Atypical Development

It is said that a right specialization of planum temporale "could be interrupting or impeding information flow between Wernickes and Broca's, which are on the left hemisphere." Wernicke's Area

My impression is that Wernicke's area is defined more functionally, rather than physically, and at any rate is usually more associated with supramarginal gyrus than with planum temporale.

I was always taught that the planum temporale is the dorsal aspect of the temporal lobe (planum == plateau, temporale == temporal), plain and simple --not just the part that's caudal to Heschel's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.190.103 (talk) 02:16, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
