Why does this redirect to Southwestern United States? That is a different region entirely from the Old Southwest, which was the area west of the Appalachians and south of the Ohio in the late 18th/first half of the nineteenth century. john k (talk) 23:21, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
