Is the diagnosis of kuru authentic? Other biographies mention TB and 'lateral sclerosis' which are not necessarily contradictory. Do we have a death certificate that would substantiate the diagnosis? Txcmy (talk) 16:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be more accurate to change "neurobiologist" to "neuropsychologist". Sperry was a trained psychologist, but more importantly, neurobiology is usually associated with neuroscience at a more molecular level (for example function of cell membranes). The study of cerebral hemispheres is usually within the domain of neuropsychology. See for instance Bear & Paradiso's textbook "Neuroscience" (2002).


In Roger Sperry's page, his findings about the growth of neural circuits should be briefly mentioned. In this sense, he was both a neuropsychologist and a neurobiologist. (see for instance "SPERRY RW, The growth of nerve circuits. Sci Am. 1959;201:68-75").
