Talk:Pupilometer

The most common instrument called a pupilometer measure the PD, or pupillary distance for fitting the optic centers of eyeglasses. The dual nomenclature can't be dismissed, though I don't see any references. I would include this instrument in the Category:Ophthalmic_equipment, but the article is written otherwise. Please add: A pupilometer should be used rather than a ruler on the nose for progressive lenses because even a tiny error causes an out-of-focus image. Sponsion (talk) 02:20, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Four Different Things are Being Discussed Here

Pupillometry - Measuring of the diameter of a pupil for neuropathy

Pupillometer - Measures the diameter of a pupil

Interpupillary distance - The distance between the pupils

Pupilometer - Measures the distance between the pupils

The Interpupillary distance and the pupilometer should be removed, the title to this be changed to Pupillometry and a Corneal Reflex Pupilometer Page be started (OpticianCarrie (talk) 06:52, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
