Wikiproject Prisons

If anyone's interested, a new wikiproject has been proposed for the creation and improvement of articles regarding specific prisons, internment camps, and detention centers here.--Cdogsimmons (talk) 02:40, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how this works but...

I just wanted to say that I don't really feel the link to "Concentration camps in Nazi Germany" should be there. There's a big difference between Nazi Prison Camps, and correctional facilities (which most, if not all, countries maintain). I'm going to remove it. If someone has a problem with its removal, you can revert it. --76.17.82.52 (talk) 19:14, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Personal language ?

Why are there personal language and anecdotes in this article? Who wrote it? It seems highly unprofessional. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.10.59.163 (talk) 18:57, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In desperate need of an update

I'm not competent to make the needed changes, but this article is supposedly a translation of the German original, but includes information that is over 15 years out of date and a lot of original speculation with no sources. E.g. prisons have not been governed by federal law since 2009, and the comments about "community feel" are at best assumptions made by US-based editors who saw a documentary about a very specific institutional form used for 3% of prisoners, and at worst simply propaganda which would not be reflected in any German language media or research. Would it be possible for someone to get a new translation / summary of the German original? I would if I could ever learn to be a competent editor, of course... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.130.151.235 (talk) 15:27, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
