How do people say this name in English? Louie le Wheat (8)? Lewis Eight? Lewis Ex Eye Eye Eye? Reswobslc 05:31, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Lou E" the 13th —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.105.212.2 (talkcontribs)

Oh my bad, I even read the Roman numeral wrong. Reswobslc 23:15, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's pronounced "Louie Traaze" (long "A")

Decanter price wrong

There's a decanter on ebay right now for $60 (finishing in a few hours). http://cgi.ebay.ca/Remy-Martin-Louis-XIII-Baccarat-Crystal-Decanter_W0QQitemZ260092262481QQihZ016QQcategoryZ10901QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(not 400-600 as the article states)

Is it regular practice to use ebay bids (and sales) for determinating a price? I have my doubts. Maybe someone who knows something about economy can help here? Key to the city 13:09, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

its at least $2000, a single shot at most bars is $150 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.95.108.19 (talk) 07:32, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

peacock

i just added the peacock template, as most of this article reads like ad copy. "LOUIS XIII cognac is the ultimate expression of the mastery of time" is my favorite bit. i know zero about this subject or i'd try to start it off myself. this could maybe also be solved by the merge that has apparently been proposed since 2013? --dan (talk) 02:53, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Improving the article

I know this article has had some problems in the past with promotional tone, as well as content and practices that weren't exactly Wikipedia-friendly. I have no intention of trying to restore things to the way they were. That said, I think there's plenty of room for improvement, especially in regards to expanding the history section (Louis XIII is over 100 years old, after all). I'll be working on drafting up content in the near future, and I welcome any feedback, positive or negative. Kingnixon and Mean as custard, I'd especially appreciate your input if you can spare the time, as it seems you two were the ones who initially flagged this article.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 19:49, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

i really don't have any useful input beyond what i'd written above, i'm afraid. i don't know a single thing about the subject, and i am far from a frequent wiki editor. --dan (talk) 09:36, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've got a working draft here that's focused on both expanding the content already here and adding more references to support it. I added more context to the lead paragraph, expanded the history section (the history is nearly 150 years long, and I think there's more to cover in that time period than the scant four sentences in the current article), and added a list of the products released, in line with articles like Courvoisier and Hennessy. If anyone has time to look it over and give some feedback, I'd greatly appreciate it.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 18:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a "100 Years" section

I saw that the Louis XIII-produced 100 Years (film) had its own article, and I thought that it was worth fleshing out as more than just a "See also" link, especially since they also helped produce a 100 years song 2 years after the film. I've drafted up a section including information on both of them here. Can someone take a look and work with me to ensure that it's a positive contribution to the article? @Vapeur: do you have time to review it?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 18:44, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, this was done by Vapeur. – Fayenatic London 15:05, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
