Lost and forgotten article?

I note that rete ridges is a redirect to epidermis (skin). Also we have the page dermal papillae, which unless I am confused, appears to be synonymous with rete pegs/processes/ridges, unless you could say that dermal papillae only occur in skin, and rete pegs can be either skin/mucosa. UPDATE: apologies if I was misleading anyone (or perhaps no-one read this), but rete pegs are the epithelial projections, and dermal papillae are connective tissue projections. They are not synonymous. Lesion (talk) 16:32, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rete (or epidermal) ridges is the proper terminology for the extensions of the epidermis into the dermis, as they are interconnected and do not form pegs. Dermal papilla are the dermal pillars that lie between the ridges. See http://archderm.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=528161 and the standard histology text of Ross.
