- Content: Amend 'history' to: 'Resuscitation Council UK was formed in August 1981 by a group of medical professionals with a shared interest in resuscitation, and has an objective of educating both the general public and health care professionals in the most effective resuscitation methods. Their Guidelines [1] and Quality Standards [2] provide guidance for healthcare professionals across Adult, Paediatric and Newborn resuscitation. They have an established set of professional training courses that run across the UK, training healthcare professionals in Immediate and Advanced Life Support [3].
In more recent years, Resuscitation Council UK has also been involved in various campaigns to support the public in learning CPR. They lead the UK's effort on Restart a Heart Day, working with St John Ambulance, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, British Heart Foundation and British Red Cross, as well as the UK's ambulance services, to raise awareness of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and encourage people to learn CPR skills. - Factual improvement: Name/style change in 2019 as part of organisational rebrand
- Factual: our objective and history is currently incorrect.
- Scientific importance: RCUK's guidelines and Quality Standards set the framework for resuscitation-based clinical practice in the UK, and are important educational tools for healthcare professionals in the UK.
- Assurance: To ensure there is public knowledge of who is responsible for key areas of work such as the ReSPECT process, in order to ensure healthcare professionals using the process can access support from the right place.
- Focus: current page focusses on clinical work but does not mention other side of organisational operation
