence of support from articles published in mainstream, peer reviewed, scientific and medical journals, these claims are highly dubious. If someone can provide reliable sources supporting them, please do so. I will allow a short time for such citations to be added and will make some effort to find them myself. However, given the extraordinary nature of the claims unless solid support can be found in a fairly short timespan I will remove all unsourced and dubious medical claims from this article.
