Overall: Everything looks good to me! A very interesting list. Preference is for either toe hook. Noting that DYK Check shows less than 1500 characters, but the text in the list proper is well over the limit  — Chris Woodrich (talk) 20:45, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In its current form, we'd have to IAR this as the prose size is 18 bytes short of the 1500 bytes limit. But I agree that there is so much (valuable) prose in the table that this should be ok. I shall note that the toe image is not in focus and thus recommend against using it. Schwede66 06:29, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Gobonobo, if the toe image can't be used, do you have a preference between toe hook (without image), arm hook (with image), or something else? Rjjiii (talk) 04:16, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The toe is fabulous (both unusual and intriguing) and I really think it is the best option if we're going with an image. It renders quite well at 140x140 pixels and is only out of focus if you click through to the enlarged image. However, we could use a different crop (example pictured) if you wanted something sharper. gobonobo + c 04:48, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Opinions on that version, Schwede66? Not about drinking it, but for DKY purposes, Rjjiii (talk) 05:03, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@AirshipJungleman29 and Rjjiii: There really are a lot of options here. I focused on the most interesting images of body parts, and didn't spend a lot of time considering using the portraits of the individuals. If the toe is too gross for people, maybe a hook about the Heart of Louis XIV being both eaten and made into paint, which could work without an image as well. I'm not sure how to word it though. There are a ton of options and I'm totally open to suggestions. gobonobo + c 05:10, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It’s up to the promoter to prep to decide on images. Schwede66 08:27, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In Template:Did you know/Preparation area 3, the hook has been slightly changed to:

* ... that a human toe used for cocktails (pictured) is one of many body parts that are tourist attractions?

This combines the language of the toe hooks in a way that I hope is clear and verifiable. If there are any issues, I am fine with partially reverting back. Beethoven's hair

Beethoven hair held by NYPL

From the article Beethoven in film: Released in 2005, a docudrama titled Beethoven's Hair, directed by Larry Weinstein, traces the unlikely journey of a lock of hair cut from Beethoven's corpse and unravels the mystery of his tortured life and death with scientific evidence. Schwede66 05:15, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good find Schwede66. I've added an entry for his hair. I didn't mention the docudrama, but if you want to add it, please do so, by all means. gobonobo + c 21:00, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's all good. I once saw the film, hence I hunted around for a photo. Schwede66 06:31, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Muhammad in the article

I noticed that Prophet Muhammad's listing in the table features a depiction of Him, and aren't depictions of prophets like Him usually considered as idolatory and therefore haram in Islam? I think we should do something about this.

When I wrote the article, I included an image of a rose there (File:Rose Hilye.jpg), which is traditionally used to symbolize Muhammad. It was replaced, but I've restored it for now. I would prefer the rose image or none at all. gobonobo + c 05:47, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps it would be better to have no image at all for people who have no photographs or contemporary portraits. It would give off an inaccurate impression that the [body part] was taken from [person who looks like this] when in reality we have no idea what they really looked like. ―Howard🌽33 07:52, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Howard's suggestion (removing all non-contemporary images) is elegant and I think it would work well for this specific case. It conpletely dodges the question of whether we should appeal to religious sensibilities (in this case, Islamic ones), which goes a long way for preserving neutrality. I am open to supporting it. Marisauna (talk) 16:25, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I replaced the image with calligraphy of his name. For the sake of respect I agree that an artistic depiction of Muhammad should not be used, as it is gravely offensive to many Muslims. Marisauna (talk) 16:08, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Title

Shouldn't this be renamed to List of notable body parts? Stephen 07:15, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

List of individual cats, List of individual dogs, List of individual trees, etc. all have the same titling format. It appears to be consistent with previous articles covering the same things. ―Howard🌽33 07:36, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Body part images

I do not believe it's necessary to include an example image of what a particular body part looks like in the "Body part" column. These are all quite generally known body parts which do not need illustrations outside of their respective articles. The illustrations also have an inconsistent style, with some being anatomical, others symbolic, still others animated. I recommend the illustrations in the "body part" be all removed. ―Howard🌽33 07:43, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I looked on Commons for a standard "set" of body part images to use, but couldn't find one. Personally, I'm a fan of the rotating skulls. gobonobo + c 09:48, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's funny but it looks unprofessional. ―Howard🌽33 22:52, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edward Drinker Cope

Can some editor with more recent experience add the skull of Edward Drinker Cope? There is a whole section in Cope's article about this. 164.107.80.208 (talk) 14:43, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
