Spelling
I have noted the spelling difference between Ménière’s disease and the name, Prosper Menière. French Wikipedia spells his name the same way that refers to the disease as la Maladie de Menière. So it is consistent. I am sure if it were a typo, it would have been fixed long ago. so I suspect the “incorrect“ spelling is entrenched in English language medicine. If someone can confirm this, it’s worth a footnote at least. If someone happens to be familiar with the history, an explanation would interest me, for one. Is it a hypercorrection?

- I'll shed no light here, since I went to the French Wikipedia as well, but I noted there that the elder Meniere (I don't know how to render accents here) is spelled with only an "accent grave" on the second "e", whereas his son and continuator of his work is spelled with an additional "accent aigu" on the first "e". Hence the American spelling of the disease matches the patronymic of the son rather than the father's, if they were spelled correctly on the French page.
