Unreliable Source?
The list seems to contain a lot of errors, e.g.
- french names for locations in the german part of switzerland and vice versa, e.g. "La Bessime" for "Arbon" is most likely wrong.
- according to the Nomination File Volume II p 116 ff (p 21 ff in pdf) on http://www.palafittes.org, the location "Sursee" is called "Halbinsel" (which is correct) and has a location size of 3.55 ha and a buffer size of 67.78 ha, i.e. exactly the values mentioned under "Hitzkirch".

- Interesting...It does look like the data given on the official UNESCO site is wrong...It also looks like the list given at the link contains all the nominated sites, not just the accepted sites. Additional information includes all the sites stricken from the nomination, so that appears to be the most reliable. It looks like someone will need to map the nomination data to the UNESCO final data. Since the names don't always line up and since more sites are nominated then accepted, this can be a mess. Additionally, the municipalities on the table all come from the UNESCO lat/long, which also don't match the CH1903 and UTM coordinates given in the nomination.Tobyc75 (talk) 09:52, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Coordinate error

The following coordinate fixes are needed for
Sorry by not being completely descriptive, but I think this helps anyway. I spot checked several (over 5) locations in Switzerland that I know by heart, and they all show up in an entirely different pace. Winkel, for example shows up in Lac Neuchatel; Enge shows up in Geneva. I have a suspicion that the table is jumbled, since all the wrong locations at still close to other pile dwelling locations. I do not understand enough about tables to fix this myself. If it helps, my first example (Winkel Erlenbach) is located within a couple hundred meters of coordinates 47.296851,8.596539 If someone with table and geodata experience wants to fix this, I'd be glad to help if possible. - I've got all Swiss Coords to match the maps included in the nomination file. They all seem to be in the correct municipality now. Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia all seem to already be correct. Let me know if anyone finds any further coord errors. Tobyc75 (talk) 22:01, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Additions by separate wikis
Hi, started Prehistoric pile dwellings around Zürichsee, based on the table in Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps. Around 20% of all Swiss pile dwellings are located in the Zürichsee area, including the two sites on Greifensee and Pfäffikersee (Robenhausen), imho the largest concentration within the 'small' area of about 40 square kilometers. The table has been extended and imho a bit precised including descriptions and images of each site, and pointing to the 'uniqueness' within the UNESCO site. About seven 'stubs' around specific sites will be established within the next days/weeks, imho in all 'worth' to be separated; of course as source of location details Prehistoric pile dwellings around Zürichsee claearly referred to Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps.
