Peer review comments

I'm going to try to avoid duplicating anything in the peer review already posted here. My appreciation and suggestions on your prior draft are here.

There's a well-written segment on the rates of infection, hospitalization, and death currently under "Health Risks"; this should be included as a second lead paragraph. The infection rates should also be updated using one of these sources:

Somewhere, in the article, perhaps under a first section just called "racial disparities" there should be a review of the literature trying to explain disparities, as well as any variations over time in the disparities. Recommended sources there:

Be sure to cite both their data on unequal numbers and their conclusions regarding causality.

The vaccine data should be dated using "As of April X, 2021" since the figure is likely to shift over time. It would be interesting to cite various experts regarding their explanation of this racial disparity.

Once you have clarity in each section, find a way to make sure the [WP:LEAD|lead section] accurately summarizes each body section.--Carwil (talk) 02:44, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Edits to this page

Hi all and thanks to the author(s) for diligently working to represent the disproportionate racial impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I intend to make edits to this article, mainly in the form of changing how content is organized and presented, and adding a number of sources that have been published since May 2021. Your comments on my defense of revisions and outline would be much appreciated. Thanks so much! Rshrid (talk) 01:08, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings all! I wanted to share that additional context and a general outline can be found in my sandbox. I plan to focus my discussions heavily on the Social Determinants of Health domains, using that conceptual framework to underscore my proposed edits. Any thoughts, comments, and suggestions on the updated outline would be much appreciated. Rshrid (talk) 03:48, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all! I'm starting to move edits to the main space (will take place in the coming weeks). Your advice, comments, and assistance would be greatly appreciated! Rshrid (talk) 17:41, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overemphasis on Nutrition?

Thank you to the authors for their diligent and thoughtful work on this article.

I think there is perhaps an overemphasis on nutrition as a driver of comorbidities as opposed to other factors e.g. SES, lack of access to healthcare, lack of research.

Happy to add more meat to the section on comorbidities and the controversy around it if people agree. MarkovChainsaw (talk) 21:45, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
