In the history section the article claims that Metapontum took the side of Hannibal 'till the end of the war. The source "The Rise of the Roman Empire" Polybius, Ian Scott-Kilvert, Frank William Walbank, claims that Metapontum offerred key assistance to Rome:
After these preparations for the siege had been completed, the Romans received reinforcements by sea from Metapontum. This measure of relief did something to restore their spirits; the made a night attack on the siege-works, and succeeded in destroying all of Hannibal's machines and apparatus
Yet the article implies that they had always been against Rome. Miskin 13:29, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Grain
Metapontion did not cultivate "corn", rather barley and wheat, both of which were golden at harvest, consistent with footnote #20 (Strabo). Additionally, the eight grain barley ear on the obverse of it's archaic coinage is similarly misidentified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flausa123 (talk • contribs) 20:46, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
