hi

I don't see why there's an NMDAR antagonists section in an article about NMDA. The article is about NMDA, not the NMDAR.

hi. i added the stuff about the excitotoxicity and the reference article. my first content edit. please let me know if i need citations or whatever. Amutepiggy 22:37, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the opening paragraph which said that NMDA was a partial antagonist as it is infact an agonist at the receptor named after it. I also removed the NMDA in the brain section because as far as I am aware NMDA is synthetic and this is mention earlier in the article.Jotun99 10:51, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

The idea of quoting: "Researchers apply NMDA to specific regions of an (animal) subject's brain or spinal cord and subsequently test for the behavior of interest, such as operant behavior. If the behavior is compromised, it suggests the destroyed tissue was part of a brain region that made an important contribution to the normal expression of that behavior." reminds me the story of a flea that was taught how to jump from one hand to the other when ordered by vocal command. Then one of his legs was taken of - and he still jumped. And then another leg - still jumped. And so on until they took of his last leg - and what do you know!? He didn't jump. Conclusion: a flea without legs is deaf! Alonyu 16:04, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Implications for Memory

I started this section, using my intro to biology textbook as a source. If you need citations, holler. If you can get them yourself, sweet!--Heyitspeter 00:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

N-Methyl-DL-aspartic acid should be merged into this article because the content there is relevant mostly to the single enantiomer N-Methyl-D-aspartic acid, and the little bit that is about the racemate would be better located here to provide it with appropriate context. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:12, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
