Contradiction?

In copyediting this article last month, I noticed that the following line in the "Investigations" section seems to contradict itself and tagged it as such:

  • Loss of diurnal variation in cortisol levels (loss of diurnal variation is seen only in true Cushing's Syndrome){{contradiction}}

If the loss of cortisol-level diurnal variation is seen only in true Cushing's syndrome (as the second part of the sentence states), I don't know why the same finding would be used in a diagnosis of Pseudo-Cushing's; perhaps someone can clarify this statement with a citation.
