Suggested amendments

The numbers in this article don't add up:

1. The renal blood flow is given as 1500 ml/min, and the hematocrit as 40% - that means 60% of the blood is plasma, so the plasma flow should be 900 ml/min, not 600.

2. The glomerular filtration rate is given as 120 ml/min, and the inulin clearance - which is commonly used to measure the GFR is 150 ml/min.

3. The p-aminohippurate clearance is given as 420 ml/min, and the extraction ratio as 90%. 420/0.9 is 467, but the effective plasma flow is given as 540 ml.

Now all the numbers given might be within the physiological variation, but they are inconsistent, which is confusing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M palmer45 (talkcontribs) 17:43, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article is titled Renal Blood Flow but then it only discusses how to calculate the renal plasma flow. Although they are similar values, they are by no means the exact same. This article needs to expand by adding calculations on how to calculate RBF from RPF or eRPF. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.165.127.64 (talk) 14:52, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not provide an indication of what the variables in the equation represent. Makes it difficult for the transfer of knowledge if too much pre-requisite knowledge is required. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.138.176.16 (talk) 00:07, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What symbol should Wikipedia use for the litre?
